"So this… is the Mangekyo Sharingan?"
Haruma raised his hand to his eyelids and gazed out at the world. Everything was sharper, more vivid, and far clearer than it had ever been with his three tomoe sharingan.
He clicked his tongue lightly.
"This power… it's absurd."
Even without casting any genjutsu, Haruma could already feel it. The mangekyo sharingan was drawing in Yin Release chakra on a completely different scale, dozens of times stronger than before. If the three tomoe sharingan could mobilize a hundred units of Yin chakra, then this new power could easily handle thousands to tens of thousands.
With that kind of strength, even a Tailed Beast would fall to a single glance.
This was Haruma's current power, born from the fusion of his Sage body and his new eyes, it was a combination where one plus one equalled far more than two.
No ordinary mangekyo sharingan could match this power. Even the eternal mangekyo sharingan of most Uchiha would pale before Haruma's.
In the entire history of the ninja world, there had only been two pairs of eternal mangekyo sharingan, those of Madara Uchiha and Sasuke.
Before receiving the Sage of Six Paths' blessing, Sasuke's ocular prowess was inferior to Madara's because Madara had fused Hashirama's cells with his own.
That fusion allowed his pupil power to soar and eventually evolve into the Rinnegan.
Likewise, Haruma's body gave his mangekyo a foundation far beyond that of any ordinary Uchiha and as his body continued to mature, so too would his eyes grow stronger.
Once he fully closed the gap with Indra, the first born of the Sage of Six Paths, his eyes would evolve into a pair of Rinnegan.
"Alright then," Haruma murmured, "what's my unique ability?"
Within the Uchiha clan, strength was often measured by the stage of one's Sharingan.
One tomoe matched a genin, two tomoe matched a chunin and three tomoe matched an elite jonin.
The mangekyo, something only a handful of Uchiha have possessed, represented Kage-level power, the eternal mangekyo surpassed even that, reaching the level of a "Super Kage."
The Rinnegan belonged to those who had reached the level of the Six Paths.
An Uchiha who awakened the mangekyo sharingan was destined to stand among the strongest. Each mangekyo possessed two unique techniques, along with the divine warrior Susanoo, the ultimate embodiment of destruction.
Just a single pair of mangekyo eyes held up to five extraordinary powers, making every user who mastered them a monster among Kage.
Usually, each mangekyo had two unique abilities, one in each eye, however, some possessed only one, like Obito's Kamui or Shisui's Kotoamatsukami.
And almost all were named after gods from Shinto and Japanese mythology.
Haruma's breath caught. His body froze, eyes widened in shock.
He had just discovered his own mangekyo ability.
Its name was Amatsuhiko.
Unlike others who needed time to understand their powers, Haruma's Sage Body led to it's instantaneous revelation.
In his previous life, Amatsuhiko was the grandson of the sun goddess Amaterasu.
Unlike Obito's Kamui dimension or Kaguya's interdimensional spaces, Haruma's Amatsuhiko could not be sensed or entered by others. It existed only within his eyes, connected through the black hole on each of his hands.
He could not transport his body into another dimension like Obito could, nor could he become intangible. Instead, Amatsuhiko acted as an extension of his devouring hand's space.
From this, two incredible powers were born.
The first was a form of resurrection similar to Edo Tensei, but with greater control. Now, those Haruma devoured, whose bodies and souls were once completely consumed, would instead leave behind a tombstone within the Amatsuhiko's own realm.
Each tombstone represented a person Haruma could summon back.
He could call forth these souls, allowing them to return to the real world as corpse-like puppets under his absolute control. Even if they were destroyed again, as long as their tombstone remained intact and Haruma himself lived, he could summon them once more.
The second ability was far more terrifying.
Just as Kamui possessed both offensive and defensive functions, and Kotoamatsukami had permanent and temporary forms, Haruma's also had dual aspects.
The right eye allowed him to transfer fatal damage done to him onto one of the tombstones. In other words, if Haruma suffered a fatal blow, he could let a soul within the realm die in his place.
He would pay only with his occular power.
It was a system of death substitution, his own personal form of immortality.
Haruma stared at his reflection, his breath heavy and trembling.
"To turn those I've devoured into my slaves, and to make them die in my place…"
His lips curved upward, his expression filled with ecstatic disbelief.
"This… this is a river of death itself."
It reminded him of Alucard's power from the anime Hellsing, an immortal being whose army of the dead shielded him from true death. Haruma's own version required chakra and had a limited number of souls, but the concept was the same.
Even so, Amatsuhiko's power was beyond anything imaginable.
Haruma's body trembled as excitement coursed through him.
"This time…" he whispered, his voice filled with awe.
"This time, I am truly inevitable."
