Chapter 60 - War in Paradise

A nearby restaurant welcomed the family. They settled into a large booth, and as soon as the food was served, the compliments began.

Lord Thomas raised his wine glass, his eyes twinkling with pride, "Your wit has always been a source of pride for us, my dear," he said, his voice deep and rich. "But to see you stand your ground and perform with such courage in the face of the court... well, it was a parent's greatest dream."

Lady Elizabeth reached across the table to gently take Daphne's hand. "I was terrified for you during the combat trial," she confessed, her eyes glistening. "But you were magnificent. You fought with such grace and strength. I couldn't be more proud of the woman you've become."

"I still can't believe you've come this far in the competition," Finn said, shaking his head in awe. "You've proven everyone wrong."

Aidan raised his glass in a toast. "You've already won, Daphne. The Display of Art is just a formality."

"He is right.", Finn said.
