Acting Sect Leader Maximus Radcliffe
With countries entering the cultivation world, Eldorin and the few minor worlds have been developing at an exponential rate. The Pavilion Masters have guessed correctly all countries' leadership will find the chance to cultivate and extend their lifespan highly appealing, resulting in them diverting massive amount of resources into developing the country's new minor world in the lower realm. In a surprising development, technology breakthroughs are happening faster than the Pavillion Masters' initial guess when using commercial computing power as a source of reference. It would appear governments across the world, especially the economic powerhouses have access to far more powerful next generation computers. Throwing in the countries' access to its best research talents in collaboration with the Pavillion Masters, the result is plain amazing.
The technology breakthroughs have led to increased productivity for all goods and faster construction of infrastructure. The spirit conversion array has also been refined to a point where prototypes are now being tested on Eldorin and minor worlds. In combination with another prototype technology, a fusion reactor, the spirit energy generated at this point in time can provide access to fifty thousand new Earthlings. The fusion of these two technologies led to the birth of runic fusion reactor. According to the Pavillion Masters involved in the research, they are confident that runic fusion reactor technology will be refined to a point where the spirit energy generated will double in an Earth year time, increasing the number of access slots to a hundred thousand per reactor. By that time, there won't be any need for the sect to create any new spirit gathering arrays or even upgrading the existing arrays to increase the number of access slots. It has been estimated that it will be cheaper to build ten runic fusion reactors to generate the same amount of spirit energy generated by a level four spirit gathering array and the performance gap will only widen with time.
Despite all the technology breakthroughs solving a number of problems, there is still a single problem technology can't solve. Eldorin and the minor worlds are facing a severe labor shortage and this is something Maximus need to find more viable solutions to the problem. With the quality of Earthlings' cultivation talent, they will only be viable for the short-term and would move to management or leadership role the moment they achieve the third major realm. The long-term solution is still bringing in more migrants from other worlds in the lower realm. Even with access to more affordable cultivation resources, ninety percent of the native population in the lower realm will stall at the second major realm due to their inherent cultivation talent. Only a small minority will be able to transcend to the third major realm due to fortuitous encounter.
With the ongoing campaigns since its inception, his disciples have brought in more than seven million migrants to Eldorin with an effective working population of more than three million. The current population is still a far cry from the goal of five hundred million residents on Eldorin proposed by the council. On a positive note, the improved quality of life among the new migrants brought in so far have led to baby boom. It is regrettable that those babies will only be mature enough to join the workforce sixteen years down the road at the minimum. More importantly, even if Maximus has the patience to wait for a hundred and fifty years to achieve the population goal through natural birthrate, his Earthling disciples wouldn't have the same amount patience.
Slave trading might be a questionable practice and something that Immortal Ascension Pavillion disdain to even engage at its peak, it is still the next best option to obtain population quickly provided the sect and its disciples can afford the price tag. Minus a few exception, most of the cultivation worlds' sovereigns don't value their population unless they possess a high grade cultivation talent. Given the staggering amount of population needed, it will be a poor choice to pay with spirit stones when trade goods will do a much better job at it. The novel goods produce by his disciples will definitely fetch a price premium when sold in the lower realm or even with other standard goods, his disciples will still be able to earn a decent profit margin due to the lower cost of production. The prerequisite is that any disciples trading in the lower realm need to be able cite a source for their goods. His disciples and the countries operating in the lower realm are still like children in possession of a treasure if there ever claim to be the primary source for those goods at this point in time.
The sect will need to a powerful "shield" to protect the Earthlings before they can begin trading actively in the lower realm. However, any human powerhouse qualified to be a "shield" is out of the question since each of them are in alliance plotting for the sect's demise. It is great that humans are not the only sentient beings in the cultivation world. Aside from humans, there are elves, dwarves, orcs, goblins, beast folks, mythical beasts and a number of other races.
It has been decided that the sect will be initiating contact again with the Dwarven Federation after being in isolation for more than two thousand years. The Dwarven Federation has been chosen due two main reasons. Before breaking contact, the Dwarven Federation is one the few races Immortal Ascension Pavillion has the best diplomatic relationship with. The dwarves are master craftsmen and their entire race culture revolves around achieving the peak in the craft of their choice. All goods produced by a master dwarf artisan always command a premium back in the human worlds. This very reason made all twelve Pavillion Masters spending a lot of effort into becoming the Dwarven Federation major clan's preferred trading partner. At its peak, the sect is the preferred trading partner for thirty six major clans. This speaks volume to the sect's relationship when the Dwarven Federation are made up of forty three major clans. Even if the sect's enemies ever discovered the new trade arrangement in the foreseeable future, none of them will be able to stop the Dwarven Federation from trading with the sect. The number of new novelties brought about by the Earthlings into the cultivation world will definitely pique the dwarves' interests. Appealing to the dwarves self-interest is still the best counter against any potential moves by the sect's enemies.
Second, the dwarves are sturdy and they are one of the few races that controlled a vast population and number of worlds that can rival the humanity's population and worlds in both the immortal realm and the lower realm. This means that there will be a large market to absorb the goods that the sect and countries are beginning to produce a surplus. At the same time, the dwarves are where the sect and countries can quickly purchase all the runic components that won't reveal any sensitive secrets. Take the construction of runic fusion reactors as an example. Even if only the more generic runic components are outsourced to the dwarves, it will still double the pace of runic fusion reactors being completed. This new trade arrangement will be at least beneficial two both the sect and Dwarven Federation in the short term.
