*Chapter 7: The Tiger's Den*
Mira's eyes scanned the room frantically as she tried to escape. But Leo was too quick, and he caught her in no time. "You shouldn't have tried that," he sneered, his eyes glinting with amusement do you want to know what happens to people who think they are smarter than me.
He led her to a large room with three majestic tigers lounging in the center. Mira's eyes widened in fear as Leo commanded, "Sit."
The tigers obeyed instantly, their eyes fixed on Mira. Leo smiled, his voice dripping with menace. "Meet Red, blue, and black. They're my loyal companions."
Mira trembled, her eyes fixed on the tigers' sharp teeth and who the fuck names their pet or should I say wild animals after colours not daring to say the last part out loud .But Leo's smile grew wider. "Don't worry, they're harmless. I had their teeth removed and replaced with plastic ones."
Mira's eyes narrowed, unsure if she should believe him. But before she could react, Leo shouted, "Attack!" Just to scare her for fun he wanted to see her beg but instead...
The tigers stood up, their jaws open wide, revealing the plastic teeth. Mira let out a terrified scream and fainted...
Leo's smile faltered for a moment before he regained his composure He strode over to Mira and scooped her up in his arms. The guards watched in shock as Leo carried Mira, her limp body cradled against his chest I mean the grim reaper himself carry someone he interrogated others bearly lasted an hour and there she was cradled up against him like he didn't point a fucking gun on her head a minute ago
As they walked, Don Matteo's voice echoed through the phone. "So, you won't listen, will you?"
Leo's response was laced with defiance. "I'm not a child, Father. I can handle this."
Don Matteo sighed. "Just be careful, Leo. I she's the key to finding Venom. And don't keep her for long, or else..."
Leo laughed. "Or else what? You'll worry I'll fall for her? Just like you did with mom .Don't be ridiculous, Father. I don't believe in love. I saw what it did to you when Mom left. You almost lost yourself."
Mrs. Jenkins, Leo's nanny, walked into the room, a warm smile on her face. "Don Matteo, I see you're talking to Leo again."
Don Matteo handed the phone to Mrs. Jenkins, his eyes clouding over. "Take care of him, will you?"
As Don Matteo left, Mrs. Jenkins turned to Leo. "You're playing with fire, Leo. That girl might just get under your skin."
Leo snorted. "I don't think so."
Don Matteo entered his room and sat down, looking concerned. "I just don't want him to repeat my mistakes have don alot of things I shouldn't have."
