Chapter 2 - Chapter - 2 They come

It began with silence.

Then came the lights in the sky.

Then cities vanished.

No invasion. No demands.

Just entire populations gone in minutes.

We called them aliens at first.

But they didn't behave like conquerors.

They didn't speak.

They didn't stop.

---

They moved like physics didn't apply.

Bullets passed through them.

Bombs only delayed them.

Even nukes couldn't scratch their armor.

Our armies fell.

Our satellites collapsed.

Entire continents lost contact within weeks.

That's when we realized:

> They didn't come to invade.

They came to erase us.

---

Earth's last option was a machine.

A desperate experiment called Project Genesis.

It could rewrite DNA—splice alien code into human cells.

The process was painful, unstable, and almost always fatal.

But it worked… sometimes.

---

Step in:

If your body adapts, you evolve.

If it rejects the rewrite, you die.

Simple as that.

---

Thousands volunteered.

Soldiers. Scientists. Teenagers. Parents.

Most never walked out.

Some did.

The lucky ones were faster, stronger, smarter.

They saw in colors we couldn't name.

They moved like thought.

We called them The Evolved.

---

But by then, it was too late.

The enemy disappeared—vanished without a trace.

No peace talks. No final attack.

Just silence… like the job was done.

---

The war was over.

But victory never came.

Only ruins. Only ghosts.

Project Genesis was shut down.

And the Evolved? They scattered. Into exile. Into myth.

Until now.

---

A signal has returned.

Strong. Silent. Headed for Earth.

> And whatever it is… it remembers everything.
