Chapter 5 - Chapter 5 Please don't tell anyone I did this

"Hey! Peter!"

Xu Wang raised his hand, greeting Peter Parker at the Pizza store entrance.

Hearing someone call him, Peter looked left and right before spotting Xu Wang.

Only an afternoon had passed since they parted, and Peter's impression of Xu Wang was still very strong.

"Mr. Xu Wang."

Peter stared blankly at Xu Wang.

After all, they were just strangers who had met once.

He was still a bit unaccustomed to Xu Wang's familiar greeting.

Peter, without his Spider-Man suit, was actually relatively shy and not much of a chatterbox.

"Are you working here? I'm here for dinner, just got off work, and made a big score!"

Xu Wang parked his harley motorcycle, directly carrying a black trash bag, and walked over to Peter.

"Ah? Oh! Yes! I'm working part-time here!"

Reminded by Xu Wang, Peter instantly snapped awake and quickly said with some apology, "Sorry, Mr. Xu Wang, I need to deliver pizzas first. Can we talk later?"

"Okay! Be safe on the road!"

Xu Wang waved kindly, watching Peter put boxes of pizza into the insulated bag and then ride away on his bicycle.

Watching Peter's back disappear around a corner ahead, Xu Wang sighed helplessly again: "What should I do? I really want to be killed by him… but that's really difficult."

Little Spider, as the conscience of Marvel, it's truly difficult to die by his hand.

After all, this is The Amazing Spider-Man, and the plot and character designs are relatively traditional.

He probably needs to go to other runaway timelines and face a completely blackened Spider-Man to have a chance to die by his hand.

Fortunately, Xu Wang is relatively easygoing.

There's not just this one opportunity; if it really doesn't work out, it's fine. He'll just try harder next time.

Reject internal friction! Start with me!

Xu Wang grinned.

He looked at the black plastic bag in his hand again, remembered something, and mused: "Perhaps, letting Peter be Attached Body by Venom would be a good opportunity…"

Not far away, Peter, who was riding his bicycle, suddenly shivered.

He always felt a chill down his spine.

That feeling of being targeted lingered.

He didn't know why, but a figure in a secondhand suit awkwardly dancing in the street suddenly appeared in his mind.

Shaking his head sharply, Peter sped up his cycling.

He wanted to shake off this ominous feeling.

On the other side, Xu Wang had already entered the Pizza store with the plastic bag.

First, very professionally, he collected all the unwanted plastic bottles from the tables in the store.

Then, under the strange gazes of the staff, he went to the counter and ordered a five U.S. dollar pizza.

"Just a moment…"

The staff took the money and went to bake the pizza for Xu Wang.

They also sold slices of pizza for one U.S. dollar here.

It was a true poor person's meal, just a pizza base with only cheese and no other toppings.

While waiting for his pizza, Xu Wang also asked the staff if this Pizza store was open 24 hours.

If it was, he planned to spend the night there.

Some 24-hour restaurants are one of the choices for many homeless people to spend the night.

Besides that, there are also bank ATM rooms, certain medical facilities, subway stations, docks, parks, or public Shelters.

These are all places where homeless people can stay.

However, for long-term homelessness, most still need their own tent and then choose a spot to "settle down."

The places mentioned above are mostly only for short-term overnight stays.

They are not suitable for long-term living.

The final result was regrettable; although this Pizza store was open 24 hours.

They did not accommodate homeless people.

Xu Wang could only look for other places to spend the night.

Peter delivered pizzas quite quickly.

Or rather, the destination for this delivery was not far away.

When Xu Wang finished his meal and was about to leave, he happened to see Peter riding back.

"Hi! Peter!"

At the Pizza store entrance, Xu Wang greeted Peter again.

Seeing a nearly empty bottle of purified Water in his hand, he asked, "Do you still want this Water?"

"Huh?"

Peter was startled.

But he instinctively handed the bottle to Xu Wang.

Xu Wang thanked him, took the bottle, twisted open the cap, poured out the Water inside, then forcefully squeezed the plastic bottle flat, forcing out the air, and finally twisted the cap back on.

His actions were smooth and professional.

"What are you doing?"

Watching Xu Wang skillfully throw the plastic bottle into the black trash bag, Peter Parker asked curiously.

"Picking up trash, I'm a scavenger, can't you tell?"

Xu Wang sighed and shook his head: "I didn't want to do this either. But I have a gambling father, a mother paralyzed in bed who needs long-term medication, and I also need to support my younger brother through college, so I have to earn more money."

Upon hearing Xu Wang's background, Peter Parker's eyes immediately filled with sympathy: "I'm sorry, I didn't know…"

"It's okay, I just hope you don't tell anyone I'm doing this."

Xu Wang waved his hand.

Peter eagerly agreed.

But he always felt that this conversation was a bit strange.

Although scavenging is indeed not a glamorous job, coming from Xu Wang's mouth, it always felt like he was talking about other skilled trades.

"Alright, I won't chat with you anymore, I still need to find a place to stay tonight."

After Xu Wang finished speaking, he intended to leave directly.

Peter quickly stopped him: "I might be able to find you a job, I have a friend whose family is very rich."

The friend he referred to was naturally Harry Osborn.

However, Xu Wang still refused.

He looked at Peter seriously and said, "Scavenging is actually a very promising profession, I don't need other jobs."

Upon hearing this, Peter didn't say anything more.

He thought Xu Wang was a very proud person and didn't want to accept help from others.

In reality, Xu Wang was just spouting nonsense.

He said whatever came to his mind.

"Wait a moment, I'm also off work, and I know where you can stay overnight."

Peter remembered that Xu Wang was still looking for a place to stay overnight, so he quickly ran into the store, put down his work clothes, and then came out to meet Xu Wang.

However, when he got on Xu Wang's harley motorcycle, Peter's expression was still a bit strange.

He thought that this harley motorcycle must have been bought before Xu Wang's family fell on hard times.

This kind of thing is very common; many newly homeless people also have cars.

After Xu Wang started the harley motorcycle, he proudly boasted, "This harley motorcycle is good, isn't it? I picked it up. I told you scavenging is a good job."

Peter's expression immediately stiffened; this newly acquainted friend always surprised him.

How the hell can a harley motorcycle be picked up!

Peter had lived for more than ten years and had never heard of such a thing!

At this moment, he didn't know what to say, so he could only force a smile.

With Peter's directions, Xu Wang quickly found a relatively good Love Home nearby.

Peter had volunteered there before, so he was familiar with it.

This was a large, single-story building similar to a warehouse.

Rows of single beds were arranged inside.

Because Xu Wang and Peter arrived relatively late, there were no beds left for Xu Wang.

But that didn't matter, because people could also sleep on the floor nearby.

Many people were already sleeping there.

At least it was inside a building, providing Shelter from the wind and rain.

It was much better than sleeping outdoors in the open.

"Sorry, I could only find a place like this…"

Peter Parker knew the conditions here weren't great, so he felt a bit ashamed.

After all, he was just a poor student; the most he could do to help Xu Wang was this.

"I'm quite satisfied, thanks. I'll treat you to a meal next time."

Xu Wang patted Peter, this young man's shoulder, sighing that he was indeed the conscience of Marvel.

Afterward, Peter Parker rode his skateboard home.

Xu Wang found a corner against the wall and sat down.

After traveling through time to the present, he could finally rest.

He was actually quite tired.

Using his backpack as a cushion, Xu Wang leaned against the wall, raised his left wrist, and opened his personal terminal for a detailed look.

This personal terminal from Vault-Tec seemed to have undergone some changes after accompanying his Crossing.

Originally, it monitored vital signs like body fat and blood pressure.

Now, it had become data attributes similar to a game.

After the previous Death rewards.

Xu Wang's current physical attributes had also changed.

The [Personal Attributes] panel displayed it as follows…
