Chapter 48 - Chapter 48: The Edge of Dominion

The desert shook violently, sand and bone raining from above, the jagged spikes of the Bone Demon's domain piercing the air with lethal precision. Phantom titans screamed as they fell to Kairo's chains, yet more arose, relentless, a ceaseless wave of death.

Above the battlefield, Hades' eyes narrowed, cold and unyielding. He watched the chaos unfold, jaw tight, as Kairo twisted and turned under the crushing pressure.

"He's finished," Hades muttered, voice low and final. "No mortal… no one could withstand this. He's beyond his limit."

Veyrith's gaze, calm yet sharp, lingered on Kairo. "Perhaps… but you underestimate him, as you always do."

The Commander roared, his armor splintering further under the fury of his own domain. Bones erupted like forested spikes, chains writhing and snapping, aiming to pierce, crush, and destroy. "You… cannot survive this!" he bellowed, eyes wild with berserk insanity.

Kairo's crimson eyes burned through the chaos. Blood slicked his arms, sweat stung his eyes, his body bruised and torn, yet something deeper ignited within him. The chains rattled, alive, hungry, vibrating in resonance with the Bone Blade strapped to his side.

Time seemed to slow. The wind carried the stench of death, of bone, of fury unchained — and Kairo's aura flared. Crimson-black shadows surged outward, coiling, lashing, bending the bone spikes before them, twisting the very fabric of the Commander's domain.

The Berserk Commander froze, momentarily stunned, as his attacks faltered against the unnatural precision of Kairo's movements. Every strike, every deflection, every counter now carried an oppressive weight. The aura of death pressed down, suffocating, commanding the battlefield.

Kairo's voice, low and cutting like steel, broke through the storm:

"Chains… obey me. Bone… obey me. All of it… belongs to me."

The chains snapped outward, slicing bone spikes in half midair, wrapping around the Commander's spear and pulling it violently. The phantom titans shattered under a flurry of crimson-black power.

Hades blinked, a flash of surprise crossing his otherwise unreadable features. "Impossible…" he muttered. "He should be finished… yet he bends death itself to his will."

The Commander's roar turned into a growl of confusion and rage. His berserk fury could no longer compensate for the overwhelming presence of Kairo's awakened aura. The desert itself seemed to bow to the boy of Hell, every chain, every bone spike, now an instrument of his dominion.

Kairo advanced, chains coiling like living serpents around him. His eyes were a crimson promise — the Bone Demon's reign of destruction would end here.

The stage was set. The final moves of the battle were approaching, and the Bone Blade waited to claim its rightful master.
