Chapter 2 - chapter 2

Water dripped down Satvik's hair, his tshirt clinging to his shoulders. He stood quietly, drenched, as the crowd gasped at his sudden action.

For Satvik, it was a desperate choice..... better to make a fool of himself than insult a stranger. He had no idea that the girl walking in wasn't just another student.

Preeti's steps slowed as she entered through the gate. The scene before her was unusual...one boy soaked in water, a dozen seniors staring in shock, and the entire crowd holding its breath.

Her sharp eyes scanned the group. For a fleeting second, her gaze locked with Satvik's. His heart skipped, unsure why her presence felt so heavy.

The seniors, however, were trembling.

"Idiot!" one hissed to the other. "Do you realize what he just did? It looked like he was about to throw water at her!"

The leader swallowed hard, his earlier arrogance melting into panic. "If Dharmraj finds out we were involved in this"

He didn't finish. In an instant, he and the others bolted, scattering like frightened animals. The crowd murmured in disbelief.

Satvik blinked, confused. Why had they run away? He hadn't even done anything to them.

Preeti tilted her head slightly, studying him. There was no fear in her eyes, only curiosity. Who was this boy who dared to act so strangely in front of everyone?

Satvik lowered his gaze, embarrassed by his drenched state. He thought he had avoided humiliation, but unknowingly, he had stepped into something far bigger than himself.

The whispers in the crowd grew louder. "That's Preeti… Dharmraj's daughter."

Satvik froze at the name, his stomach tightening. He realized, at last, why the seniors had fled in terror.

And why this girl's presence felt so different.

To be continued…....
