Chapter 21 - ‘Healing’ Noësis… Or… What it is now

Standard medical procedure within EINA is unequivocal when a student suffers an abrupt and catastrophic loss of a major organ. Faculty are to summon their Nature-Archetyped Concordees at once, stabilizing the area with a controlled lattice of Noësis and Thaumitonic Zones before initiating Microcellular Angiogenesis upon the injured student to regrow the foundational vessels before the body collapses beyond retrieval.

In Isaac's case, after the Microcellular Angiogenesis halts the hemorrhaging, the trained Concordees immediately escalate to the deeper regenerative protocols reserved for total sensory-organ loss. They initiated Axonal Reclamatio, forcing the fraying optic nerves to hold their structure before Wallerian degeneration can set in.

Doctor Azucena Esquivel then began guiding the Concordees to impose a Retinal Re-Imprinting, projecting a bio-Noësical template into the empty orbits and restoring the retina's layered blueprint and ensuring the future organ grows with correct photonic-transduction geometry.

Once this architecture is secured, the last step is for full organogenesis as Thaumitonic scaffolds spin out the cornea, lens, vitreous body, iris, and choroidal layers in rapid succession, knitting each to the salvaged nerve roots.

When the biological form is complete, the faculty begins the realignment sequence that transforms the new organ from tissue into a functional sensory system. Controlled Thaumitonic pulses ignite the Photonic Reflex Initialization, testing pupillary contraction and establishing conduction through the optic pathways.

Finally, a Cognitive-Visual Harmonization Link rebinds the resurrected ocular signals to Isaac's consciousness-thread, preventing dissociation and ensuring that his sight returns not as fragmented input, but as a regular sensory experience.

Only after this last link settles does Doctor Azucena Esquivel and her faculty step back, dissipating the Concordees that trained for this exact situation.

All of them echoed the same thought.

Thank… God…

As the operation was successful.

Isaac's vision was restored.

Nevertheless, the sheer shock and neurological pain Isaac endured sent him unconscious almost instantly after his first, ragged scream.

It was evident that the only thing this First Year Student needed right now was rest.

The medical faculty of the infirmary breathed out and laid Isaac down on a vacant nursing bed before dissipating.

The Doctor, in particular, halted Professor Aldrick and dragged him into the hallway.

"I'm sorry for saying it like this, honey. But… What the fuck happened to that boy!!!"

"Babe… Listen… I don't know as we一"

"How long did it take for you to realize that there was HIS blood on your arm and bring him to me?!"

"I-I don't know as well… Maybe… 1 minute and 37 seconds?"

"THEN YOU DO KNOW THAT IF YOU WERE 23 SECONDS LATE, THAT BOY WOULD HAVE A NEAR ZERO CHANCE OF RECOVERING HIS EYESIGHT?! DO YOU?! HE COULD HAVE DIED—"

"LISTEN! BABE! I ran as fast as possible after realizing, okay? Please… Relax… Isaac is fine now. Correct? That's all that matters. We've seen this multiple times, and we've saved them all. What is one more?"

Doctor Azucena Esquivel exhaled loudly as the couple found a quiet corner of the Institute.

"Yes… But… My goodness… Please… Be faster, dear. I cannot afford to have another her."

"I know… I really did run with Isaac. The campus is big. Don't you see how sweaty I am?"

"Right… Thank you, babe. Now please. Give me every detail. Because you calling it 'one more' is absolute bullshit, dear. You know how well I know the anatomy of the body. And I have NEVER seen a worse case of evulsion一 No… I would need to create a new medical diagnosis for the sheer gore of 'Isaac's' eyes." Doctor Harrington explained hesitantly, seeing as she herself was about to turn pale at the thought of what could only be described as viscera in Isaac's eyesocket.

"If I were to, it would be considered the most severe bilateral globe rupture, evulsion or implosion, whatever the hell that was. As if a high-power explosive was placed near his optic nerve."

"Dear… All I knew was that Isaac Mun began screaming during the welcoming dinner. If you'd like a time, then I think about 19:32. I, of course, summoned 'Alex' and 'Alicia' to attempt soothing his pain. Give or take 2-3 minutes, he said he was fine but wanted to rest at the infirmary. On the way, he always had a face of shock or surprise after forcing one last glance at the dining hall. Then, mid-escort, I really don't know what time his eyes ruptured. I only realized when I felt something gooey and warm on my arm, and I began running."

"Hm… Alright… It's not a lot… But thank you, honey." Doctor Harrington tiptoed to give Professor Aldrick a peck on the cheek. "You did your best, I hope, and I commend you for taking my advice on how to deal with students who suddenly act that way."

Professor Aldrick smiled.

"It's my duty, babe. Come. Let's go check on the boy."

The married couple made their way back to the infirmary to meet an unexpected sight.

The boy who suffered a near-fatal injury was already awake, gasping for air.

And interestingly.

Professor Aldrick, out of curiosity, asked the frantic patient a question.

For he had noted.

Isaac's epigenetic upgrade.

"Mr. Isaac, were your eyes always green?"

Huh?
