The courtyard was dispersing, but clusters of students still lingered, whispering about the impossible duel that had ended in a handshake. Some laughed, some looked uneasy, and others already measured themselves against this new force.
In the middle of it all, Riven scratched the back of his head, sword balanced lazily on his shoulder. Kairo stood beside him, pale and silent, his crimson eyes scanning the crowd.
Finally, Riven broke the silence.
"Well… if we're a faction now, guess we need a name."
Kairo blinked. Slowly. "…A name?"
"Yeah." Riven shrugged. "Can't just walk into the hall and say, 'Hi, we're the new guys with no name.'"
Kairo tilted his head, bone blade dissolving into nothing. He stared blankly for a long moment before muttering,
"…Scar Division."
Riven snorted, nearly choking. "That sounds like a butcher's guild, not a faction."
Kairo frowned faintly. "Then… Bone Fire."
There was silence. Then Riven barked a laugh so loud students turned to stare. "Bone Fire?! You just mashed our stuff together!"
Kairo's crimson eyes narrowed. "…Better than Scar Division."
The two glared at each other like children fighting over scraps.
That was when a third voice cut through, dry and amused.
"You're both hopeless."
Igron strolled over, arms folded, smirk dancing on his lips. His eyes gleamed with mischief as he looked between them.
"Honestly, two of the deadliest idiots in this academy and not a brain cell between you when it comes to names."
Riven rolled his eyes. "You got something better, genius?"
Igron tapped his chin, pretending to think. Then his grin widened.
"Scars and survival. Bone and steel. Fire and shadow. Call it Eclipse Faction."
The word hung in the air, weighty, final. Even Kairo's crimson eyes seemed to flicker faintly at the sound.
Riven gave a slow, reluctant nod. "…Not bad."
Kairo tilted his head once more. "…Acceptable."
Igron spread his arms dramatically, bowing mockingly. "See? Leave the thinking to me. You two just look scary and break things."
And with that, the new faction had its name.
