Chapter 147 - Chapter 149: Public Registration

Chapter 149: Public Registration

May 02, 2023 Author: Yue Shang Xintou

"Green Goblin Appears, Identity Revealed as Harry Osborn?!"

"The Osborn Group Heir is the Green Goblin!"

"The Registration Act sees new changes as Osborn heir, Harry Osborn, publicly reveals his identity."

...

"Yes, that's right, I am the Green Goblin!"

On the television screen, Harry Osborn, or rather, the second-generation Green Goblin, removed the ferocious demon mask from his head, revealing his somber face.

Standing behind him were the Thunderbolts members Songbird Melissa and Black Widow Natasha.

This was the Federal Government's show of support for Harry's public revelation.

Harry Osborn was no ordinary person, after all. As the heir to the Osborn Group, the public disclosure of his identity served as a significant demonstration for the Superhero Registration Act.

"Mr. Harry Osborn, it is rumored that the recently appearing Hobgoblin also claims to be the incarnation of the Green Goblin. What are your thoughts on this?"

"The Hobgoblin is just a petty thief, a common burglar!"

The Hobgoblin was the individual who suddenly appeared in New York City after Osborn's death.

He wore rudimentary equipment and a Halloween-like demon mask while committing crimes.

Because the flying device and armor he used were very similar to the previous Green Goblin, many people believed the Hobgoblin to be the incarnation of the Green Goblin, and the Hobgoblin himself also claimed this.

"...Next, I will be participating in the Thunderbolts' operations, using the identity of the Green Goblin to protect the citizens of New York from superhuman criminals like Spider-Man, who hides his face and opposes registration without government permission!"

...

The Green Goblin's press conference announcing his public identity undoubtedly caused a massive stir.

Everyone was discussing the Green Goblin's identity and its impact on the Registration Act.

Although, prior to this, the Green Goblin's actions had no connection to superheroes, with the endorsement of the Federal Government and the Thunderbolts, the Green Goblin, or rather Harry Osborn, seemed to have successfully rehabilitated his past image.

At the same time, the Superhuman Activities Oversight Committee used this opportunity to release the newly amended regulations for the Superhero Registration Act, stating that 'Superheroes' who participate in registration possess a form of amnesty rights, as long as they are willing to accept the Federal Government's summons and cooperate with operations.

The announcement of the new regulations undoubtedly caused a shockwave in the ongoing standoff between the registration and anti-registration factions.

It also drew supervillains, who were originally not covered by the regulations, into this battlefield.

"Kent, we need news on Harry Osborn!"

At Anti-World, at the Frontline Press.

Ben Urich reacted immediately as he watched the press conference footage.

"This is an opportunity. You've had contact with the Green Goblin before…"

In fact, the Green Goblin I had contact with was Norman Osborn, not the Harry Osborn on television.

As one of the few who knew the truth, Colin understood.

Harry Osborn at the press conference was not the Green Goblin, or at least not the original one.

After all, the [Time Shard] had already provided the answer.

However, Harry Osborn's decision to hold a press conference to publicly reveal his identity somewhat surprised him.

Clearly, this second-generation Green Goblin, who inherited Osborn's, or rather the Green Goblin's, legacy, was in some ways more unhinged than the first generation.

"No problem, I'll go right away."

With that thought, Colin nodded in understanding.

In fact, whether Ben Urich had requested it or not, Colin intended to approach Harry Osborn. He was interested in both this second-generation Green Goblin and the so-called Hobgoblin.

Moreover, in a way, he was the other party's 'father's killer.'

...

A large number of reporters had gathered in front of the Osborn Group.

Unlike most superheroes who had revealed their identities, Harry Osborn was one of the few 'superheroes' who owned his own company.

The Osborn Group he inherited had always maintained good relations with the military and was a competitor to HYDRA in the field of biotechnology research.

The 'Human Enhancement Formula' that Osborn had injected earlier was the group's latest research product.

It was just that Osborn had incorrectly calculated a certain formula, leading to a flaw in the formula's effect. While it enhanced his body, it also affected his mind, splitting off dangerous personalities like the Green Goblin, ultimately leading him down a path of self-destruction.

And Harry Osborn seemed to be repeating the elder Osborn's path, only he was acting even more erratically.

"He's coming out, he's coming out…"

"Mr. Harry Osborn, I'm… a reporter, could you please…"

Weaving through the crowd of reporters, Colin, using his [Super Hearing], sensed the movement within the Osborn Group earlier than his fellow journalists.

Amidst the jostling throng, he carefully controlled his strength, avoiding a 'tragedy' similar to what happened with the first-generation Green Goblin, as he moved toward Harry Osborn's location.

As Colin approached, Harry Osborn emerged, protected by a phalanx of bodyguards.

Facing the eager reporters outside the Osborn Group, Harry Osborn had no intention of engaging with them initially.

His objectives had already been clearly stated during the press conference.

"Harry Osborn, I am Clark Kent, a reporter from Frontline. I previously took photos of you and Spider-Man at the Daily Bugle News Agency. May I ask you a few questions?"

Seeing Harry quickly heading toward his car, Colin immediately called out his identity.

Clearly, the information revealed by Colin caught Harry Osborn's attention.

He stopped his movement toward the car, signaled to his bodyguards, and then, waved through by them, Colin reached Harry Osborn.

"You took photos of me before?"

Looking at Colin, Harry immediately inquired.

"Yes, Mr. Harry Osborn, here's proof."

Colin took out the Frontline newspaper with the Green Goblin's photograph from his pocket. Harry looked at the photo of the figure bound tightly by webbing in the ruins, a hint of sadness in his eyes. He quickly composed himself, took the newspaper, and said, "It's you, I remember now…"

"I didn't expect you, Mr. Harry Osborn, to remember someone like me."

"I don't think someone who dares to take photos like that is an insignificant person."

"Actually, I always remember your reaction when I took the photo, Mr. Harry Osborn."

"Is that so? I don't quite remember. So much time has passed, and too many things have happened in between."
