Chapter 10 - Chapter 10 – A Farmer Among the Stars

Long Fei sat cross-legged under the old willow tree, his body trembling with excitement. He could feel it—his qi had surged, snapping through bottlenecks like brittle glass. He had leapt not one, but two whole realms, standing firmly in Early Foundation Establishment.

He looked at his hands in disbelief. "I… broke through again?"

Before he could celebrate, Lai's voice drifted over, calm as always.

"Stabilize it."

Fei turned and saw his master approaching with a basket of freshly cut vegetables. Lai dropped the basket on the ground, then handed him a thin jade slip.

"Food for the Soul," Lai said. "A cultivation method that tempers not just flesh and qi, but willpower itself. Train with it until your core no longer trembles. Then we'll begin… the basics."

Fei swallowed. If this was only the prelude, what kind of hell would basic training be?

Leaving the Farm

That evening, Lai stood at the edge of his field. Garfield was sprawled on the ground, panting after dragging iron golems all day.

"Garfield," Lai said casually.

The white tiger—once a mighty demon king—snapped to attention.

"Watch the farm. No pests. No excuses."

"Yes, Master," Garfield growled, both terrified and grateful.

Then, without another word, Lai stepped into the sky. His body blurred into a streak of light, vanishing beyond the clouds.

A Farmer on a Meteor

In the endless sea of stars, Lai stood on a drifting meteorite, hands clasped behind his back. His eyes swept across worlds as though examining rows of vegetables.

"Ah," he murmured. "That one will do."

Far ahead lay a world choked with demonic qi, blackened skies swirling over burning wastelands.

The Demon World

On that planet, a girl of no more than ten ran through the ruins of her home. Her pale scales marked her as serpentkin—a Naga princess.

Behind her, a pack of hyena-like demons gave chase, their red eyes gleaming with hunger. She stumbled, blood soaking her torn robes.

"Mother… Father… I'm sorry," she sobbed. "I couldn't be strong enough. I'll… see you soon."

The demons cackled as their leader approached—a towering minotaur, nearly three meters tall, his axe dripping with fresh blood.

"Rejoice, little princess," he mocked, raising his weapon high. "Soon you'll join your parents in hell."

The axe fell—

But it never touched her.

The minotaur froze mid-swing, his flesh crumbling to ash. One by one, the demons shrieked, bodies unraveling like sand in the wind.

The girl opened her tear-stained eyes to see a man walking through the dust. His clothes were plain, his aura absent—just a mortal farmer.

But his presence crushed the world itself.

A Strange Recruitment

Lai knelt before the girl, studying her wounds. "Heal."

Light swept over her, knitting flesh and bone instantly. Her vitality surged as though she had never bled.

She looked up at him, trembling. "Please… I have nothing. Take me with you. I'll do anything. Just… don't leave me here."

Lai tilted his head. "Can you do farm work?"

The girl blinked, stunned. "…Yes?"

A faint smile crossed his lips. "Good. Then you're hired."

In an instant, they stood in the void of space, gazing down at the world below.

Atomic Judgment

"Won't you miss this place?" Lai asked, his tone as casual as if he were asking about a harvest.

The girl shook her head furiously. "No."

"Your name?"

"Blanca."

Lai nodded. "Serpentkin. Naga blood. Strong roots."

Then his eyes returned to the planet. His voice dropped to a whisper.

"I've always wanted to say this."

He raised one finger, pointing lazily at the demon world.

"Atomic."

For a moment, there was silence. Then the planet flared—white light swallowing continents, seas, and skies. A roaring shockwave split the void as the world shattered into dust, billions of demonic lives erased in a single instant.

The girl's mouth fell open in horror.

When she turned back, they were already standing on the farm, cabbages swaying peacefully in the evening breeze.

Cliffhanger – A Farmer's Shadow

Across the multiverse, alarms rang. Cultivators, demons, and divine clans alike felt the death cry of an entire world. Ancient sects shuddered, holy lands scrambled, and abyssal lords howled in fury.

But none could find the culprit.

Only a few terrified witnesses whispered of a man dressed like a farmer.

Back in the Imperial Palace, the Empress read the reports with a heavy gaze.

"Chen clan slaughtered. A planet erased. Both connected by whispers of…"

She exhaled slowly, her voice tightening to a whisper.

"…a farmer."
