Alaric swung down from Shadow in a single, fluid motion.
The front doors opened just as he strode up the steps.
Aidan, still pale from his wound, stood leaning against the frame. Finn moved to his side, but not to block the way, the look on Alaric's face warned them both what would happen if they tried.
"Where is my wife?"
Finn cleared his throat, meeting the Prince Regent's burning gaze with difficulty. "It's too early. She needs time still..."
"Don't."
"Don't test me. I gave her the night. I held myself back when every bone in my body screamed to come for her. But no more."
His eyes flicked to Aidan, then back to Finn. "Now you will bring her out to me… or I will tear this manor apart myself to find her."
The silence that followed was heavy, the weight of his words sinking into the very walls.
Aidan's hand twitched. "You'll frighten her more if you storm in like this."
Alaric's chest heaved.
