Chapter 57 - Chapter 54 "Can I?"

The screen opens with a soft rustling of wind and the faint glow of the early morning sun cresting over the jagged peaks of Kuri's mountain range.

Mist curls along the treeline, rolling down the stone steps that lead to a small plateau overlooking the world below. If there was one word to describe it all , Beautiful.

Standing at the edge of the cliff is Tengen Uzui.

Tengen's tall frame is adorned with his flamboyant shinobi armor dark navy with gold plating across his forearms and biceps. His sleeveless attire reveals toned muscles dusted with faint battle scratches. His hair is silver-white, tied back loosely, with long bangs framing his face. A jeweled forehead protector rests across his brow, and red markings circle one of his eyes like ceremonial paint.

His expression is calm, but sharp — the eyes of someone who has killed, lived, and yet dreams of something more.

Behind him, standing with straight backs and disciplined posture, are his three wives:

Suma, nervous and loyal, twirling her fingers.

Makio, confident and fierce, arms folded, scanning the surroundings.

Hinatsuru, gentle, warm, always watching Tengen with quiet understanding.

They just returned from a mission hours ago, none of them felt tired not when the sunrise looked like this, bathing Wano in golden light. This was the beauty of wano , nowadays it was rare to come across such a sight .

Tengen inhales deeply.

"…Flamboyantly peaceful, isn't it?"

His voice is low. Calm. Honest.

Makio smiles faintly.

Suma sighs dreamily.

Hinatsuru steps forward, her voice soft and clear

"Perhaps… one day, when we retire from the shinobi life… we could leave all this behind.

Travel together. See the world beyond Wano's borders."

Suma gasps,Makio glances at Tengen, waiting.

Tengen says nothing.

He keeps staring at the sunrise as if the light itself is calling him somewhere far away.

His jaw tightens just slightly.

A dream he is almost afraid to touch.

'Can I ?'

The screen fades.

Timeskip

The Uzui clan resides deeper within the mountains stone pathways, towering gates engraved with the clan crest, and long wooden halls lined with patrolling masked shinobi.

A dim room lit by lanterns with

Tatami mats adorning the floor and long table in the centre

Three men sit in a triangular formation.

A man with spiky black hair, a cross-shaped scar along his chin, and cold predatory eyes.

He oversees recruitment and the brutal training of the next generation of Uzui shinobi.

Kids enter his division at age 5.

Some graduate.

Some break.

Some "never return."

"DANZO UZUI TRAINING DIVISION COMMANDER

'THE SHINOBI OF DARKNESE"

A thin man with slicked-back red hair and golden spectacles.

A calm smile hides a calculating mind.

He is in charge of financial channels between the Uzui clan, the Daimyo of Kuri, the Shogun, and every noble who pays for "services."

Nothing happens without him knowing.

"HOMURA THE LEDGER-KEEPER

Finance & Trade Administrator

Black hair slicked back.

A scar that runs from the center of his forehead, straight over his right eye, ending at his cheekbone.

Broad shoulders. Calm posture.

Eyes that have seen blood, war, and triumph.

Each breath of his carries the authority of a man who has led assassins, protected shoguns, and slain armies in silence.

"MUJI UZUI

HEAD OF THE UZUI CLAN

Leader of the Shogun's Oniwabanshu."

The three man sat cross-legged.

Danzo and Homura face each other.

Muji sits before them, back straight, arms folded behind him.

Muji speaks first.

His voice is low, resonant, and impossible to ignore.

"…I am growing older although im still sharp , however I'm not as ambitious and driven as i use to when im younger , a man like that should not be leading the clan."

Muji sighs .

"I want to step back as clan head, its time to let the next generation bear that weight."

Danzo raises an eyebrow.

Homura adjusts his glasses.

"I want to hand leadership of the Oniwabanshu to my eldest son."

Silence.

Danzo's mouth twitches.

Homura smiles

" Lord Muji with respect,Tengen lacks the edge required to command assassins.

He hesitates ,he cares too much , he is not fit to be a true shinobi let alone lead a clan full of shinobi . A leader must be ruthless."

Muji nods slowly.

"I know. My son is… soft."

Danzo gives a tiny nod.

"However he is also talented. No doubt among the best our clan had to offer.

That is why I will remain clan head until he is mentally ready."

Homura folds his hands, satisfied.

Homura:

"A balanced approach. Wise as always, Lord Muji."

Then Muji's voice grows colder, deeper.

"…If Tengen possessed his younger brother's mindset…

he would be the perfect shinobi.

Unmatched.

Unshakable."

Danzo's eyes narrow sharply.

A dangerous spark flickers between them.

"So it is decided.Tengen will lead the Shogun's Oniwabanshu and

In time he will inherit the clan."
