Alex was in a cab heading home when she got a call on her phone, it was Fred her supposed boyfriend, she was contemplating in her mind weather to take the call or not, she stared at the phone for some time then decided to take the call, without saying a word she quietly listens to what Fred had to say.

Alex had a sad expression on her face as she hangs up, the cab pulls over on reaching her destination, she pays him and heads inside. Alex lives in a small apartment with her friend Becca. Alex has known Becca all her life, they grew up together, went to the same collage together, and now they both are trying to live their dreams.
Alex walks in on Becca baking cookies, the kitchen was a mess and so was her, Becca noticed Alex presence.

She walks over to the oven and brings out a tray of freshly baked cookie.
Alex got a text on her phone, she opened it, it was an apology message from Fred
Then her expression changed. Becca noticed it.

Alex i have told you many times, Fred is not the one for you, just let him go, cant you see he is cheating on you, the other day i saw him at Zaza`s restaurant with a girl, and you both were suppose to have dinner together but he didnt show up, with the same lame excuse about work.....look i didnt want to tell you this coz i know it will hurt your feelings, i felt you would realize it on your own, but i cant just standby and watch this anymore.
Alex was puzzled by what Becca just told her, but a part of her was not surprised at all, she had the feeling ever since but she doesn't want to just believe it.

Wednesday 5pm he will be there at Zaza`s restaurant with her. For now just cheer up girl coz tomorrow is a big day.
Becca took Alex phone and threw it on the couch, then she placed the warm cookies on the plate then she turns to Alex.

Alex gets the milk as Becca heads for the couch.
Becca cheers Alex up as they watch there favorite TV show.
Its 7:30 in the morning and Alex is still asleep, she rolls over holding her pillow with a dreamy face, then she suddenly opens her eyes, looks at the time, then jumps up.
Oh my goodness!!, am going to be late on my first day.
She hurriedly freshened up took her things and heads out. She gets a cab but it seems useless to her since everywere was jammed with traffic, she got off and hurried to the subway in order to catch a train, she was lucky enough to secure a ticket, she got in and within a minute the train started moving, the train stopped she got off gets a cab and soon she was at the office building, she checks the time and its almost 9 o`clock.
Oh my goodness i hope i wont be in any kind of trouble, she takes a deep breath as she heads inside. Reaching inside, although the building is an office building it looks so luxurious on the the inside.
Wow.. such a nice place, cant believe i will be working here.
Alex looks around and walks over to the reception area, she sees a lady there about her age, with blonde hair and chocolate eyes, alex walks over to meet her.

She walks over to the elevator, on reaching there, she saw that almost everyone in the office was tensed, some sorting out document, some arranging files, and some just going to and fro, she was confused as to why everyone was tensed. She stared for a while and heads for the office on her left, she knocked on the glass door, inside is a young lady Miss Emilia, she is busy with her laptop as if searching for something, then she notices Alex on the door and signals her to come in.
Alex walked in wondering if she came at a wrong time. Emilia stared at her

She stretches her hand to Emilia. Emilia took the later stared at her for a sec then opened it. She looked at her again.

Some laughed and some was expecting it as it is like a tradition that all workers must go through before been promoted
Alex is a bit confused, she did not come all the way here searching for a job just to be in charge of coffee.
Miss Emilia… excuse me miss…. Miss… but she already vanish back to her office without a word.
Alex had a bit of chaotic day in the office moving up and down to make sure everyone is well served, since the CEO of the company was coming and they had to show something presentable to him for the upcoming contract.
Alex heads for the subway to catch a train, but on reaching there, the train had been long gone and it would take up to an hour for the next one so she had to wait since the traffic had not been cleared out.
She sat there by the bench thinking about her life, her work, and her family she misses so much, she turned her head as if feel the presence of someone she stood up and walks towards the next bench, she startled when she saw someone on a wheelchair, she couldn't see the face clearly coz it was a bit dark.
She then sat close to him on the bench,
Can I tell you something there are some people even without been in a wheelchair who are crippled, there are many with a crippled relationship, a crippled family even a crippled life she cried silently then wiped her tears, even though you are crippled physical you have someone to take care of you, and if you have someone who loves you for you then you should be grateful, because not everyone can find true love these days.
The train approaches them and stops, she wipes her tears, brings out a few change from her bag and places it on his laps.

He just stirs at her as she walks into to train, Alex is feeling frustrated heartbroken and tired anyone can hear the pain in her voice. Not long the train moves.
The man on the wheelchair signals his hand as if calling someone then a man on a suit appears behind him, he took the money on his lap and places it on the cup of a beggar who is sleeping on the ground, then the wheel-chaired guy raises his hand giving the instructions to go. The the man on suit rolled him out.
The train reached its stop and Alex got off, she could not find a cab so she had to walk home. One reaching the house Becca is already asleep, she checks the time it's 9:45
Thinking about everything that happened today she just went to freshen up and went to bed.
