Chapter 54 - Farewell....

Art of Convergence — a battle style Kaios had created, after his ER before he was sent to these trials by his master.

It was designed for adaptability— taking the essence of the alloys themselves. As a single metal was enhanced further when fused with another in perfect proportion, so too this battle style was intended for.

It allowed Kaios to blend the strengths and properties of multiple alloys into certain moves that will enhanced them further more.

Though it was called a style, the Art of Convergence possessed no fixed forms or techniques. It was like an open canvas— ready to shaped by as the battle demanded or by the alloys at hand.

But it also became a flaw for it. As without any pre-made techniques to rely on, every encounter test the instincts and creativity.

For every alloy he used or got, Kaios had to learn and build inbetween synergy from nothing— again and again.

And the technique this time 'Perpetual Prison' is one of those. It used the synergy between his current three alloys to make a binding technique.

It was one of the most creative technique he came upon. The foundation of it was the Resonance Alloy layer— the sheath that worked both as weapon and armor. It absorbs the impact of the attack made by the enemy, before unleashing it back with amplified.

Then came the Gravistone Alloy between both the Resonance Alloy and Ferrostal Alloy, acting as a glue to hold them together.

Lastly the Ferrostal Alloy that gave the technique its name. It continuously magnetize its surroundings, which were then attracted and glued to the prison by the Gravistone Alloy

For each minute passed, the layers above the prison increased in number, making the binding more effective.

Just another minute... Kaios thought in his mind as he looked above.

There he saw the timer with the number of life he had.

[01:03:72]

Then his gaze shifted toward the massive half-sphere formed from shattered slabs and drifting debris. In less than a minute, its shell had already thickened to over six inches, layer upon layer covering above of it, making it into an impenetrable barrier.

On the inside the reflection of him trying his hard to break it from the inside, but all his effort remained fruitless.

"Come on… just work. Anything… fucking—work, damn it."

It even tried to manipulate the alloy, to which it briefly succeeded. He managed to make a small gap between the inner layer of Resonance Alloy.

Alas— just as it was about be slightly larger than an inch, the massive amount Psion overflow from Kaios completely overwrite its manipulation making it futile.

Yes, it was a reflection of Kaios, but only one built from how he was perceived. Its emotions were nothing more than simulated innerself of his own, while its power was just a perfect mimicry of Kaios himself.

That was also the reason it was barred to use any Special Ability in this trai— because often times a Special Ability could beore than the person was showing. Let alone the SA of Kaios, which is complex in nature.

This is why even when it had the massive Psion like Kaios in theory, it truly doesn't. As the Psion of Kaios was more pure and his larger IR due to his connection to lumina, which obviously the reflection didn't have.

So any effort the reflection did to got his way out from the sphere by using the manipulation, only resulted in failure.

Still the reflection tried, but time didn't wait for any body, even when he used the recorret ability of Artifact. Soon one minute passed, as a loud buzzer echoed all around.

The reflection within the half-sphere, which was trying its hard dissolved like smoke instantly, before it could even utter its final word of rage and fraustration.

Kaios stood still as the buzzer echoed all around. Through his alloys, he already felt it— the reflection inside was gone. As he be sure about it, he cut off the Psion flow. The moment he did that, the layered shell of debris crumbled away, as the property of all the alloy turned off.

Even after he cut the Psion flow, the structure remained intact—still holding its half-sphere form. That was the nature of his Path— Psion was needed only to shape the alloy, never required further to sustain. Once the form took shape, it existed on its own, till he wanted to change it.

As Kaios was about to demolish the structure and to call back the alloys, a soft laugh reverberated in the air around him.

"Hehehe..... That was a good show Kaios, it was too much fun..heheh....hehe"

As Kaios searched for the source of the laughter, his gaze caught on a small yellow fairy perched atop of a white cloud just above his head.

The fairy was none other than Clement.

"Oh....so you were already here, I thought you forgot again and slept somewhere." Kaios said with sarcasm.

Clement who heard it, stopped her laughing, before fixing her gazed at Kaios. Then with mischievous glint, she struck out her tounge.

"Hmmph, I don't forget anything, mister Superior." She said.

Kaios who heard the reply from the fairy cringed inwardly.

Why the fuck I was behaving like that... I don't talk like that so why...

As Kaios was pondering about the reason behind his earlier actions, Clement cut in.

"Anyway, with this you second trial came to an end, with only leaving the last trial." Clement replied as she came from her drifting cloud.

Kaios whose thought was interrupted, became confused as he heard her. "Ehh.. second trial was over, wouldn't there anither minigame."

"No, that was just for the show, the last Game Of Tag was a mini game in its own," Clement who was now hovering between his eyes shook her head. "It was mixed with the trial of reflection for better immersion."

"So...second trial was truly over!?" Kaios asked one more time to confirm.

"Yes, with this the trial in the Plain of Ever-Changing was over, you will depart from it shortly." She said, but this time Kaios could sense a slight sadness in her word.

"Are you sad that I am leaving..." Kaios asked to Clement.

Clement lowered her head as she heard it, "No... Why will I be sad if you leave."

She refused, but Kaios knew it was not the case, so he gazed at her some time, before broke the silence.

"Don't worry I will to find a way to meet you again, its a promise."

As the fairy heard it her face brightened, but she still masked it and said, "Hmph... Who wants to meet a rude person like you again."

Before Kaios could reply back any further, he saw his body being broken into lights. "Well looks like it is a farewell for now."

As this uttered form his mouth Kaios vanished from the view of Clement. Still her gaze remained there little longer, before words came out of her voice.

"Farewell, Kaios...."
