Chapter 118 - Chapter 119: Universe, School

Chapter 119: Universe, School

Apokolips.

From the site of the ancient hall, a bottomless chasm opened in the ground, stretching all the way to the edge of Apocalypse City. Thin black smoke rose from its depths.

Snap!

A thick arm shot out from the chasm, gripping the fractured ground beside it. From the darkness, a pair of eyes crackled with red lightning.

Pain, anger, coldness, and merciless intent radiated from them.

A demonic voice rasped:

"Earth, I will come for you!"

No matter what—the most powerful existence—would be his to command.

...

Somewhere in the universe, above a distant planet, a massive super interstellar warship hovered.

Inside the dim hall of the ship, with the vast cosmos visible through the windows, sat a bald figure with a purple-tinted, rough-textured body, reminiscent of Darkseid's towering presence.

"Master, Loki has utterly failed. Not only did he lose a fleet, but he also lost the Mind Stone." An elderly alien in a tidy uniform floated into the hall and knelt respectfully before the figure.

Thanos remained expressionless, resting one hand on the armrest while supporting his face with his fist. "Gamora, have you located her?"

"Not yet." Ebony Maw, one of the Black Order, shook his head. "She should be heading toward the extraterrestrial civilizations in the galaxy. I've contacted Ronan to locate the crucial primordial stone and keep an eye on Gamora's movements."

Thanos narrowed his eyes, calm but resolute. "Send the Nova Corps. She can find Gamora. Gamora is indispensable. Bring her back immediately."

"Yes, Master." Ebony Maw bowed.

Thanos asked, "Have you located the Dwarves' settlement?"

"Shrinking the search area. Should be confirmed soon."

"Good." Thanos lightly nodded, lowering his arm from the chair, clenching his fist. "Once everything is ready, it will be time for me to go to Earth."

"Then they will understand, I am inevitable!"

...

In the Nine Realms, Asgard.

Inside the divine palace, a small isolated prison reinforced with an extremely strong mystical barrier.

The tiny cell could barely fit a mattress.

Loki, handsome but devilishly charming, awoke in a sweat, his back soaked, hair damp, goosebumps covering his skin.

His first reaction was to clutch his chest. Though the wound had healed, the touch still brought searing pain.

So painful!

"Right… I'm not on Earth anymore. I failed. I almost died…" Loki murmured, then collapsed back on the bed, exhausted.

He had lost count of how many times he had awoken like this.

In his dreams, the last image was always the youth in the silver Spider suit, that one strike—

The silver metallic web piercing a clone's forehead, the dagger thrust through his body…

Even recalling it now made Loki shiver and curl slightly.

That fear had been etched deep into his body and soul.

"I won't go to Earth again."

Loki whispered, closing his eyes, uncertain of his fate.

...

Earth.

Washington, a regular apartment. A simple single bedroom.

"Master, time to get up for breakfast, or you'll be late for school!" Xi Nian woke to the familiar, cheerful call of his crimson maid.

The black-haired boy yawned and stretched, watching a tiny girl dart to the window and pull back the curtains. Soft, chilly morning light poured into the room.

"I thought today was the weekend."

Xi Nian mumbled, rubbing his messy hair.

"No, it's Friday." Wanda replied, bustling off.

"It's been three days since then," Xi Nian murmured, tossing the blanket aside, putting on his shoes, and moving to the wardrobe.

He opened the bottom drawer and lifted a white shirt, revealing quietly folded beneath: a black-and-white Spider suit and a dark cloak suit with the 'S' family emblem.

Strange suits were increasingly accumulating.

Xi Nian silently closed the drawer and opened the top section of the wardrobe, taking out a normal long-sleeve outfit.

After washing and changing,

Xi Nian joined Xiao Huang for breakfast. The TV still replayed the alien events from a few days ago.

Thanks to the Justice League's debut battle and Superman's miraculous resurrection, news outlets credited them with stopping the alien invasion.

After all,

Who would suspect that the entity who almost single-handedly resolved the invasion was just a high school student still attending classes?

Xi Nian breathed a quiet sigh of relief. It avoided unnecessary attention.

He knew this was largely orchestrated by his aunt behind the scenes. The world was focused on Superman's revival, not on the sun-like figure that had appeared in the sky.

...

After eliminating Apocalypse's hidden forces on Earth, Xi Nian finally returned to a relatively normal life.

The only downside—

His aunt's evening practice sessions were temporarily paused, said to give him proper rest.

For a studious Xi Nian, this was a cruel punishment.

"Master, what's wrong?"

Wanda asked, curious about his gloomy expression.

"Nothing." Xi Nian shook his head, then remembered something. "By the way, this weekend you're going to a place to study. I've arranged a teacher for you."

"A teacher? Learning what?" Wanda tilted her head, her crimson twin tails swaying.

Cute.

Xi Nian said, "Stay home on Saturday. Someone will pick you up at 10 AM. You'll see then."

"Okay, I'll learn whatever you want me to." Wanda suppressed her curiosity and nodded obediently.

She had no idea what kind of world she was about to step into.
