The silence that followed the snap was heavy, suffocating, and wet.
Echidna's head rolled on the ground, blood splatting everywhere.
It tumbled across the cracked pavement, the expression on her face frozen in a mask of confusion and undying adoration.
Her body, severed clean at the neck, slumped forward a second later, spraying a fountain of dark blood onto the debris-littered ground.
Kelvin was the first to break the silence.
"What the hell!?" he screamed, taking a stumbling step back, his hands flying to the swords strapped to the side of his waist. "You just… you just killed her! She was on our side! She just said she loved him!"
Ash also had a look of suspicion on his face; whatever it may be, he wanted to know Rapheal's reason for suddenly killing like that.
He stood perfectly still, his gaze shifting from the headless corpse of the woman who had just pledged her eternal loyalty to him to the woman standing beside him with a smoking hand.
Raphael looked bored.
