Chapter 67 - Guided by Touch

Felix leaned back in his chair, stretching his arms as if to shake off the lingering warmth of the sun.

The light still played along his face, but his gaze had turned inward, thoughtful.

"I think I've had enough for today," he said quietly, his tone a soft declaration.

Victor tilted his head, a performance of disappointment. "Already? I was just starting to enjoy our little talk."

Felix's lips curved in that same gentle, inscrutable smile. "The sun will still be here tomorrow." He rose slowly, brushing invisible dust from his shirt. "But right now… I'd rather rest."

Victor's grin lingered, sharp at the edges. "Always slipping away when it's just getting interesting."

Felix paused for a single heartbeat, then met his eyes with a calm that felt like a wall. "Or maybe I know when enough is enough."

The quiet weight in his voice held Victor in place, and for once, he offered no retort.

Jianyu stepped forward instantly, a shadow aligning itself with its source.
