Chapter 52 - [52] His Majesty Sends Me to Represent Humanity in the First Battle

The first match of Ragnarök was of great importance.

If possible, Brunhilde most desired victory in the opening round—it would carry tremendous significance.

But the kings she had found were all ultimate aces. Should she summon them now?

The King of Uruk—Gilgamesh. An exceedingly arrogant man who would surely want to appear in the finale.

The First Emperor—by no means someone who would take the stage first. He would undoubtedly choose an opponent worthy of his status, likely one of the chief gods.

That left King Solomon. This monarch was equally enigmatic and probably wouldn't want the first match either.

Thus, there were no options left. She would have to choose from her originally preferred candidates.

And since the first opponent would likely be Thor, said to possess power rivaling the chief gods, which of her preferred candidates could possibly stand against him?

This man?

"Sister, are you planning to send him for the first match?"

Before her, a virtual screen displayed a man who appeared extraordinarily fierce and brutal—a figure from Eastern history.

The strongest warrior of the Three Kingdoms period—Lü Bu Fengxian.

One of the candidates Brunhilde had researched before proposing Ragnarök in the assembly hall.

"Hmm."

In her original plan, Brunhilde had intended to have this madman fight first.

"Then Randgriz, I leave this to you."

Brunhilde's voice carried solemn gravity as she entrusted this task to her sister.

"Entrust it to Sister Randgriz? Could it be—"

Nearby, Göll paused in realization, her expression growing tense.

The plan was for Randgriz to undergo Divine Weapon Forging with her body, becoming the weapon that would allow this human to battle the gods.

But was it truly acceptable for her sister to become this man's divine weapon?

While her two elder sisters were away observing historical events in the past, Göll idly browsed through several individuals, one of whom—Lü Bu Fengxian—had been mentioned by her sister.

After reviewing this man's past, Göll couldn't help but feel uneasy about Sister Randgriz.

This was a man who had slaughtered countless lives, piling corpses into mountains, only to dismiss it all as "boring."

Such contempt for life left Göll with no fondness for him—only fear.

If possible, she would much rather Randgriz become the divine weapon of King Gilgamesh or King Solomon. Though both kings were terrifying, at least their cruelty was directed only at gods.

But then again, would those kings even need her sister as their weapon?

King Solomon could command the 72 Demon Gods—why would he need a divine weapon?

And King Gilgamesh… didn't he already possess countless divine weapons of his own? Would he even need Randgriz?

"No, Sister Brunhilde, this man is terrible! You don't know how brutal he is!"

Göll protested. She couldn't bear the thought of her beautiful sister Randgriz partnering with someone like that.

"Enough. My decision is final. It's him. Randgriz, I'll leave this to you."

Choosing Randgriz as Lü Bu Fengxian's match wasn't arbitrary—it was based on Randgriz's abilities and Lü Bu's combat prowess.

Then, preparations began to summon him. Confirmed!

However—

"Hmm?"

Brunhilde's brow furrowed slightly. The virtual panel displaying Lü Bu Fengxian's data glowed halfway through the summoning process before suddenly freezing.

"Sister Brunhilde, what's happening?"

Göll tensed as the glowing panel abruptly darkened—not fading away, but as if someone had splashed ink over it, staining the screen black.

In the next instant, a flash of darkness swallowed their entire vision.

When their sight returned—

"Sister Brunhilde!"

Göll shrieked. A hand had suddenly reached out, seizing Brunhilde by the throat and lifting her into the air.

She had warned them not to summon this man who treated life so carelessly.

And now, the first thing he did upon being summoned was attack a Valkyrie!

"Who gave you permission to hand my chosen one to another?"

The owner of the hand spoke in a voice so cold it seemed to freeze the air itself.

"You—!"

Brunhilde, still gasping for breath, recognized the voice instantly. Shock flickered across her face before she let out a bitter laugh.

She hadn't expected him to truly consider Randgriz as his own.

In her focus on the overwhelming power of those kings, she had overlooked him—like a blind spot in the light.

But was he answering the summon now?

Did that mean he intended to replace Lü Bu and become one of humanity's thirteen representatives, fighting in the first round?

If so, then he would indeed be a far more suitable choice than Lü Bu.

Beside them, Randgriz also recognized the voice. Her worried gaze toward Brunhilde grew complicated.

"Lord Conqueror…"

Randgriz murmured softly.

Did he truly favor her? Did he want her to become his Yu Meiren?

But he was already a figure of history.

No—wait. Perhaps he still lived.

After all, he had transferred his soul into a mechanical puppet. He should have gained an extended lifespan.

But can it survive for two thousand years?

"Overlord?"

Göll was momentarily stunned because Sister Randgriz had murmured this. Did Lü Bu Fengxian have such a title?

No, the owner of this hand didn't seem to be Lü Bu Fengxian. Otherwise, the two sisters wouldn't have reacted this way.

The next second, the blackened virtual panel gradually revealed an image—and the person shown was not Lü Bu Fengxian.

It was a man with a handsome yet resolute face, exuding both gentleness and firmness.

What stood out most were his eyes—double pupils.

Then, the virtual panel expanded to the size of a door, and the figure in the image stepped out.

As the virtual image materialized into a physical form, Göll could keenly sense the terrifying aura of bloodlust emanating from him. It was clear he was a madman who had slaughtered countless people.

His towering frame, no less imposing than Lord Thor's, made Göll feel as if she were facing a mountain about to crush her.

Her petite body would surely be flattened if he so much as swatted her.

Despite her fear, Göll mustered her courage and parted her small lips.

"Let go of Brun—"

Just as she bravely spoke up to this point, a single glance from those double pupils gave her the illusion of being killed on the spot, chilling her to the bone.

Her courage was instantly stripped away, leaving her unable to utter another word.

"His Majesty has sent me to represent humanity in the first battle."
