Chapter 3 - The council's decision

Ambassador Lyra returned to the Xeridian delegation's quarters, her mind racing with the implications of Emperor Arin's proposal. She gathered the council members, briefing them on the details of the alliance.

Councilor Tharen, a seasoned diplomat, spoke up first. "This alliance could strengthen our position in the galaxy, but we must be cautious. Andor's history is marked by expansion and conquest. Can we trust them?"

Lyra nodded. "I've raised concerns about the empire's intentions, but Emperor Arin assures us of his commitment. The question is, do we trust his guarantee?"

Councilor Orion, a military strategist, weighed in. "An alliance with Andor would grant us access to advanced technology and resources. We could bolster our defenses and expand our influence."

However, Councilor Kael, a veteran politician, expressed reservations. "We're risking entanglement in Andor's conflicts. What if the separatist movements spread to our territories?"

The council debated late into the night, weighing the pros and cons. Finally, they reached a decision.

"Ambassador Lyra, we'll accept Emperor Arin's proposal, but with conditions," Councilor Tharen announced. "We'll require additional safeguards and a clearer definition of our roles in the alliance."

Lyra nodded, understanding the council's concerns. "I'll convey our terms to Emperor Arin. Let's hope he's willing to negotiate."
