Chapter 36 - The Night Before the Leap

At the edge of the stratosphere, wind pressure surged and the magnetic field thinned. Twelve aerial beasts circled high above. Six riders sat steady on their backs, the sky stretching wide like an ocean.

Just as they prepared to ascend further, Lu Ye's Eye of the World picked up an anomaly.

"There's a plane over there," he said quietly.

He Xuan confirmed:

"Private model. Full magnetic shielding. Flight ceiling reaches outer layers."

Zhao Yang narrowed his eyes.

"We want it."

They landed beside the wing. The pilot was just about to start the engine— a young man, lean and wary.

"Who are you?" he asked.

Chen Mo stepped forward.

"We want your plane." "You can hand it over—or die."

The man didn't flinch.

"I have defensive abilities." "You can't kill me."

Hu Hao scanned him.

"Tier 2. Defense type. Magnetic density is high."

Lin Lan flipped open his notebook.

"But no offense. Just shielding."

Zhao Yang smiled.

"Then it's simple."

Lu Ye stepped forward without a word. He raised his right hand. Magnetic pressure surged. His palm came down.

The man's defense layer activated instantly, forming a translucent shield.

But Lu Ye's power wasn't explosive— it was penetrating.

His strike hit the man's chest. Magnetic layers peeled away. Defensive structure collapsed. Consciousness shattered.

The man fell. No life signal remained.

He Xuan spoke quietly:

"He didn't submit."

Chen Mo nodded.

"Then he chose wrong."

The plane was intact. Magnetic field stable. But it couldn't survive outer-layer conditions.

Zhao Yang inspected the frame.

"Wind pressure is fine. Radiation isn't."

Hu Hao synced the field.

"We need a protective membrane."

Lin Lan stood by the wing, eyes closed. He activated Weather Forecast, simulating a high-altitude cold storm.

Magnetic energy condensed, forming a translucent atmospheric membrane that wrapped around the entire aircraft.

He Xuan recorded:

"Membrane generated. Thickness sufficient to block radiation and temperature shifts."

Chen Mo tapped the hull.

"This plane's ours now."

Lu Ye entered the cockpit and started the engine. The aerial beasts circled above, magnetic fields synced— ready to follow.

Zhao Yang pulled down his hat.

"We're not just flying." "We're leaving Earth."

Altitude climbed. Magnetic field grew unstable.

He Xuan warned:

"Any higher, and the body won't hold."

Hu Hao spoke softly:

"We need protection."

Lin Lan closed his eyes. Weather Forecast activated again— this time simulating lunar conditions.

Extreme cold. Low pressure. Weak magnetic field. Radiation disturbance.

He was forecasting the future.

Magnetic energy condensed. Each person gained a fitted atmospheric membrane— not clothing, but an environmental adaptation layer with temperature control, radiation shielding, and magnetic sync.

Zhao Yang looked at the membrane on his arm.

"Is this… a spacesuit?"

Lin Lan nodded.

"Not worn. Generated." "It listens to me."

Chen Mo rolled his shoulders.

"Better looking than the military's."

He Xuan recorded:

"Weather Forecast · Application Level: High Adaptation · Status: Stable."

Lu Ye looked into the distance.

"We're ready now."

Just before breaking Earth's boundary, Zhao Yang's magnetic field began to tremble.

Hu Hao sensed it.

"You're changing."

Zhao Yang spoke quietly.

"I touched the metal."

It was a lunar sample— previously detected by Lu Ye, pulled into the cabin by He Xuan's magnetic tether.

Zhao Yang had only brushed it— but his internal field began to restructure.

Lin Lan observed.

"Your blood mist is shifting."

He Xuan confirmed.

"Magnetic frequency is adjusting. Your body is shedding the vampiric structure."

Chen Mo frowned.

"You're not afraid of sunlight anymore?"

Zhao Yang didn't answer. He simply looked out at the light.

Lu Ye spoke softly.

"The Moon is calling you."

The plane broke through the final wind barrier. Magnetic field fractured. Wind pressure vanished. Light began to distort.

The aerial beasts circled at the edge— unable to rise further. They had reached their limit.

Lin Lan closed his eyes. Weather Forecast launched one final simulation— low pressure, no wind, weak field, static radiation.

The suits adjusted. Magnetic sync complete.

Zhao Yang stood at the hatch, hat off, eyes calm. Chen Mo clenched his gauntlets—field steady. Hu Hao synced in silence—consciousness clear. He Xuan logged the final data. Lu Ye activated the leap protocol.

The plane began to break free from Earth's gravity. Magnetic field collapsed. Wind pressure disappeared. Light warped.

They didn't look back.
