Chapter 34 - Spend the night with me

Lisa wouldn't stop talking.

Elias sat on the edge of the couch, hands tucked between his knees as she paced the living-room rug like she was about to chew through it. Her expression was frozen in an alternating loop of horror and guilt.

"I swear—I swear on my mother's grave, I didn't mean for that to happen," Lisa blurted out, wringing her hands. "I slipped and I grabbed him by mistake like this, Elias. He fell on top of me like this because I pulled him. It was a honest mistake. Okay?"

But Elias wasn't really listening. His brain was still reeling from Cassian's mouth, Cassian's hands, Cassian's everything imprinting itself all over him. He still felt it. Everywhere.

His lips tingled. His face felt too warm. His pulse hadn't slowed since Cassian walked out to "handle something" and left him alone to recover from… whatever that had been.
