Chapter 49 - Chapter 49

"Please—"

Akuto smiled as he poured tea for Serafall.

She gave him a sidelong glance and downed the hot tea in one gulp.

"Well? What do you want to tell me?" Serafall asked with no small amount of irritation.

Her bad attitude was hardly surprising—after all, Akuto had just beaten up her beloved little sister. If not for him insisting it was something closely related to Sona, she would never have come to his house.

"Serafall-sama, I assume you already know about Sona."

"Yes, but what are you trying to say?"

"Actually, regarding this Rating Game, many newspapers in the Underworld have invited me for interviews."

"What! They invited you?!"

Serafall shot to her feet.

It made sense—Sona breaking off her engagement with Akuto was huge news, of course the media would swarm.

"These newspapers want me to do an exclusive interview about the annulment. The pay is quite generous.

You know, Serafall-sama, I only just received recognition as a pure-blood Devil. I lack cultivation resources. Their offer is very tempting."

"…Are you threatening me?" Serafall narrowed her eyes, her face darkening.

"No, how could it be a threat? I simply want to strike a deal with the Demon King." Akuto chuckled and shook his head.

"Using one's resources to exchange for what one needs—that's the basis of society.

So, if Serafall-sama can meet my other requests, of course I can say Sona defeated me and annulled the engagement."

"All right. Name your price." Serafall finally admitted he had leverage.

"Very simple. Put on a few magical-girl outfits and take some cosplay photos with me."

"…Huh?!"

Looking at the neatly arranged costumes that appeared, Serafall's expression cycled from shock, to confusion, to guardedness.

"You just said… take cosplay photos with you? Meaning… you'll cosplay too?" she asked the most crucial question.

"Of course. I love cosplay."

With a wave of his hand, Akuto revealed sets of men's outfits—demon king robes, Taoist garb, mecha armor—everything imaginable.

"…Fine! I agree!"

The moment she saw Akuto's costumes, Serafall agreed without hesitation.

"Shuu-chan! Sorry, I misunderstood you earlier! I never thought you loved cosplay as much as I do—this is wonderful!"

Seizing him in delight, Serafall buried his face into her chest and shook him excitedly.

Normally, she would never do something so outrageous. But the joy of finding a kindred spirit, coupled with her succubus bloodline, made her want to pounce on him.

After smothering him for a good thirty seconds, she belatedly pulled away, embarrassed.

"All right—let's get started."

Akuto shook his head, dazed—Serafall's "face wash" nearly scrambled his brain. Still, he had to admit: the Demon King's face wash had a very unique flavor.

Half an hour later, in Akuto's home.

He and Serafall, dressed in cosplay, shifted through poses in front of the camera.

Behind the lens, silver-haired Saint Olivia snapped photos with growing disbelief.

What was she seeing?

The reigning Demon King Leviathan and a former Leviathan, cosplaying together—and enjoying it?!

Perhaps since the gods had perished, the world had indeed gone insane.

Olivia suddenly regretted learning every life skill during her training with Latia. If she knew everything, wouldn't Akuto just dump all the work on her?

Still, as his contracted peerage member, her prayers never brought headaches—proof the Godless system still recognized Akuto as a divinely approved master. That recognition was why she had become a Saint.

So… she could only accept his hobbies too.

"Next set—this one! And then this!"

Blue, yellow, pink, black, white.

Serafall cycled through magical-girl outfits nonstop. She even bossed Akuto into matching her.

"Shuu-chan, you dummy! Black goes with black! I'm wearing the dark-magical-girl set—hurry and switch into the demon king costume!"

She played with relish, showering Akuto with little benefits—hand-holding, thigh touches, interlocked fingers. At the closest, she even let him rest on her soft, pale thighs.

Yet oddly, after the lap pillow, she refused further intimacy.

When she finally changed outfits, Akuto realized why:

Her white panties bore a faint wet mark.

Mortified at reacting to a boy who had just broken off an engagement with her sister, Serafall had instinctively withdrawn.

What she didn't know—Akuto had already snuck the damp costume into his personal subspace.

[Ding!]

[Quest Complete]

[Requirement: Obtain a worn cosplay outfit of Serafall.]

[Rank: Gold]

[Reward: Divine Avatar—Vamana]

Divine Avatar: Vamana (The Dwarf Incarnation of Vishnu)

Origin Myth: In Hindu legend, the greatest Asura king, Bali, conquered all three realms and expelled the gods. The gods prayed to Vishnu, who incarnated as a dwarf. At Bali's horse-sacrifice festival, the dwarf begged for "three paces of land." Thinking it trivial, Bali agreed. Vishnu resumed his true form and crossed Heaven and Earth in two steps, leaving only the Underworld—symbolizing the Sun's daily course.

Effect 1: Can disguise oneself as another being, nearly impossible to detect.

Effect 2: Can freely alter body size. Smaller reduces consumption, larger increases drain, with battle power shifting accordingly.

Effect 3: Power of Promise—any vow accepted under this avatar must be fulfilled.

Effect 4: Can transcend all spatial limits, unleashing the avatar's full might, even crossing worlds and time itself.

Akuto whistled softly after reading through.

"As expected of a quest linked to the Demon King—it's as powerful as my Boosted Gear."

Gold-tier, nearly on par with the Red Dragon Emperor's Gauntlet.

Beyond raw strength, the avatar's abilities were perfectly suited to him—especially the power to cross barriers and worlds at will. For someone under threat from the Old Satans, it was invaluable.

Satisfied, he returned to enjoying the cosplay session.

Unlike Serafall, who loved cosplay as an art, Akuto loved it because it enhanced charm, deepened intimacy, and added spice to his adventures.

Still—he genuinely enjoyed it. And perhaps sensing his honesty, Serafall had happily indulged.

Three hours later.

Both were sweaty but satisfied. They had cycled through all the poses, and while Serafall's intimacy level hadn't returned to lap-pillow status, it did at least climb back to finger-locking.

"Shuu-chan, remember to send me the negatives later. I'll add them to my Magical Girl Milky setting book—and blast them across magazines!"

She would declare to the world: she had found a fellow cosplayer! Those Devils who looked down on cosplay simply lacked vision!

"Don't worry. My equipment copies fast. You'll have your set before you leave."

Akuto hid a smirk—he'd planned to "leak" a portion of the photos anyway. Serafall had just volunteered.

At last, parting time came.

Though reluctant, Serafall still had her duties as a Maou. She had already spent hours here—if she didn't return, even working late wouldn't save her schedule.

Noticing her hesitation, Akuto offered a gift.

"What? Shuu-chan, you'll come to the Underworld every day to play?"

"But… whether by spell or train, it takes an hour each way! Two hours round trip—plus cosplay prep—you'd never have time for anything else!"

Seeing her doubts, Akuto tapped her forehead.

"I'm only visiting. Who said we'd play this long every day?

I awakened a power that lets me cross worlds. It won't take an hour—just seconds to reach the Underworld."

Taking her small hand, he said:

"Don't resist. Let me move you with me."

Woosh!

The next second, they appeared inside Leviathan's domain.

"Waaah! Shuu-chan, you're amazing! Now we can play together all the time!"

Overjoyed, Serafall smothered his face once more—leaving him drenched in sweet, creamy "face wash."
