Chapter 103 - The discovery

Mrs. Jenkins' gaze was unnerving, and Ana felt like she was being sized up. She tried to maintain her composure, but her heart was racing.

"What do you want, Ana?" Mrs. Jenkins asked, her voice firm but controlled.

Ana hesitated, unsure of how much to reveal. "I was just looking for you," she repeated, trying to sound casual.

But Mrs. Jenkins' expression told her that she wasn't buying it. "You were snooping," she said, her voice low. "What did you see?"

Ana's instincts told her to deny it, but she knew she had been caught red-handed. "I saw the document," she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper.

Mrs. Jenkins' expression didn't change, but Ana saw a flicker of surprise in her eyes. "You shouldn't have seen that," she said, her voice cold.

Ana felt a shiver run down her spine. What had she gotten herself into? And what did Mrs. Jenkins plan to do with her now that she knew the truth?...
