Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Forks

My mother or as Bella calls her Renee, did not want us to leave. But, Bella and I both decided where we wanted to be despite our reasoning being completely different. So we said goodbye and headed into the airport. Close to 4 hrs. later we exited the airport in Port Angeles as Dad's police cruiser pulled up. I threw my stuff in the trunk and hopped in the shotgun while Bella put her small suitcase in the seat beside her as she got in the back. I said, " So Dad you've been starting my her up once a week right?". "Of course, I can't let all the money and time you put in that thing go to waste", my father stated. I gave him an appreciative light punch to the shoulder. Dad or as Bella calls him "Charlie" shifted his attention to Bella. He said, "So Bells you ready for the next semester". She awkward as ever just gave a mumble "yeah". I hopped in to fix the mood Bella ruined, "In Phoenix me and Bella were in advanced classes, so this year we get to cruise" I said with a smile. Soon the conversation began to turn lighter as me and dad jibber jabbered about the coming year and forks. Bella sat silently in the back, clearly appreciative she didn't have to talk.

Bella always says Dad is awkward just like her, but I've come to realize she is the problem in almost every social setting because she has no idea how to open up. Our Dad, Charlie, has been a police chief for years and knows how to talk and enjoy a conversation. I assume he feels like he has to walk on egg shells around little BellBell, because of the broody and closed off atmosphere she brings.

We soon arrived at Dad's house, our new home. I noticed the hunk of junk in the driveway being Billy Black's old truck. Dad began to explain to Bella he got the truck for her so she'd have a ride to school. I could tell she liked the old thing, which I previously told Dad she would. I went to check on my car, a 88' Nissan S13. She was parked in an aluminum shed in a gravel drive I paid to have poured 2 summers ago. Since then every summer I would work on the S13 more and more. The body kit on the silver car almost platinum looked amazing, she was low but not slammed. Last summer I swapped the engine for a 2JZ and got her up to 500 horse power. By no means was this the fastest car but, It was fast and for years I'd wanted to get the car to this point. The JDM style has always intrigued me. The car had reached what I could consider done.

The weekend before we started at forks slowly passed without a hitch. I spent most of my time hanging around dad and looking after my car. Bella spent most of her time with books in her room. Only leaving to make dinner and to greet Jacob and Billy Black when they came to visit. Jacob and I were good friends, during the summers that I spent in Forks he would come by and hang around while I worked on the S13. He would also bring beer he stole from Billy. I knew he had gotten caught if he didn't show up by lunch time. But, Billy was never too persistent against the thievery, probably chalking it up to boys being boys.

Alice Cullen POV

Alice was lying across a couch in the Cullen living room. Looking to be resting despite not needing rest as a Vampire. Her thoughts were drifting, she was thinking about how Jasper left 15 years ago after finding his true mate. He went back to living as a nomad for her, with her. She had thought that he was her mate. A year into their courtship she realized he wasn't and so had he. But, maybe she needed him to find her true family in the Cullen's.

Then it happened she had a vision of Edward and a girl with brown hair, then lightning devastating lightning. For some reason that lightning felt like it belonged to her. She didn't know what this meant but, maybe Edward will find his mate soon. She didn't understand the lightning part but she couldn't help being excited for Edward wishing him well. She didn't know how he'd react so she kept it to herself.
