Chapter 62 - Chapter 62: Laws (Part II)

However, if the master and subordinate cooperated together, their powers would perfectly harmonize, and their might would increase geometrically, achieving remarkable results with half the effort.

Therefore, those deities who had hierarchical and subordinate relationships in terms of laws would naturally form master-subordinate divine relationships.

This was a natural alliance based on cosmic law order—cooperation benefited both, while separation harmed both.

But this subordinate relationship did not involve absolute control of higher levels over lower levels!

No matter how great the influence from above to below, no matter how tightly authority covered downward, it was all indirect control!

This was similar to the relationship between a king and territorial lords. The king could certainly directly command knights under the lords to do things, but the effectiveness depended on the lords' attitudes as well as the king's own abilities and majesty.

Moreover, not all law births necessarily resulted in subordinate relationships.

Some laws, though related to the more fundamental laws that gave birth to them, if this correlation was weak, or if they were essentially mutually generating and restraining, mutually opposing relationships—

Then even the "parent generation" laws could not form effective control over them.

This was no longer a branch on a big tree, but the tree's seed breaking free from itself to grow and develop freely, so the tree naturally had no control.

For example: light and darkness.

Even when light was still a child of darkness and night, darkness and night could not control light. If the two fought, it was purely a comparison of each other's divine nature and divine power, but no control relationship existed.

However, light and day later became grafted. Light's origin was changed by Uranus to celestial radiance, and light and day instead came under the control of the Father of Celestial Bodies.

Poor Aether and Hemera, they were arbitrarily reduced by a generation.

They were originally Creation Origin Level gods, but now became subordinate celestial gods.

Many laws with evolution and correlation didn't necessarily have such tight subordinate relationships, and the creators didn't necessarily have definite control.

Like Mother Goddess Gaia and her children.

Mother Goddess Gaia was powerful not because she was earth, but because she was the Mother of All Things, the foundation and source of all material existence.

All things with form and substance in the universe, all material existence was under her control, and all existence affected by matter was influenced by her.

As a primordial great god, the foundation of all material existence, her divine nature and divine power were incomparably formidable.

But she also had limitations—she was ultimately not omnipotent.

For example, she could not control many Primordial Titans.

Because many Primordial Titans were abstract concepts created by Uranus combining spirituality with material dark matter and dark energy, not purely material compositions. Their essential existence had transcended the purely material category.

In principle, she could only control material existence.

After the many Primordial Titans each controlled the universe's laws, the Mother of Matter's authority was naturally compressed.

Though she was the foundation of the material world, she could hardly touch those non-material law domains.

She could not control any law gods of non-purely material concepts.

However, Mother Goddess Gaia was ultimately the foundation of all existence—all life existed because of her.

Therefore, she naturally controlled many laws related to life, evolution, development, survival, and so forth.

This portion of authority could be called the Earth Mother Goddess. But her core essence remained the Mother of All Things.

This portion of her authority was also relatively easy to be divided away. Once divided away, she could only control indirectly, or even completely lose control.

Because as the universe evolved, many laws themselves were no longer simple, but abstract concepts born from the interaction of various laws, and the Mother of All Things also had her huge limitations.

Not only the Mother of All Things—all gods were like this. Laws they gave birth to weren't necessarily manageable, and might even restrain themselves.

Gaia had no way to deal with Kronos, and Kronos could even try to restrain her in return.

Like Poseidon—his most powerful authority was not sea and ocean, but earth-shaking.

The essence of earth-shaking was vibration. This vibration was energy transmission, the beginning of structural disintegration, and the most fundamental and primitive impact on matter.

The power of vibration could shake the foundation of existence from matter's deepest level.

This was also why Gaia could no longer tolerate Kronos. Kronos was undermining Mother Goddess's roots—no matter how tolerant Gaia was, she had to turn hostile.

Also, if laws were merely granted to others for use, that was a small problem. Law gods with independent divine nature existence could limit or revoke authorization at any time.

But if divided away, it would be difficult to get them back.

This could be understood as the former being lending one's own house to others for use—naturally everything was still up to the homeowner.

The latter was transferring the house deed—then the former owner was nothing anymore.

Therefore, in principle, as long as they were law gods who could greatly affect cosmic existence, were not greatly governed by other laws, possessed high autonomy, and had divine nature and divine power so strong they were difficult to manipulate, they could all be called main gods.

The reason God Kings were invincible was because they were strong enough to break existence itself, making world laws unable to affect them.

And they could also break through void, drawing power from nothingness. So as long as God Kings had good direct attack methods and good physiques, they were invincible!

It just sounded simple, but actually doing it was extremely difficult. Not just any god could casually ravage Tartarus.

Many gods could slowly transform and draw power from nothingness by relying on the great world.

But those independent of nothingness who could beat Tartarus into a power bank—now there were truly only Kronos and Zeus.

Like now, Zeus had actually completely regained his rationality.

The battlefield where the two God Kings fought with real fire had dimensional collapse and law annihilation. The God Kings' battlefield had long been torn into a seething chaotic void by the two God Kings' violent power.

Under such absolute power collision, they had long broken free from world connections. Even the vast law might of Primordial Titans could not touch or affect them at all.

After the influence of Coeus and Phoebe was severed, Zeus's briefly clouded intellect had completely regained rationality and clarity in just a few breaths.

Coeus and Phoebe themselves could not seriously affect him either. They had only cleverly stirred the magnificent fighting spirit that originally existed in Zeus's heart, letting war's frenzy temporarily slightly override reason.

However, in God King level confrontations, this delay of merely a few breaths was already crucial.

It was too late for Zeus to recover now.

Now it wasn't him entangling Kronos, but Kronos tightly entangling him.

He felt slightly annoyed in his heart. He knew clearly that Coeus and Phoebe were truly going to take action against the gods.
