He answered Kronos in the most direct, most piercing way—his voice high and cutting straight through:
"Behold—what delightful words! I've never heard the like!"
"Your Majesty the God-King, how long has it been since you last spoke so many gentle, pleasant, intimate, and mild words?"
"For countless ages, your mouth held only commands and threats. Oh—and destruction. Today's sweet speeches are truly rare!"
"God-King, when you exploited Mother to conceive laws and then turned around and swallowed those laws one by one, why did you not think then of 'sharing honor' with Mother?"
"When you mercilessly wounded the holy, loving heart of Mother, when you deemed the gods you begot yourself a threat and devoured them—why did you not think of these tender sentiments you utter today?"
"The fire in your heart is clearly ready to turn all heaven and earth to ash, and yet you can still smile and speak such pleasing words."
"You ought not be the God-King of creation, but the God-King of guile; you ought not be the master of the cosmos, but the master of hypocrisy and lies!"
"Ah, right—you have lost fire forever."
"Is it because you lost fire that your anger has been lost as well?"
His tone sharpened, with exaggerated puzzlement: "But why have your hypocrisy and cruelty not been lost along with it? Why have they only grown worse?"
"One last question. Do you know how nauseating your hypocritical face is—coming from a God-King?"
"Hahaha—"
Zeus laughed up at the sky, his laughter echoing between heaven and earth, and Poseidon laughed with him.
Hades alone remained impassive, but even the other goddesses tipped up the corners of their lips, joy flashing in their eyes.
The God-King's shameless words truly sickened their noble, pure hearts.
Mother Rhea, delighted, nodded emphatically, her eyes holding unhidden approval and praise.
Watching the God-King—driven past his limits by Zeus's barrage—his face twisted, his composure near collapse,
Rhea felt unspeakable relief; the resentment and grievance pent up for eons melted away by half with Zeus's words.
Her relaxed joy stood in sharp contrast to the God-King's contorted, furious visage.
Just as Kronos was about to snap completely, Zeus abruptly gathered in his scornful laughter, replacing it with a stern, icy denunciation: "Enough!"
"Your Majesty the God-King! If you still possess even a shred of honor and dignity, you should not utter such hypocritical, shameless words before us!"
"If you still deem yourself the God-King who governs the cosmos, then defeat us openly! Use your strength and beat us fair and square!"
"If you win, you may swallow us once more. Then you will still be the forever-invincible supreme God-King! But until then—what is left for you to say?"
Zeus's voice grew louder, full of taunt, scorn, and resolve: "Hypocritical God-King—why keep suppressing the fury that's about to burst forth?"
"It's about to ignite—burning away all your pretense!"
"Wretch!"
A terrifying roar finally erupted from deep in Kronos's throat, a sound bearing world-ending power that made all creation shudder and space itself seem ready to tear!
That last sentence from Zeus ignited the powder magazine in an instant, leaving the God-King no way to restrain his boundless rage on the brink of eruption.
No longer able to endure, the God-King stopped suppressing his power and flung wide the once all-conquering Titan body.
In an instant, his infinitely towering, martial divine form manifested, so vast that a star in his palm was no more than a grain of dust.
And the force contained within that body was even more fearsome—beyond measure. Even the already boundlessly towering Mount Olympus trembled merely from the aura shed by the Titan frame of the God-King.
The God-King fully revealing his might easily overawed all!
Lesser demigods or minor gods would be reduced to dust in an instant beneath this dreadful presence.
And this—this was the God-King after being cut down by six "strokes!"
At his peak, having claimed the power of all living beings in the universe for uncounted ages, the God-King could simply do as he pleased!
Now the God-King displayed his endless sovereign might.
As the God-King of creation, by his supreme law of creation as guide and his supreme royal authority as command, with a single gesture he stirred the infinite aether of the cosmos.
With his every movement, the vast aether boiled like an ocean, raising an aether tide that swept the entire universe—its surging seeming bent on swallowing all existence.
All elements in the universe moved at his will; in a mere instant, one-off elemental spirits, comparable to true gods—more precisely, elemental deities—were born at the turn of the God-King's thought.
A terrifying multitude—beyond counting—blotted out the sky.
Innumerable elemental deities, like true gods, roared and charged at Zeus's side.
They were highly condensed incarnations of different elements, endowed with sundry divine arts and traits, and so numerous they darkened the heavens, casting all of Mount Olympus beneath their shadow.
Heedless of themselves, and with the resolve to annihilate all, they rushed forward in suicidal assault like a tidal wave of ants.
In that moment, war began in the most violent way.
A vast divine battle, destined for the annals of myth, formally opened then and there.
This campaign would decide the fate and future of the universe, and was fated to be remembered forever.
Yet just as those elemental deities were about to touch Zeus's side—
Hestia, gentle as ever, let out a cold laugh. On her delicate, lovely face a rising fire now burned.
The authority of fire was no longer in Kronos's hands; at this moment, the embodiment of fire stood at Zeus's side!
Within her dwelled flames sufficient to burn all things.
Hestia's lithe form shifted; she was about to surge forward and purge these elemental deities with fire.
But Mother Rhea merely lifted her slender, beautiful divine hand in a light wave.
In an instant, the countless elemental deities that darkened the sky were wiped away as if by an invisible force—vanished without a trace.
Only the vast tide of aether was left to churn violently and aimlessly through the universe, at a loss.
Such gods, formed of condensed elements alone, were nothing before the Queen who governed the laws of cosmic motion and circulation—beings she could destroy with a wave of her hand.
