The Carnaval was exactly what he needed. It was loud, chaotic, and unbelievably colorful, but in that moment, he couldn't imagine a better place to be. The noise and the chaotic energy of the revelers gave him a sense of freedom he hadn't felt in a long time. It was as though the entire bustle around him made all his worries fade away for a moment. And even though Dante was there, the evening felt in many ways like a date. Perhaps it was the sense of closeness and secrecy that made this moment so special. In the year he had been protecting Helios, he hadn't had the chance to go out with him.
Well, how could they have done it, with their relationship being kept a secret in every possible way? He longed to be able to openly show his feelings for Helios, without always having to worry about the risk of being discovered. But the thought that this freedom could someday become reality seemed like a distant dream. And that dream would likely never be fulfilled. At least not until Vale was no longer among them.
If Vale were ever gone… maybe then Helios would be ready to stop hiding.
But on this evening, Davis was just glad he could recharge. There were many small moments of closeness that meant the world to him – like the brief moments when they held hands, or the gentle touches that so often passed between them, even when they didn't directly touch. He knew he was a hopeless case, a love-struck fool who was content with these little gestures.
But for him, that was enough. And especially for tonight, it was more than enough. Helios had laughed a lot, and Davis couldn't help but feel overjoyed at the bright smile of his lover. His expression had been relaxed, full of joy. Perhaps he had never seen Helios so carefree, without the weight of responsibility that usually burdened him. In the past few days, something in Helios seemed to have changed. He looked a little tired, yes, but that fatigue was strangely mixed with a sense of satisfaction. Davis didn't know the cause of that satisfaction but he couldn't get enough of it. He wanted to hear more of that laughter, see more of the light in his eyes.
The parade was in full swing, and there were so many people around them that it probably wouldn't be noticed if he took Helios' hand. No one would pay attention to them. Not even Dante, who was watching the parade with shining eyes. And on top of that, they were all in costume, their faces hidden behind masks.
At that moment, a hand touched his, and Davis smiled immediately. He didn't hesitate for a second to take Helios' hand in his. But something felt strange. It just didn't feel right. Confused, he looked to the left, but instead of the familiar person he knew so well – the smaller man with the messy black hair, who today wore a white bird mask and a blood-red cloak – he saw only a young woman.
His brain processed slowly what he was seeing.
He was holding the hand of a young woman, who, instead of a mask, had a face beautifully made up. She wore a tight blue costume and had adorned herself with eye-catching accessories. She looked at him with flushed cheeks, her lips slightly parted as she studied him, and she threw him a seductive glance.
Davis forgot that he was still holding the young woman's hand.
She leaned in closer, pressing her boobs lightly against him, and her fingers traced gently over his bicep. Her breath was laced with alcohol, and she whispered into his ear, "If you want me, we can go somewhere else." Her words were hot and tempting, but there was a hint of boldness in them that felt almost shameless.
It was in that moment that he tore himself away from her. She looked at him in shock. Davis raised his hands in an apologetic gesture, trying to convey that it wasn't what she had thought.
"Sorry, I... I mean..." he stammered, but before he could finish, the young woman threw him one last furious look and swiftly made her way through the crowd with determined steps. Within moments, she was lost amidst the bright and chaotic swirl of the parade.
Davis placed a hand to his forehead, feeling the flush of embarrassment creep over him. This should not have happened. His reaction had been completely out of place. He looked around, searching frantically for Helios, hoping that he hadn't seen any of it. Maybe Helios would just brush it off with a smile, like he always did whenever something awkward happened, but what if he was annoyed?
Davis sighed deeply. It was probably the former, but that didn't make him feel any less guilty. Yet, there was still no sign of Helios.
He scanned the crowd once again, his eyes searching for the distinctive red cloak and the white bird mask. Nothing. No trace of him.
"Fuck!" Davis cursed under his breath, raking his fingers through his hair. He'd been so caught up in his own thoughts watching the parade, that he hadn't even realized when Helios had disappeared.
Dante stood nearby, his eyes glued to the parade, clearly lost in the excitement of the event. His face radiated the enthusiasm of someone who had been looking forward to the evening. Even before they had asked Helios if he wanted to join, Dante had been eager to get in the spirit of the celebration.
Davis reached out and grabbed Dante's arm, pulling him from his trance.
"Dante!" he called out loudly, enough for the other guard to snap to attention.
Dante turned toward him, his expression confused. "What's going on?" he asked, his voice still carrying the excitement of the evening.
"Helios," Davis said, his tone suddenly more serious. "He's gone. Did he say anything to you?"
Dante stared at him, his confusion growing as he processed what Davis had said. The spark of excitement in his eyes quickly faded as he realized the gravity of the situation. "No, he didn't say anything. Since when has he been gone?" Dante asked, immediately starting to scan the crowd. "Shit!"
"I don't know," Davis replied, his voice tight with worry. "I just noticed."
Panic rose within him. Had Helios been kidnapped? Had someone threatened him? Was he somewhere in a dark alley, badly injured? Or had he just gone to the bathroom, and they hadn't noticed when he left?
No, he would never just leave. Not without them, at least.
That meant something had happened to him, right in front of their eyes. Just because they had been watching the damn parade. Davis scanned the crowd again, hoping to spot him somewhere. He would never forgive himself if something happened to Helios.
But where should they begin the search? He had to contact the other guards; they would scour the damn event with no regard for the crowds. They needed to check every single guest. Someone must have seen something. Fortunately, Thomas had chosen a very noticeable mask for Helios, one that would stick in your memory.
The white bird mask was a masterpiece, finely crafted, and no matter how many times you looked at it, there were always new aspects to discover.
Dante looked at him seriously. "Where do we start searching? He can't have been gone for long, the parade's only been going on for ten minutes."
Damn, the area they had to cover was already enormous. Helios could be anywhere or nowhere. What if they couldn't find him? Davis gritted his teeth.
"Let's inform the other guards," Davis suggested, his voice now firmer and more determined than he felt. "The more people looking, the better. We need to contact everyone, and each one has to check everything. Someone must have seen him."
Dante looked just as worried as Davis felt. He placed his hand on Davis' shoulder.
"We'll find him. Don't worry." Dante's voice was soothing.
Davis nodded. Dante was right, it was pointless to keep overthinking. The more time he wasted worrying about not finding Helios, the more precious time he lost in actually trying to find him.
They made their way through the crowd, and although the music and laughter of the revelers filled the air around them, Davis felt only silence and the weight of responsibility pressing down on him. Helios was the one he was meant to protect, and now he was gone. Only the darkness and chaos of the parade seemed to greet him. But Davis wouldn't give up, he wouldn't let anything happen to Helios—not without doing everything in his power to find him.
___
They had informed all the guards in their vicinity. Fortunately, they had chosen a shared, distinctive feature in their clothing, so it was easy for both Davis and Dante to find them. The guards reacted as shocked as Davis and Dante had been. No one had noticed that Helios had simply disappeared, yet it had happened.
Whoever had kidnapped Helios was a master at sneaking past the guards unnoticed. Davis couldn't figure out how they had done it, especially since there were a total of 15 guards at the event. He gritted his teeth in frustration.
Why hadn't Helios made a sound? Had he been subdued right there? Why hadn't he grabbed his hand?
All of this was so nerve-wracking. He preferred it when Helios was close by, where he could always see him. Davis paused and breathed out in frustration. He was acting like Helios was his pet. It wasn't like Helios was always disappearing.
In fact, it was the first time in a long time that he was out of his reach. Still… the bad feeling remained.
Suddenly, the tension was broken by a loud, angry shout. "You damn bitch!" someone yelled, followed by a loud noise as something hit the ground.
Davis glanced toward the source of the noise, and there he saw him—Helios. He was standing face-to-face with a much larger man, who was obviously angry. Behind Helios stood a woman, holding her wrist and crying. Helios seemed to be protecting the woman, which made the situation even stranger.
Helios never usually stood up for others. He preferred to watch situations from a distance or send one of the guards to help.
This was getting stranger and stranger.
Confused, Davis stared at the scene. But then it got even weirder: Helios, who normally never sought physical confrontation, suddenly reached out and gently stroked the man's arm. Davis couldn't fully see Helios' expression behind the mask, but he seemed to be saying something—and what was even stranger, he was actually smiling a sweet smile at the brute.
Davis took a step toward the scene, but before he could get a clear view, Helios suddenly grabbed the man and wrapped his arm around his waist. The brute responded in kind, pulling Helios tightly to him.
What the hell?
It was as if the ground had been ripped out from under Davis. So, Helios hadn't been kidnapped. He had slipped away to… what? To flirt with someone? Was he no longer satisfied with what Davis gave him?
He couldn't help it. Jealousy started to rise within him.
He followed the two of them, ignoring the still-crying woman, while keeping his eyes locked on Helios. An uncomfortable feeling twisted in his stomach as he realized that he was following Helios like a stalker, not knowing what he was really expecting. But he wanted answers—answers from Helios about why he had just walked away without a word. Why he was now hanging out with this guy.
Helios pulled the man into a narrow, dark alley, far away from prying eyes, where no one could see them. And then it happened: The brute pressed Helios against the wall with violent force, his lips suddenly landing on Helios's.
That was the moment Davis lost his patience. He rushed toward the two of them. But before he could intervene, something happened that turned his entire world upside down. The brute suddenly staggered to the ground, as though he had been pulled down by invisible hands without warning. Helios stood over him and spat with a look of disgust. Then, he kicked the man aside, causing him to land on his back.
Davis froze in place. Helios bent down, wiped something with a cloth over the brute's neck, and paused for a moment with his hand there. Then he straightened up.
"What the hell was that?" Davis shouted as he finally stepped forward and stood face to face with Helios. He couldn't hide the anger in his voice.
Helios looked at him with wide eyes as he noticed him and furrowed his brow slightly in astonishment. "Davis, it's not what it looks like."
"And what is it supposed to be, then?" Davis asked sharply. "Wasn't his tongue just in your throat?"
Helios's face immediately changed. He looked disgusted and shook his head lightly. "That wasn't planned," he said, flashing something metallic in his hand. To Davis's surprise, Helios was holding a syringe.
Davis's gaze shifted from the syringe to Helios. Helios noticed his stare and secured the syringe before tucking it into the inside pocket of his coat. He had skipped his suitcase for the party.
"What was planned, then?" Davis asked suspiciously, though he still didn't fully grasp the situation. "Did you enjoy him being so rough with you? Maybe I shouldn't be so nice to you if you like things like that."
Helios raised an eyebrow and looked at him with an amused expression. "Are you jealous?"
Hell yes, he was jealous!
"Jealous? Of that ugly guy?" Davis's voice now sounded like a growl. Without realizing it, he had taken a step toward Helios and nearly pushed him against the wall. "I'm angry because you just disappeared! Do you have any idea how much you worried me? I thought I would never find you again, I was afraid you had been kidnapped or worse."
He planted his arm beside Helios's head as he imagined the image of Helios in a bloody, abandoned alley. "Damn it, Helios, I had nightmares of finding you bleeding out in a filthy alley like this. And then I see you with this guy, and…"
Helios interrupted him by placing a finger on Davis's lips, stopping him mid-sentence.
"I'm sorry for worrying you like that, Davis," he said quietly. "I started feeling sick in the crowd, and I left before I could throw up right there. By the time I turned around, you were all gone, and I had no idea where I was. There were just too many people." Helios gently ran his fingers through Davis's hair. "Then I saw this jerk trying to drag a woman against her will. No one was helping her, so I stepped in. But the guy was completely drunk, there was no reasoning with him anymore."
He cast a dismissive glance at the brute, still dazed on the ground. "So I pretended to take a big interest in his pathetic microscopic worm and took him with me."
Davis felt the tension in his body slowly dissolve. Helios was still with him. The damn thoughts faded away, and the jealousy eased a little. He looked down at the brute.
"What did you do to him?" he asked quietly, his voice tinged with a mix of curiosity and something else.
Helios grinned slyly, a glint in his eyes. "I put him to sleep. Even though I don't have my suitcase with me, I'm prepared for some things."
Davis blinked, surprised, a hint of amusement rising within him. "Please don't tell me your coat is full of medications."
Helios raised an eyebrow as he leaned slightly toward him. "And what if it is?"
Davis couldn't help but laugh. Helios really was an unpredictable person. How had he ever believed for even a moment that this man could part with his substances? A flicker of amusement passed over his face as he wrapped his arm around Helios's waist, pulling him closer.
"How long will he sleep?" he asked, his gaze falling back on the brute, still motionless on the floor. Helios gently tugged at Davis's chin, bringing his focus back to him.
"For a very long time," Helios replied with a mysterious smile.
"So, he won't just wake up?"
"No," Helios said with an almost soothing tone, giving Davis the momentary feeling that the world around them had suddenly become much smaller and safer.
"Even if it gets louder?" Davis asked, his lips now brushing against Helios's neck as he felt the stirring inside him, something he could hardly control anymore.
Helios let out a soft sigh, his body pressing even closer to Davis.
"Trust me, Davis, he won't wake up. My methods are quite… potent," Helios whispered, his voice a warm breath that seemed to seep into Davis' veins.
It wasn't just Helios's methods that were potent — Davis could feel himself getting hard. It was risky, but he didn't care. He'd been alone when he found Helios. No one else had been around, and since no one had entered the alley so far, it seemed they had at least a moment of peace.
Davis pulled Helios into a passionate kiss, his lips demanding and hungry. It wasn't just jealousy driving him, but a deep, all-consuming obsession that tied him to Helios. Yet the thought of how wrong things could've gone made him pause for a heartbeat. What if something had happened? What if that brute had turned violent? It was a disturbing thought — one he forced himself to push aside.
He needed to shake it off and refocus — on Helios, on the electric warmth coursing through his veins. That need, that fire inside him, pulsed with every heartbeat. Right here, right now, he wanted nothing more than to bury himself in his lover and fuck every thought from his brilliant mind.
Only when he felt he'd kissed away the memory of the brute's touch did he finally pull back. He bit lightly at Helios's lower lip. One hand caressed the curve of Helios's backside, while the other worked to undo his belt. His touch was rougher than usual, tugging at Helios with more force than ever before. But a small voice inside told him Helios could stand to feel a bit of his lingering anger.
Meanwhile, Helios had his arms wrapped around Davis's shoulders, holding on to him tightly. His breathing came in short bursts, and his eyes stayed locked on Davis — the green of his irises glowing even in the dim alleyway, filled with anticipation.
Davis slid his hand into Helios's pants, caressing his bare butt and gently squeezing the soft, elastic flesh. He put the fingers of his other hand into Helios's mouth and let him suck on them, pushing them in deep until his mouth was completely filled with his fingers. How much he wished he could fill his mouth with something else.
Only during sex did Helios fully submit to him. Only in those moments did Davis hold the power — and he savored every second of it. Once he felt there was enough slickness, he pulled his fingers back and slid them into Helios's pants, brushing past his arousal. He massaged his entrance, making sure everything was properly prepared.
They didn't have much time — this had to be quick. Davis didn't even want to imagine what would happen if someone found them
"Davis..." Helios whispered, gasping as Davis slid his fingers inside him and began to stretch him open. "Are you sure we should do this here? What if someone sees us?"
"No one's going to find us," Davis whispered in his ear. He kissed the soft skin of Helios's neck as he slid another finger into his lover. Helios's fingers dug into his back.
"Besides, I don't plan on dragging this out here. This is just a taste of what's waiting for you once we're home."
*He kissed Helios on the lips, deep and deliberate. Helios kept nibbling on his lower lip, wordlessly urging him to continue. Davis's fingers moved inside him again, each motion precise, practiced — he knew Helios's body like no one else. He found the spot he was looking for, the one that always made Helios shudder, and massaged it with steady pressure.
Helios clenched around his fingers, pulsing with anticipation — a clear sign it was time. Davis withdrew his hand and tugged Helios's pants down until they fell in a careless heap on the ground.
His own arousal throbbed with need, aching now. He freed himself with a sharp breath and wet himself with spit — they hadn't brought anything else. Then again, who the hell carried lube around just in case?
He turned Helios so he was facing away from him, guiding him gently. Pressing down on his upper body, Davis gripped his hips firmly, possessively. With his thumb, he traced over the tight ring of muscle, parting it just slightly, his erection hovering heavy and hot between them — framed by the smooth, pale perfection of Helios's ass.
He just couldn't resist and gave Helios a smack on the butt. Helios gasped quietly and threw him a reproachful glance over his shoulder.
"What is this going to be?" he whispered. "Just put it in already, I don't want to wait any longer."
"I was just happy that you gained some weight," he said as he massaged Helios' butt.
"Who do you think is he reason I gained weight?" he muttered. His cheeks were bright red.
Davis raised an eyebrow. "Are you embarrassed? As for me, I love the way you feel," he said as he rubbed his member between Helios legs,
"Davis...!" Helios groaned. He moved his hips desperately. "S-stop teasing me and just do it already...!"
Haaaah…
He loved how Helios twisted beneath him. He would savor it later, he would tease Helios until he begged him in tears to finally fuck him. A thought crossed his mind. Maybe he would tie him to his bed and only release the restraints just before Thomas came to wake him up.
God... just the thought of how exhausted and sweaty he would be...
He couldn't wait any longer. He pushed in.
Helios moaned in surprise; he had been so loud that he put his hand over his mouth.
The heat wrapped around him instantly, a rush of sensation that made his breath hitch. God, he was tight. Inch by inch, slowly but without pause, Davis sank into him until he was fully buried.
Helios's breathing turned ragged. One hand was pressed against the wall in a clenched fist, the other shoved into his own mouth, teeth biting down hard to muffle the sounds trying to escape.
Even muffled, the sounds Helios made were music to Davis's ears — low, desperate, undeniably erotic. He had given him a moment to adjust to his size, to catch his breath. But he couldn't hold back any longer.
They could be discovered at any moment. The danger only made it more intoxicating — this was unlike anything they'd ever done. Their first time outside the estate, and who would've thought something so reckless could feel this addictive?
The brute lying unconscious beside them meant nothing to Davis. If Helios said he wouldn't wake up, then he wouldn't.
His thrusts grew harder, deeper. Helios's moans rose in volume, though he still tried to hold them back. The tightness around him drove Davis wild, clinging to him as if refusing to let go — not that he had any intention of stopping. Helios trembled beneath him, barely able to stay upright.
Davis, being slightly taller, held him steady — one hand gripping his hip, the other wrapped around his chest, keeping him close. He had Helios completely under his control.
He shifted his angle, searching, and when he hit just the right spot, Helios's body jolted. His back arched, muscles tensing, and even though the sounds escaping him were still muffled, Davis could feel the intensity in every movement.
He started to worry Helios might actually hurt himself, biting down on his hand so hard. Davis gently pulled it away and replaced it with a kiss, his rhythm never faltering. He was close — so close — and judging by the way Helios trembled in his arms, he wasn't far behind.
Davis picked up his pace, their bodies meeting with rhythmic, echoing sounds. The distant noise of the ongoing celebration still carried through the night air, but for Davis, there was only the symphony between them — breaths, gasps, and the tension-filled silence.
Helios moaned into the kiss, his body pulsing around Davis in steady, overwhelming waves. His brows were furrowed, eyes half-lidded with pleasure. Then the kiss broke, and he cried out into Davis's mouth, one trembling hand grasping the arm that held him tightly.
Then his body gave out — slack and trembling, breath coming in heavy bursts.
Davis wasn't far behind. He pushed into him a few more times, savoring every second, every inch, every shudder — and just before he reached his peak, he pulled back, releasing between Helios's legs and onto the ground beneath them.
His breathing matched Helios's — deep, labored, and completely spent.
They kissed again, slowly this time, basking in the afterglow and the closeness of what they'd just shared. Eventually, they pulled apart, cleaning themselves up as best they could. Just as Helios had promised, the brute on the ground was still out cold.
They dressed in silence. Helios hadn't said a word, and that silence began to stir concern in Davis.
"Are you okay?" he asked, almost cautiously. Had he gone too far? What if Helios hadn't wanted this, not really?
Helios turned to face him, his cheeks slightly flushed.
"Okay?" he repeated softly, stepping closer. "I think we should do this again sometime. That was... highly stimulating."
A smile played at his lips — still slightly wet and swollen. He glanced down at the unconscious figure beside them, then reached for Davis's hand.
"Let's go, before someone finds us and starts asking questions no one wants to answer."
Davis took his lover's hand. "I take it you want to go home?"
Helios shot him a look that was pure temptation. "You promised me more than just this, didn't you?"
Davis pulled him in for one last kiss, murmuring against his lips, "I'll give you so much, you won't be able to walk tomorrow."
