*Chapter 22: The Search*
Mira and Eva huddled in front of a computer, their eyes scanning the screens as they searched for any sign of Leo's next move. Eva's fingers flew across the keyboard, her eyes darting back and forth as she hacked into various security cameras and databases.
Mira's eyes widened as she saw the extent of Eva's skills. "You're incredible," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
Eva smiled, a hint of pride in her eyes. "I've had a lot of practice," she said, her voice dry.
As they searched, Mira's mind kept wandering back to Leo. What was he planning? And how far would he go to capture her?
Suddenly, Eva's eyes locked onto the screen, her expression tense. "We've got a problem," she said, her voice low and urgent.
Mira's heart skipped a beat as she saw the footage of Leo's men swarming the streets, their faces set in determined lines.
"We need to move," Eva said, her voice firm. "Now."
Mira nodded, her mind racing with possibilities. Where could they go? And who could they trust?
As evs gathered their belongings and prepared to leave, Mira felt a sense of unease settling in. They were running out of options, and Leo's men were closing in and so was Leo.
But Eva seemed to sense her fear, and she reached out, her hand closing around Mira's wrist. "We'll get through this," she said, her voice low and reassuring. "Together."
Mira's eyes locked onto Eva's, and for a moment, she felt a spark of hope. Maybe, just maybe, they could outsmart Leo and escape... Even though she knew she couldn't...
