SWWW Chapter 215: Civilization's Graveyard, Two Gods Meet
"My god! Does he have a death wish?!"
"What is he doing!?"
Jane Foster and Darcy Lewis both cried out in shock, the kids nearby letting out sharp screams of their own.
Whoosh—!
The red trench coat on Xi Nian's body flared upward. With determined eyes, the black-haired boy and the little orange cat clinging to his shoulder plunged straight down from the tenth floor!
Falling, falling, falling—
The staircases of the abandoned factory blurred past him in reverse.
Until, when he had naturally fallen about five stories down, his entire body suddenly slipped into nothingness, vanishing just like the objects that had been tossed earlier!
…
Still falling—
Xi Nian, who had vanished inside the Paris factory, suddenly appeared in a dim and mysterious place. His body was still in a freefall state, brushing past floating fragments of black dust that looked like broken meteor stones.
"Levitation!"
At his command, the hem of his red trench coat flared, stopping his descent midair. With Xiao Huang's head poking out of his collar, the two of them quickly scanned the strange place they had entered.
Alice's voice came through his earpiece: "Master, there is no signal here. You are outside Earth's range…"
"I figured as much," Xi Nian said gravely.
One look was enough.
This unknown place was almost completely dark, with no visible light sources. Vast yet sealed, it carried a suffocating sense of confinement.
A few shattered black mountain-like structures floated nearby, surrounded by countless fragments of stone.
Clearly, this was not anywhere on Earth.
Dark, silent, empty, mysterious…
Like a graveyard of cosmic civilizations, the air reeked of decay.
Air?
Xi Nian's eyes narrowed. He had assumed this was outer space, debris from some shattered planet. But there was breathable air here.
That only made it stranger.
Every detail here violated the laws of physics, filled with eerie, sinister energy.
Buzz!!
The silver chain on Xi Nian's neck suddenly floated upward, the pendant glowing brightly blue despite Xiao Huang's paw batting at it.
Ripples of blue light spread outward.
The Space Necklace lit up like a lighthouse in endless darkness, radiating an eternal warmth that drove away the encroaching shadows.
Xi Nian didn't have time to wonder what this place truly was. With the necklace steadying his perception, his Spider-Sense sharpened once again.
"There!"
He pointed toward one of the floating black mountains. At once, the red trench coat surged forward, carrying him into the abyssal rift within the mountain.
"Meow!"
Xiao Huang suddenly cried out, eyes glowing.
"Wanda!"
Xi Nian saw her too.
Inside the cavern of the mountain, beside an enormous pillar no human hands could have made, a girl in a dress with scarlet hair lay collapsed on the ground.
Xi Nian landed immediately, kneeling to lift Wanda's small, delicate body.
The moment his hand touched her, he felt it—her skin was cold, lacking the warmth of life.
"Wanda. I'm here now. You're safe."
Holding her tighter, Xi Nian pressed her against his chest, trying to warm her with his own body heat.
The red trench coat billowed forward, wrapping gently around her as if to keep her warm too.
"Alice."
"Master, her vital signs are very weak," Alice reported quickly.
"That's impossible! It hasn't been that long, and Wanda is already a mage. Her vitality should be far beyond an ordinary human's!"
Xi Nian's pupils contracted as he hugged her closer.
"The cause cannot be determined for now. Medical equipment is required to analyze further," Alice replied.
"Medical equipment…"
Xi Nian's eyes lit up. Still holding Wanda with one arm, he gripped the glowing Space Necklace with the other.
A relic crafted by the Ancient One using the Space Stone.
It could teleport its wielder—and others—to places they had already visited.
The pendant flared. Blue radiance flowed through his fingers, enveloping Xi Nian, Wanda, and Xiao Huang.
In the blink of an eye—
They were gone.
…
Washington, First Hospital.
This was the last hospital Xi Nian had visited after obtaining the Space Necklace.
They materialized at the hospital entrance, and Xi Nian, holding Wanda, floated in through a sixth-floor window into an operating room, guided by Alice.
The room happened to be empty, fully equipped with medical devices.
Xi Nian laid the unconscious Wanda gently on the operating table, preparing to follow Alice's instructions to set up the equipment.
But just then, the door swung open.
A doctor in a clean white coat, hair graying at the temples, entered while flipping through a chart. Seeing the boy and the girl inside, he froze. "What are you doing here?"
He clearly remembered this room was only for teaching demonstrations today, not for patients.
"My family member fainted. I need to use this equipment. Could you please not make a fuss?" Xi Nian said plainly.
If the man didn't agree, Xi Nian had already decided—he'd have to knock him out.
Unseen by the doctor, Xiao Huang crouched silently at the doorway behind him.
"I…"
The doctor looked at Xi Nian, then at Wanda on the table. His expression hardened. "I am the most qualified doctor here. Let me help you!"
…
Meanwhile—
Paris, abandoned factory.
Jane and Darcy had been forced out of the building.
Local officials had discovered them and called the police. Several patrol cars were now parked outside.
"We're an astrophysics research team… You should be more concerned about a missing boy! Yes, a Chinese boy, about sixteen…" Jane was explaining while showing her credentials.
Suddenly, thunder cracked above. The sunny skies darkened, and heavy rain poured down without warning!
The factory owner, police officers, and kids all rushed inside, drenched.
"Jane, look!" Darcy suddenly yelped.
Jane looked down—she wasn't wet.
The rain avoided her completely, while Darcy and the others were soaked through.
Rumble!
Thunder roared again!
A tall blond man clad in strange silver armor, a red cape draped over his shoulders, and a hammer in hand stood in the factory yard. Not a single raindrop touched him either.
"Jane."
Thor smiled, hair disheveled but confident. He started forward, then froze. His expression turned serious as he glanced across the yard.
Because there—
A tall, elegant black-haired woman stepped gracefully inside, carrying a glass jar with a radiant starfish inside.
Like Jane and Thor, not a single drop of rain touched her.
And more—
The rain poured on half the yard, while the other half remained perfectly dry, the boundary sharp as a blade.
Above the rainless half of the sky, a pale white crescent moon broke proudly through the clouds, hanging against the deep blue backdrop.
