Chapter 110: Suppression
As these thoughts flashed through his mind, Colin's actions didn't stop.
Grabbing May Parker with one hand, he slowly ascended, propelled by his [Flight] ability.
"Ah!"
Seeing that he was about to leave with Spider-Man, Songbird, having regained her senses, quickly opened her mouth and let out a piercing scream.
The formless sound waves from her scream materialized into tangible energy, rushing toward Colin in mid-air.
Facing the ultrasonic wave attack, Colin's eyes glowed with a scorching red light. Two red beams of [Heat Vision] shot out from his eyes in an instant, colliding with the ultrasonic scream emitted by Songbird.
Boom!
The aftershock from the collision of the two powers unleashed a massive impact across the hospital roof.
Faced with the shockwave from their battle, even someone as insane as the Green Goblin didn't dare to get close.
It controlled the glider beneath it, dodging to the side. As it looked at the Spider-Man in Colin's hand, a twisted glint flashed in the eyes behind its mask.
Feeling the scorching heat from Colin's [Heat Vision], the sweat on Songbird's forehead soaked her pink and white hair. She took a deep breath, opened her mouth wide, and even more formless sound waves vibrated from her vocal cords, enveloping her entire body in a faint layer of energy.
At the same time, a scream even more piercing than before rang out.
Sensing the immense energy coming from Songbird, Colin decisively retracted his [Heat Vision] and, holding Spider-Man, sidestepped to dodge the impact of the ultrasonic wave.
Clearly, his [Heat Vision], still only at the [Black Iron] level, was no match for Songbird's full-powered ultrasonic wave.
[Contact with Twisted Time Node, a small amount of Time Shard ×2 collected]
However, Colin felt no frustration over this. After all, just a few months ago, he was just an ordinary news reporter.
But now, by continuously collecting [Time Shards] and [Faith], he had already unlocked powers capable of contending with the Thunderbolts.
The moment Colin sidestepped the ultrasonic wave, the Green Goblin, who had been waiting for an opportunity, shot forward on its glider with a sharp, maniacal laugh.
It swung its fist, cackling as it aimed for Colin's head.
For the Green Goblin to dare to attack after witnessing Colin's fight with Crossbones showed its immense confidence in its own abilities.
In fact, although the 'Human Enhancement Formula' he had injected himself with caused the negative emotions in his heart to expand continuously and devour his positive ones, turning him into the crazed Green Goblin who knew only destruction and slaughter...
It had also granted it superhuman strength and a genius-level intellect.
Green Goblin had experimented before; after being enhanced by the 'Human Enhancement Formula,' it could easily lift an automobile.
Pow!
The two fists collided, creating a loud sound in the air.
The next moment, however, the expression under Green Goblin's grotesque mask twisted. Under the impact of Colin's [Super Strength], its entire body wobbled and was sent flying back several meters before it could stabilize itself. At the same time, the armor on its arm fractured into a web of cracks from the powerful impact.
[Contact with Twisted Time Node, a small amount of Time Shard ×2 collected]
His gaze swept over the text that had appeared. Seeing that the last [Time Shard] from the Green Goblin had been collected...
Colin didn't linger. Grabbing Spider-Man with one hand, he vanished from mid-air with a loud sonic boom.
Watching his disappearing back, the Green Goblin clutched its injured arm and let out a suppressed laugh.
If anyone were observing at this moment, they would see that as it laughed, the wounds on its arm were healing at a speed visible to the naked eye.
"Collin Roper, hahaha, interesting, ahahahaha..."
...
"It's... actually Aunt May?!"
Controlling his descent, Colin looked at the still-unconscious Spider-Man in his hand.
He stared at the note on the [Time Shard (May Parker)] in his vision, repeatedly checking to make sure he wasn't mistaken.
Only then did he take a deep breath and accept the fact that the Spider-Man of this Anti-World was May Parker.
He turned his head to look at the unconscious Spider-Man beside him.
Colin activated his [Super X-Ray Vision], adjusting it to see the face beneath the mask.
Without a doubt, this world's Aunt May was younger than he had imagined, perhaps due to the effects of the mutation.
But, no matter how young she was, Aunt May was still Aunt May.
Just how twisted had the [Twisted Time Node] become to make May Parker into Spider-Man?
So, in this world, Peter Parker was just Peter Parker, not Spider-Man.
Perhaps this wasn't a bad thing for Peter.
Recalling Spidey's many hardships, Colin found it difficult to accurately define whether becoming Spider-Man was a blessing or a curse for him.
After becoming Spider-Man, Peter gained a lot, but he also lost much more.
Of course, no matter what, at least in this world...
Peter Parker no longer needed to worry about it, because the one who became Spider-Man was not him, but May Parker.
Averting his gaze from the face under May Parker's mask, Colin tried his best to accept this bizarre situation.
Fortunately, he was already used to the various [Twisted Time Nodes] in the Anti-World. One more May Parker version of Spider-Man wasn't anything too special.
He silently convinced himself.
Colin refocused his attention on the [Time Shard (May Parker)].
As he watched, countless figures began to float within the shard, which resembled a piece of broken glass. He saw the figure of May Parker, bitten by a spider and gaining the powers of Spider-Man. She used a sewing machine to make her own suit and became Spider-Man.
However, one night, when facing a criminal who broke in to rob them, May Parker's spider powers went out of control. In a blurry green light, Colin could see a figure step forward to try and stop her, only to be sent flying by the out-of-control May. Finally, a sobered May Parker knelt over the figure on the ground, saying something over and over, before a much blurrier figure appeared, shouting.
Although the scene presented in the [Time Shard (May Parker)] was extremely blurry...
Colin was still able to identify some of the people based on his knowledge.
Without a doubt, the one who tried to stop the out-of-control May Parker must have been the legendary Uncle Ben, Ben Parker.
From this perspective, it was hard to say whether the identity of Spider-Man was a blessing or a curse.
But for Ben Parker, it was undoubtedly a curse.
After all, no matter which world it was, he was destined to be sacrificed because of Spider-Man. This was a future that not even the [Twisted Time Node] could distort.
