Min-jae hesitated for a heartbeat, then straightened slightly in Meical's arms.
"There's something else," he said quietly. "I want to discuss the plan properly. With both of you."
Meical searched his face, then nodded once. "Then let's call her."
A servant was dispatched, and it wasn't long before soft footsteps sounded in the doorway. Serin entered with a respectful bow, her posture composed but her eyes flicking briefly between the two of them, clearly sensing the gravity in the room.
"You asked for me?" she said gently.
Min-jae stepped away from Meical, though their fingers lingered together for a moment longer than necessary before parting. He faced Serin fully, his expression calm but intent.
"I did..." he said. "I need your help."
Serin straightened at once. "With what, my lord?"
Min-jae took a breath. "I'm going to the castle."
Her eyes widened just slightly. "The royal castle?"
"Yes. I'll be going disguised as a maid" he continued.
