Chapter 42 - Chapter 42

With her eyes closed, Jahy's breathing gradually grew steady.

The Tanaka family fell into silence, and the long, busy day was finally coming to an end.

"No!"

Jahy suddenly opened her eyes and sat upright in bed.

"I still have to collect magic stones and rebuild the Demon World. How can I sleep?"

She clenched her fists, her face full of frustration.

"The human world is so dangerous. If you're not careful, you'll become addicted to it.

Jahy, Jahy, you have to stay strong. The Demon World and the Demon King still need you."

After giving herself a pep talk, Jahy got out of bed, slipping her feet into slippers and adjusting the pajamas decorated with cute cat prints.

She opened the door and looked around cautiously.

Only when she was sure no one was nearby did she step out carefully.

Tiptoeing toward Tanaka Masao's room, she made certain not to make a sound.

When she reached the door, Jahy stopped moving.

Instead, she crouched down and peered through the crack.

Seeing that the lights inside were off, she clenched her fist and cheered silently.

"Nice!"

After confirming that Tanaka Masao was asleep, Jahy tried the doorknob.

"Huh? Why won't it open?"

She gave it a push, but the door wouldn't budge.

"Damn it, it's locked. Who locks a door at home? He must be hiding something shady in there."

Still, Jahy didn't give up. She pulled out a magic stone.

"Good thing I came prepared."

The stone had regained some power, enough for her to use a small spell.

A soft glow lit up the lock.

"Magic: [Unlock]."

Though she called it magic, it was really just manipulating energy to twist the lock—like using invisible hands.

With a crisp click, Tanaka Masao's door unlocked.

Jahy slowly pushed it open and slipped inside.

As a demon, even without magical enhancement, she had excellent night vision. Her golden eyes reflected faint light in the darkness.

She crept up to Tanaka Masao's bed and looked at him.

Hearing his steady snoring, Jahy shook her head.

[He really is sleeping soundly. Convenient for me to act.]

Once again, she felt the powerful energy emanating from his chest. That was undoubtedly her goal.

She reached out and carefully pulled down the quilt.

Luckily, Tanaka Masao hadn't gripped it tightly, and she managed to slide it down to his waist.

Now revealed, the triangular crystal embedded in his chest glowed faintly.

Jahy's eyes lit up with joy.

She murmured softly:

"Little one, you're so beautiful. You must have suffered a lot staying with Masao. Come, follow me. I'll take good care of you."

This wasn't said out of some strange fetish.

To Jahy, the armor core was like a weapon spirit.

And before she could make it hers, she needed to earn its trust.

She whispered gentle words and stroked the crystal on Tanaka Masao's chest.

To her relief, there was no resistance.

"Oh, my cute little baby, hehe~"

······

Meanwhile, Tanaka Masao stirred in his sleep, feeling something on his body.

Half-awake, he caught a whisper:

"Little one, you're so beautiful. Follow me, I'll treat you well."

Tanaka Masao: ?

He forced his eyes open and glanced toward the sound.

There was Jahy, leaning over him, her small hand pressed to his chest.

Tanaka Masao: QAQ

His mind snapped awake instantly, though he was still confused.

[Am I being attacked in the middle of the night? Should I keep still and enjoy it, or counterattack?]

After a moment of hesitation, he chose to wait.

If Jahy really tried something, he'd wake up suddenly at her weakest moment.

The thought amused him, and he smirked inwardly.

But soon, he realized something was off.

Jahy wasn't after him—she was after the crystal in his chest.

While whispering sweetly, she was already trying to pry it loose.

[Damn it, she doesn't even covet my body? How insulting.]

Tanaka Masao was not pleased.

From the start, he had programmed the armor system not to harm family members and not to attack unless his life was in danger.

That was the only reason Jahy could touch it without being hurt.

But Tanaka Masao was angry now, and he needed to vent.

And the obvious target was Jahy.

Still pretending to sleep, he rolled over, turning to face her.

Jahy, busy fiddling with the core, froze at his sudden movement.

After confirming he had only turned over, she sighed in relief and went back to work.

But then, Tanaka Masao's hand suddenly reached out and landed on her back.

"Huh~"

Jahy's body trembled, and she let out a startled sound.

Quickly realizing, she clapped a hand over her mouth to keep quiet.

Glancing at him, she saw he was still "asleep," and lowered her guard, thinking it was just a random movement.

But what she didn't notice was that Tanaka Masao had stopped snoring.

As she carefully tried to move his hand away, a faint smile tugged at his lips.

His fingers began to move.

His hand, resting on Jahy's waist, shifted slightly.

And as everyone knows, the waist is a very sensitive spot.

The moment his fingers brushed against her, Jahy's reaction was immediate.
