Chapter 89 - Chapter 85: The Goddess Encounter

"Bad, bad… If I leave that idiot alone, Chaldea'll be drowned in Mapo!"

"It's cozy, everything's here, but I don't wanna get kicked out over responsibility! I haven't repaid Master yet! What to do… Hm?"

'Easy Fluffy Sweet Recipes for Anyone'

"This is it!!"

Greetings, I'm a goddess.

"Caught a fine breeze! A splendid voyage!" Nero cheered.

Not one soldier emerged from her ship. Says it all. RIP.

"Pegasus was amazing!!" Ritsuka exclaimed.

"Thank you, Medusa-san," Mash said.

"No need. I'm off," Medusa replied.

"Wait. I said protect the Master until we leave this island," Gilgamesh ordered.

"Hero King…!" Medusa groaned.

"Haha, don't look so heated! Embarrassing! Now, Romani, where's this god-forsaken filth?"

Just an ordinary island. No monsters or beasts detected.

"Gods… Monotheistic religions have one god. This must be a different lineage, not Christian."

Jeanne spoke up. "I wanna see! Enlarge the monitor! Too small! If it's Romulus, I might return to the Throne from shock!"

"Calm down! Here it is—Servant signal!"

The group braced—a figure appeared.

"A nostalgic aura drew me here. What a cute hero!"

A petite, adorable goddess, destined for offerings.

"Big… Sister…" Medusa whispered.

"Been a while, clumsy sister," Stheno smiled. "I didn't expect this meeting."

Medusa paled.

"Acquaintances?" Ritsuka asked.

"Yes. I'm Stheno, goddess, elder sister to that brawny, foolish Medusa. Right, my gluttonous sister?"

"…Yes, Lady Stheno, a Greek goddess, my elder sister," Medusa mumbled.

"Speak up. Your mouth's too big to be quiet. No use resisting, brawny Medusa," Stheno teased.

"…Yes…"

Is that goddess love? Elegant venom, paling Medusa.

Love's opposite is indifference. She's doting on her.

"Gil! Weren't gods gone?!" Ritsuka asked.

"Exceptions exist. The weaver of fate spawns them freely. That filth lacks combat power—not a threat. Her role's not as a supreme god but a sacrificial idol," Gilgamesh said.

She exists because she's weak, not strong.

A faint hostility crept into Stheno's graceful smile.

"I heard some unfitting words for a goddess—"

"Not a mistake, filth. Don't expect universal praise. I offer only contempt's spit," Gilgamesh retorted.

His disgust is palpable. Does her survival of his purge irk him?

"I'll overlook your island bluster. Keep fawning over barbaric demons like a harlot, strumpet."

His verbal assault rivals Jeanne Alter's taunts. So irreconcileable, yet no intent to harm—just relentless scorn.

"Stop, stop! I know you hate gods, but don't escalate!" Romani pleaded.

"Medusa, your taste is awful, hanging with this savage man. Are your eyes blind too?" Stheno said.

"She's wiser than you, evil god. A monster aiding humanity's salvation outweighs your petty dignity on this rock," Gilgamesh shot back.

"Please, both of you, calm down…" Mash urged.

"Quiet, useless Medusa. Fine. If you insist, witness a goddess' power—"

Her mana and charm surged.

"Your eyes are on me. I'll make you mine to the bone…!"

"Noble Phantasm?! Bad news, Hero King! She's—"

"Don't, Hero King! Big Sister's Phantasm forces charm, defense down, instant death—no damage, hard to use—!" Medusa warned.

"Ready—'Smile of the Goddess'—"

A charming smile.

Irresistible allure.

"Nooo! Hero King charmed?! A goddess' pawn—worse than a final boss!"

"Gil?! You okay?!" Ritsuka cried.

"So adorable! I'm smitten!" Nero gasped.

"Hero King!"

"Are you safe—?!" Mash shouted.

"—What, that's it? A mere glance as a Phantasm? Utter madness," Gilgamesh scoffed, arms crossed, glaring back.

Unfazed.

"Such a boor," Stheno muttered, annoyed.

"No way… Charm didn't work on a man?! That's Big Sister's identity…!" Medusa gasped.

"Medusa, I'll pamper you plenty later," Stheno warned.

"Eek!"

"How're you fine?!" Romani exclaimed.

The Hero King's nature—absolute, immune to all influence, the sole sovereign.

"I've embraced all Uruk's women. I'm immune to adoring gazes," Gilgamesh said.

Seduction won't break him. That's it.

"Want to sway me? Hack my senses with a third-rate channel. Maybe I'll lend my treasures interest-free forever. Beg, vile goddess—no, pathetic goddess! Hahahahaha!"

My existence helps too.

Stripped of lust and desire, I feel only awe for her radiance, nothing more.

Beauty to me is the soul's radiance—Jeanne's martyrdom, Marie's starry love, the Grand Order's oath, their struggles.

No goddess can compare.

"I concede defeat for now," Stheno sighed.

Medusa gaped.

"As a reward for besting a goddess, treasures await in the cave. Take them," Stheno offered.

"Treasure?!" Ritsuka perked up.

"Hmph. Quite meek," Gilgamesh said.

"Big Sister! Don't—tricking Hero King with wealth—!"

"Goddess' treasure? Sounds thrilling! Let's go! It'll be grand!" Nero cheered.

"Treasure, treasure!"

"Senpai…" Mash sighed.

"I'll keep Medusa. This humiliation stings. I'll pamper her plenty," Stheno said.

"Be… careful…" Medusa mumbled, drained.

Let the sisters bond.

"To the cave! …What's wrong, Hero King? Low energy?"

"Just plotting that goddess' punishment," Gilgamesh replied.

Will the goddess' treasure please him?

"What did you do, Jeanne? The member net's in chaos!"

"I served everyone food! They're so kind… I'm glad to be a Heroic Spirit!"

Their grim resolve—is that from her cooking?

"I'll improve myself! Off to the gym, then anime! Bye!"

"Well done, members," Gilgamesh said.

Gotta prepare milk.
