Chapter 152 - Dinner

The dinner was exquisite, with each course more delicious than the last.

Lucy tried to make conversation, but Leo's responses were brief and to the point.

She couldn't help but feel a sense of frustration, wondering if she would ever be able to break through his defenses.

As the meal drew to a close, Leo leaned back in his chair, his eyes never leaving Lucy's face. "So, Lucy," he said, his voice low and husky. "Tell me, what makes you think you can just walk back into my life and expect everything to be okay?"

Lucy's heart skipped a beat as she met his gaze, her determination and resolve evident in her eyes. "I'm not expecting everything to be okay, Leo," she said, her voice soft. "But I am hoping that we can work through our issues and come out stronger on the other side."

Leo's gaze lingered on her, his eyes searching for something. And then, without warning, he pushed his chair back and stood up, his movements fluid and powerful.

"Good night," he said, his voice as cold as ice .
