Chapter 74 - 74

What is the experience of being on the brink of death?

Angela was fortunate enough to experience it firsthand—the feeling of being about to be drowned in a bathtub by Constantine!

Normally, going to hell isn't that dangerous. All one needs to do is submerge a part of their body in water and use a medium to travel to hell.

But Angela wanted the "fast-track" version.

Since she chose the "fast-track" version, there had to be some risks involved.

So Constantine had no choice but to put her on the verge of death and use "water" as the medium to send her soul to hell.

Splash, splash...

Water splashed continuously in the bathtub as Angela waved her slender arms wildly, desperately clutching Constantine's shirt. Like a drowning person clinging to their last straw, she tried to pull herself out of the water.

The splashing water soaked Constantine's white shirt, while Angela's clothes clung tightly to her body as they became drenched, accentuating her slender and alluring figure.

It must be said that the strength people exhibit when facing death is quite terrifying.

Even though Angela was a woman who weighed less than ninety pounds, she still managed to make Constantine struggle to keep up, nearly breaking free from his grip.

Left with no choice, Constantine used his other hand to pin her firmly down in the bathtub.

And so, Constantine emotionlessly watched Angela, who was underwater, struggling in pain.

One second... ten seconds... thirty seconds...

Angela's struggles grew weaker, and her pupils began to dilate slightly.

Suddenly, Angela felt as though the world was slowing down!

Time... seemed to stretch endlessly!

She could clearly see a single drop of water hanging from the faucet above her, falling slowly.

Drip.

The water droplet hit the surface of the bath, creating ripples.

Everything around her came to a standstill, engulfed in absolute silence.

In the next second.

The world before Angela's eyes transformed into a completely different scene!

What does hell look like?

Angela had never thought about this before, but now she was seeing it with her own eyes!

The sky was shrouded in dark clouds, with dusk and decay as the eternal dominant colors of this world!

Here, there was no day or night—only an eternal twilight.

Yellow sandstorms filled the sky, and howling winds carrying mournful cries ravaged the land.

Everywhere she looked, there were only ruined walls, burning flames, and rotting bones, painting a picture of a world after its destruction!

This was hell!

Every soul that fell here would suffer eternally!

Each second in this place was a form of torment!

Constantine had once said that two minutes in hell felt like a year to him.

Whoosh...

A gust of yellow sand swept in, carrying an odor that directly assaulted Angela's nostrils.

Thanks to her experience as a police officer, Angela quickly identified the smell—it was a mix of rotting flesh and thick blood!

"Ugh!"

Angela felt her stomach churn and couldn't help but bend over and vomit.

Unfortunately, she hadn't eaten anything that night, so she only coughed up stomach acid.

After a while, Angela finally managed to suppress the acid in her stomach, wiped away the tears in her eyes,

and summoned the courage to look up and examine hell again.

Apart from the collapsed ruins and scattered bones and corpses, there seemed to be nothing else here.

So...

This was the world Isabella had seen!

Thinking of her sister, who had been enduring such suffering all along, Angela felt an overwhelming wave of guilt.

"Wait for me... Isabella."

Angela took a few deep breaths to steel herself and began to carefully explore the path ahead.

But she didn't notice the pairs of evil, greedy eyes hidden under the collapsed ruins, silently watching this outsider!

The presence of a living being in hell was something unheard of.

To these evil creatures, Angela's existence was as conspicuous as a lit lamp in the dark!

From the shadows under the ruins, grotesque monsters emerged!

They sniffed greedily at the scent of a living person, their transparent saliva dripping from their mouths, as they followed Angela like wild beasts!

As time passed, Angela felt as though she had walked a great distance.

She had moved from the narrow path to a wide road, with abandoned cars piled up on either side and a collapsed bridge in the distance.

Suddenly, she heard a familiar call from ahead.

"Angela..."

The voice made Angela freeze.

Despite the howling wind, Angela managed to barely make out the white figure calling her.

Though they were far apart, Angela immediately recognized the white-clad figure as her twin sister, Isabella!

Isabella stood at the edge of a cliff, wearing a white hospital gown, resembling the scene of her suicide.

"Isabella!"

Angela's eyes welled up with tears, her lips trembling as she rushed toward her sister, overwhelmed with sorrow.

"It's too late..."

Isabella wiped away a tear, shaking her head sadly as she looked at her sister rushing toward her. "Sister, leave here quickly. His target... is you!"

In the next moment, Isabella closed her eyes, spread her arms, and slowly fell backward.

Isabella, who had died by suicide, could only be condemned to hell in the Catholic faith, endlessly repeating the act of jumping to her death. This was hell's punishment for her!

"No! Isabella... don't!"

Watching her sister take her own life before her eyes, Angela's spirit nearly collapsed, and she burst into tears.

"Slurp... slurp..."

But soon, eerie tongue-clicking sounds and low, inhuman growls came from all directions, leaving Angela no time to dwell on her grief.

The monsters appeared!

And they came in droves, emerging from the shadows under the ruins, surrounding her in an instant.

These monsters were emaciated, with their heads cut off halfway, their brains still visible in the remaining half. They resembled the evil spirits depicted in Dante's *The Divine Comedy*!

Like Isabella, these evil spirits had committed various sins in life. After death, they were condemned to hell, tormented and brutalized until they became these horrifying creatures!

"Hiss!"

The evil spirits drooled thick, sticky saliva as they greedily stared at Angela, as if they wanted to tear her apart alive!

"Ahh!"

Angela's face turned pale with fright, and she involuntarily took two steps back, only to find herself at the edge of a cliff.

Behind her was a steep precipice, and around her were the greedy evil spirits!

"Constantine, save me!!"

Angela's face turned deathly pale as she cried out for help.

At this point, she had no choice but to place all her hope in that man, praying that Constantine would come through for her.
