Chapter 75 - Chapter 75: Great Father God, Great Mother God

It was precisely because Zeus was there, always protecting them behind him, that the gods could always move forward with peace of mind.

Zeus—he was the undisputed core!

He was the hope and pillar of all Olympian deities!

With him there, the gods could always feel secure!

In this world, nothing could earn the gods' respect and love more than commanding everything, resisting everything, and conquering everything on the battlefield.

No female deity could resist such a lord of ten thousand armies who combined strength, courage, power, wisdom, and personal charisma!

Hestia was the fire-seed mother goddess symbolizing civilization's robust growth; Demeter was the growth mother goddess indispensable to life; and white-armed Hera was the great mother goddess representing the feminine aspect of reproduction, fertility and birth.

They all represented life's vitality, growth, and production, representing the most fundamental maternal power in the world—they were all absolute great mother goddesses.

As determined by the essential laws that gave birth to their divine nature, their instincts could not refuse Zeus. They were innately captured and deeply attracted by Zeus's masculine and powerful essence.

Because Zeus's essence was precisely the fundamental existence they needed and yearned for.

Just as all life revered thunder's might, and all life thirsted for light and rain's nourishment.

This was the yearning and attraction from divine instinct that they could not resist.

Great mother goddesses were naturally born to desire nestling beside the great father god—this was the calling of laws, the belonging of origins.

This was not simple divine body instinctual attraction, but essential attraction transcending everything, desired by divine nature born from the depths of laws.

It was the world's origin seeking harmony and completeness.

Just like yin and yang forever embracing each other, mutually attracting and fusing.

This was the eternal attraction of supreme essential laws, the deepest and most fundamental order and balance in the universe.

Hestia, Demeter, Hera, Hades, Poseidon, Zeus—they were law incarnations, not lives born from blood connections as mortals understood, much less having worldly blood relations.

They were new laws evolved and created over endless ages by God King Kronos and God Queen Rhea, these embodiments of the universe's essential origin laws.

Initially, the universe had no true living beings.

Whoever could evolve, derive, and create new laws and concepts would naturally become the "parents" of these new laws.

In reality, there were no substantial blood relationships between deities as mortals had, and "parents" didn't even need to exist simultaneously—powerful great gods could completely gestate and create alone.

Like Mother of All Things Gaia, who was herself the embodiment of the universe's material origin.

Therefore, when the universe was born, all matter that appeared—whether the vast boundless firmament, deep and vast seas, majestic towering mountains, or minute matter composing all things—were naturally her children.

Or like the Night Goddess, all laws and concepts born from her profound night authority—misfortune, nightmares, death, sleep, pain, sorrow, aging, deception, schemes, etc.—were likewise children gestated and created by Lady Night.

These were all magnificent natural evolution of laws, solemn birth of concepts, and the sources producing concepts were naturally honored as the "parents" of these concepts.

In truth, there were no blood connections in the mortal sense between deities.

The future Zeus would be not only the universe's supreme God King, but also the great father god—father of all things and spirits!

At that time, any deity, regardless of origin and authority, would have to respectfully address him as "Father" or "Father God" to demonstrate his supreme position and authority.

Even Gaia and Rhea were no exception—in serious situations, they too would have to respectfully address Zeus as "Respected Father God."

Even the unruly Poseidon, no matter how unwilling he was deep in his heart, when Zeus seriously displayed his divine kingly majesty and supreme authority, he would still have to obediently call Zeus "Father."

(PS: This is clearly recorded in bridge passages in the Iliad, where Poseidon and other gods address Zeus as "Father"; the Orphic Hymns also clearly praise Zeus as the supreme great father god!)

This title of "Father" was a noble honorific representing status and authority, having no connection whatsoever to bloodlines—it was the ultimate manifestation of Zeus's patriarchal authority throughout the universe.

All relationships between deities ultimately returned to the level of emotion and recognition.

Sky Father Uranus casually abused the Titans because he never truly regarded them as his children.

Second-generation God King Kronos, calling them children with every word, also didn't treat the created laws as children.

To put it bluntly, they were only "parents (children)" if recognized as such—if not recognized, they were nothing.

Divine bodies could be freely changed and altered at will—discussing mundane blood connections would be too ridiculous.

Between law gods, there never existed blood relationships in the mortal sense—only the continuous evolution and embodiment of cosmic laws.

The gods never obsessed over those laws gestated from the same source as themselves, because that had no meaning.

For them, what mattered most was: through union, could they become more powerful? Could they evolve stronger laws? Could they firmly defend their honor and authority in the vast universe without being devoured and absorbed by other laws?

For the "existence" world that carried everything, the world becoming more perfect and complete was the most meaningful thing.

And for the gods themselves, the choices of self-consciousness and self-spirituality were the most important and meaningful things.

Regardless of everything else, the most instinctual love and desire in divine spirituality were the driving forces of their actions.

Love meant wanting to obtain—that was enough.

Gods were embodiments of laws, and spiritual consciousness was born from matter swallowing love and desire.

Gods were not humans—their essence was completely different.

It was humans who resembled gods, not gods who resembled humans.

Human nature was divine nature.

What mortals understood as human nature was precisely the macroscopic projection of divine nature.

Therefore, for any goddess, liking Zeus and wanting to possess Zeus carried no psychological burden whatsoever.

Because mundane rules and morals had no meaning for deities to begin with!

Their essence was completely different!

So when Zeus and Metis returned hand-in-hand to the temple in intimate closeness, many goddesses immediately changed expressions.

Spirituality was born from self-love and desire. Divine spirituality was incomparably vast and magnificent, so deities possessed both the most blazing and profound love and the most broad and surging desire.

Goddesses never wanted to share their beloved (unless they had no choice).

At this moment, with Metis gaining the advantage, many goddesses naturally felt great anger in their hearts—anxious, furious, with various complex emotions intertwining.

The angriest was the best-tempered Hera!

Because she had the best relationship with Metis, and because she loved Zeus so deeply.
