Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

A woman ran towards a room, slamming the door shut as she got in. She was trembling, crying, as if she was being hunted.

The creaking sound of the wooden floor creaked closer and closer to the door then behind the door. It stopped.

"Nar-ah Baek~, open up." A deep man's voice sounded playfully from the other side of the door.

"No! Go away! I was only doing my job!" The woman yelled, covering her mouth after as tears streamed through her cheek.

It went quiet from the other side of the door until the guy behind scoffed, "Doing your job my foot." He said coldly. His deep voice sending chills to the woman's spine.

Then, the woman's eyes widened. A sharp blade had pierced her from the back, passing through her chest. Blood splattered around as the blade was pulled back. Her eyes lost it's light.

Inside a sterile room, a man with a large scar on his mouth stood in front, his presence both intimidating and scary. "Nar-ah Baek, mayor of Seoul City, was found dead inside her house in Dongdaemun district. Four of our Sect-B agents who were tasked to guard the mayor was found brutally injured, with only one of them surviving." He paused. Staring at the people in front of him who were wearing gray uniforms with yellow ties.

Everyone went silent for a while, waiting for the man to continue talking.

He leaned forward, his voice dropping to a dangerous level. "For now, I'll be assigning first years on hunting missions as well."

A wave of murmurs and gasps erupted. A girl with powder blue hair in hime cut was the first to speak up raising her right hand. "Mr. Kang! If some of the second year agents get killed on missions, how do you expect us to hunt villains when we all lack experience?"

Mr. Kang simply scoffed, a disregarding look from his scarred mouth. "You'll be teamed up by four and, you'll have a Third year agent to guide you." he said calmly. "We'll decide on the teams after lunch, each team will atleast have a Support type gift user. Anyway that's all, dismissed!" he added.

After that, the agents fled the room, one after another, rushing towards the cafeteria. "Damn, I wanna be teamed up with Amanai." one of the boys said.

"Yeah, he has the best support type gift in Sect-A." Another guy added. But Hirua simply listened.

Everyone knows about his gift. The best support gift user of Sect-A under Dongdaemun district. He could totally do everything, from healing, buffing, anything you could wish for a support. And unlike most support who can't defend themselves, Hirua can fight and heal at the same time, only relying on himself and not on others.

Just as Hirua tried to slip away quietly, Mr Kang Min-gyu called him, his voice booming across the room. "Amanai!"

Hirua stopped, then looked at Kang Min-gyu's scarred mouth, "Yes Mr Kang?" Hirua asked politely.

"As you can see, you have the best support gift in our Sect-A so I understand if some students get upset if you won't be teamed up with them, so, I'll let you form your own team." Kang Min-gyu said, offering Hirua to form his own team.

Hirua, confused, tilted his head in confusion. "What do you mean Sir Kang?" He asked.

Kang Min-gyu face-palmed, the sound echoing in the now empty room. "Who do you want to be teamed up with? It's better for you to choose them yourself." he explained.

"Then team me up with people that can have use of my gift." Hirua said, his tone neutral as he walk slowly to the door.

"Your gift is useful to everyone, you idiot," Kim Ah-yeon, an instructor like Min-gyu, called out, her voice laced with annoyance and correction.

Hirua brushed her comment off and walked towards the cafeteria. The aroma of kimchi and grilled meats filled the air, but he barely registered it. As Hirua started to eat his food while thinking of something, Kai Kishin, a fellow 1st year, accidentally slammed his tray down in front of him.

"Ahh! Sorry! I didn't mean it, I just wanted to sit here," Kai said, his cheeks flushed with embarrassment.

"It's not like I own the table, so go ahead," Hirua said, taking a bite of the bulgogi he had just wrapped in a lettuce leaf.

Kai awkwardly sat down, picking at his food. "So, uh… you're Amanai, right? Hirua Amanai? The best support gift user?" he said.

Hirua nodded, chewing thoughtfully. He wasn't particularly fond of small talk, but Kai seemed genuinely nervous.

"Everyone's talking about you," Kai continued. "Hoping to get on your team."

"Is that why you sat here?" Hirua asked, raising an eyebrow.

Kai stammered, "N-no! Well… maybe a little. I mean, your gift is amazing. I heard you can even…" Kai paused, leaning closer, lowering his voice. "…enhance other people's gifts?"

All of them are after me and my gift, nah, even if they do get in the same team as me, I wouldn't use my gift too much. Hirua thought, ignoring Kai's question and continued eating his bulgogis.

A voice cut through Hirua and Kai's silence. "Hirua!" a masculine girl, Geun-gul called out, waving her hands as she sat on a table with three other people.

"Sorry," Hirua said to Kai after he was done eating, he took the food tray then walked away.

"Woh? Hirua!" Geun-gul called out again.

First month in Gifted Association under Dongdaemun district, Hirua felt out of place, especially since he doesn't talk much to others, only paying attention to his superiors.

"Hirua!" Someone called out, his voice causing confusion whether he's being polite or sarcastic.

"Inho sunbae, why'd you call?" Hirua responded politely, turning around to face Inho.

Inho kept giving Hirua a creepy smile before handing him a card. "Your team and guide has been chosen, meet them later in that place, 8PM. Baiy baiy!" he said as he walked away.

Year 07/21/4047, 7:30PM or Few hours later.

Hirua waited for Kang Min-gyu outside his apartment. A car stopped in front of Hirua. The window slowly opened, Min-gyu Kang was wearing fancy clothes while Hirua wore simple white long sleeve and black slacks.

"Kid, we're going to a fine dining restaurant, and you'll go wearing that? What are you a waiter?" He said, forcing Hirua to change clothe into a more formal and decent one.

Inside a big spacious restaurant, Hirua and Min-gyu came in while four people sat on the reserved chair.
