Chapter 2 - 2 Betrayal in the Dark Night

Michael's jealousy finally reached its peak. Unable to contain his rage any longer, he summoned Daniel to his private chambers one night, under the pretense of wanting to talk. But it was a trap.

"I know you love Alice," Michael said coldly, his voice filled with hatred. "And you have betrayed me."

"No, Michael," Daniel replied. "I have never betrayed you. I only love Alice."

"That is the greatest betrayal of all," Michael snapped. With a signal, hidden guards emerged.

Daniel was brutally tortured until he was barely clinging to life. As he lay broken, Michael approached. "Love only makes you weak, Daniel," he whispered. "Alice may never have loved me, but she will still be mine."

As Daniel drew his final breaths, he closed his eyes and thought of Alice—her radiant smile, her warm laughter. All he wanted was to spend the rest of his life by her side. Suddenly, a blinding white light enveloped his body, and he vanished.
