Chapter 12 - Chapter 10.5 Interlude: “Alternate Timeline Terminated – The Headsets Come Off”

Everything had gone according to panic.

Lu had returned the money.

Gojo had been comforted.

Petitions were signed.

The multiverse was approaching.

And Lu had managed to master at least 20% of his powers.

He stood in front of the dimensional ripple, cracked knuckles trembling, smirk twitching in confidence.

They were ready.

The apartment was silent.

Time slowed.

A white crack in space opened before them.

The invasion was here.

And Then—Everything Turned Black

Just as the first ripple twisted open into their living room—

the entire world flickered.

Their surroundings turned static.

The lights dimmed.

G.L.U.E. went silent.

And then—

"Simulation complete."

One by One, the Headsets Came Off

Lu gasped—ripping off a strange VR headset with divine markings burned into the sides.

His first breath wasn't digital.

It was real.

The real dimensional pathway buzzed around him.

He looked down.

He wasn't on Earth.

He hadn't been for a long time.

He was still mid-transit between dimensions.

Trapped in a paused moment—a fork in possibility.

A timeline that could have happened.

But didn't.

And then—

WHAM.

From behind, a glowing gauntlet decked him straight across the jaw.

Gojo & Subaki – Same Fate

Back in their realm, just seconds before leaving for Earth—

A shimmer appeared.

Dozens of gods in full divine gear emerged from the rift like an army of glowing debt collectors.

One dropped from the sky and slapped a reality-override VR headset on Gojo like it was standard protocol.

Another threw one at Subaki mid-air, pinning her to the temple wall.

All at once—

Click.

And everything they thought happened…

Vanished.

The Real World

The three of them came to, eyes adjusting.

Surrounded.

Hundreds—no, thousands of beings.

MCs. Gods. Divine debt enforcers. Dimensional bounty hunters.

All standing in one void-chamber beyond space and time.

And every single one of them?

Was here for one reason.

"Lu."

"Gojo."

"Subaki."

"You're not escaping this time."

Gojo looked around.

"Wait… this isn't Earth—"

"CORRECT."

Lu sat up, rubbing his jaw.

"Okay okay, just to be clear—was that whole timeline fake?"

"Yes."

Subaki:

"But the money—?"

"Real."

Lu:

"The ramen—?"

"Real."

Gojo:

"…The 5 yen?"

"Very. Real."

Then Came the Beatdown

There was no discussion.

No monologues.

No dramatic speeches.

They didn't even get a chance to defend themselves.

The moment the headsets came off, fists came down.

One god dropkicked Lu into a reality fracture. Another blasted Gojo with an unpaid-debt energy beam. Subaki got suplexed by a multi-armed MC who had waited centuries for this moment.

Even G.L.U.E., now free-floating and self-aware, whispered:

"...You earned this."

The divine punishment was brutal.

Majestic.

Biblical.

And somehow… hilarious.

As Lu lay twitching, buried halfway into a crater made of cosmic taxes, he weakly mumbled:

"This… didn't happen…"

And Gojo, missing a shoe, groaned:

"Shut up. It happened.

And the 5 yen still hurts."
