Chapter 1 - Chapter One · Holding This Line

"ColdGod, stay steady! This is our last shot—"

Lin Xiao Che's voice cracked over the headset.

A jolt hit Gu Qinghan's chest. The usually cheerful, optimistic kid… was actually scared this time.

The screen showed a nearly hopeless battle. The enemy team controlled the economy, and their crystal was down to just ten percent health. The crowd fell silent, the commentator's voice trembling as he counted down: "Starry Team only has one player left—Gu Qinghan. Can he pull off a miracle?!"

Gu Qinghan's palms were soaked with sweat. Old injuries throbbed painfully with every click of the mouse, like needles stabbing into his skin. He knew that even one tiny mistake would shatter their crystal—and their hopes.

Two years ago, he was the legendary "ColdGod" of esports—sharp reflexes, brilliant instincts, standing at the peak of his game. But a sudden hand injury tore him away from the spotlight. Retirement, doubt, disappearance. Now, as both captain and coach, he'd rebuilt Starry Team from the ground up.

This match wasn't just a game. It was their future. It was his refusal to give up.

"ColdGod—" Lin Xiao Che's voice came again, shaky but resolute. "I believe in you."

Gu Qinghan closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He couldn't fall—not now. Behind him were his teammates, and that boy who always smiled at him so brightly.

"Let's go all out!"

His fingers sped up. His character darted across the screen, pulling off impossible moves, killing an enemy, then diving into their backline in one swift combo!

The crowd erupted. The commentator's voice cracked with excitement: "ColdGod is still in the fight! He's not down yet!"

All the light and heat focused back on one name—ColdGod.
