The bridge of the Judgment of Equilibrium was a cavern of crystalline silence. The air—what passed for air in the artificially maintained environment—was still and cool, carrying a faint scent of ozone and something metallic, like polished steel. Luna stood in the center of a raised platform, the containment beam dissolved. Around her, the walls and ceiling were formed of interlocking, geometric crystal structures that glowed with soft internal light. Figures moved at the periphery—shapes of flowing light and shifting mineral facets, the ship's crew. But all attention was focused on the form approaching from the far end of the bridge.
