Chapter 29 - Ch29 - The Worst Timeline

Yamazaki Manor.

Narumi.

Waking up with a yawn, Narumi stretched her arms wide, still sore all over. Feeling incredibly clean, no doubt thanks to their maids, despite what she's spent the last week doing... and despite how happy she was, she couldn't help the slight frown on her face as she woke up with her pussy... empty. No Sei-chan to greet her first thing in the morning.

But when she opened her eyes, Sei-chan was still there. Hovering over her as he stared down at her, his face... distraught.

"M-Mom, he, he's gone."

"W-What? Who?" she asked in turn, still waking up.

"I, I don't know how, b-but, All For One doesn't show up anymore. H-He... he's not at the warehouse, he's not at the hospital, and no matter how many times or in how many ways I kill his pet project, Overclock II... he just d-doesn't appear. It's almost like, Like... like he somehow k-knows about my Quirk."

Narumi's breath hitched.

"...Are, are you s-sure, S-Sei-chan?" she asked, her voice hesitant. Because if that were truly the case, then... then Sei-chan would have to g-g-go back—

"Nah, I'm just messin."

Narumi blinked. Then she gave her son a flat look.

"That... was not funny mister."

"Okay, okay... but I do actually have to get around to killing him, you know? And no matter how much I love having sex with you... six days? Really?"

"U-Uh, s-sorry..." she stuttered, looking away with a blush.

"And now she says she's sorry," Seiki says with a sigh, before laying back down next to her and snuggling against her back, his hands wrapping around her waist.

"...So you're going to get in touch with Nezu today?"

"Hmm... nah," Seiki muttered. "Let's cuddle for a bit, then go out into town for... not karaoke. Maybe one of those booth rentals for gaming? Then a movie after that. Just me, you, and a few of the girls," he decided, before letting out an annoyed huff. "Ya'know, they've been getting a little antsy with you cutting into their Seiki time."

"Uh, they were?"

"Yeah... you made Rinka pout."

"No..."

"D'Vorah was understanding, despite you kind of cutting in front of her like that— then again, you are my mom— and Azula... I just left her tied up somewhere, covered in clip-on vibes. Abandonment play is stepping into new territory with her, but when I checked in on her in false time, she seemed to be enjoying it quite a bit. As for Konan, well..."

The slips of paper floating around the room came together, forming the top-half of the local voyeur.

"You p-put on q-quite the show, Narumi-sama."

Narumi buried her face in her hands. "I... I did not need to know that..."

"There there," Seiki chided. "I understand wanting to hide your face— it must be mortifying, all of your incestuous desires being exposed to the entire manor like that."

"W-Wuh?"

"Were you too out of it to realize? Everyone that cleaned you up knew you were having sex with someone, and there's only one male in the manor that can pump your tummy full of cum..."

"Nooooooooo..."

*

Yuuei Highschool, 3 Days Later.

Seiki.

"Hmmm, and what brings you to my school, Seiki and friends... and mom?"

"Cypher 814: Cherry Blossoms."

Nezu blinked, just sort of staring at him. No doubt taking a few seconds to decode the message his future self had left for him.

But instead of cackling... he just gave Seiki a flat look.

"Seiki Yamazaki... I know you have infinite time, and your mother means a lot to you, but really? Putting off your fight with All For One... for 9 days? Really?"

To which Narumi just whined. "Can we not..."

"You better just get used to it mom," Seiki said, wrapping his arms around his mom in a way a son never should. "You're way too fun to tease."

"So what's the current plan looking like?" Nezu asked, seemingly already caught up.

"Well, we'll need Eraserhead, and we'll need to get in touch with some yakuza..."

*

Tokyo Central Park, Later That Night.

Overhaul.

"Time loopers," Nezu said, letting out a soft sigh. "The moment they know about you, and you don't know about them... they've won."

And wasn't that the truth.

And now, Kai Chisaki finds himself in between the clash of two Titans. And while such a thing would usually be completely disastrous... he could manage with this. Because while most Titans were completely incomparable, and you never wanted to find yourself up against one, ever, Overhaul's Quirk was just a bit unique in that regard.

His Quirk might be a direct counter to All For One's, but Atlas's Quirk was a direct counter to... to pretty much every other Quirk, really.

Unless your Quirk was just Absolute Shield, something that constantly protected you at all times from any form of attack, then you could never feasibly fight such a thing.

Especially with the plan laid out as it was...

Step 1: Play a radio signal that will ping O'Clock II's pager, guiding him to our location.

Step 2: Razor will cover All For One in slips of herself, doing so in a way that bypasses all of his sensory Quirks.

Step 3: Razor, Azula and I will trick and mutilate his pawn, O'Clock II.

Step 4: I will taunt All For One openly.

Step 5: When All For One opens a portal to the back of my head, Razor will pull him through.

Step 6: Eraserhead will suppress his Quirks.

Step 7: Overhaul will kill him.

'Fucking Christ,' Overhaul thought with a shudder. Yeah... All For One might be the literal boogeyman, but he was still a known factor. Overhaul had no idea how many Quirks or what Quirks that fucker's collected, especially if he's been around since the Dawn... but even so, Overhaul has not lost his Quirk. A Quirk that, given AFO's current condition, the myth would almost certainly steal if he could... so either he can't, or he won't risk it.

Kai's still pretty sure that that's his "double-suicide" theory in play, because instant-death is hard counter to most people.

And while the boogeyman wasn't someone you wanted the ire of...

He didn't even come close to Atlas. The kid that he wrote off as a random rich brat... because that was exactly what Atlas wanted him to think. Wanted everyone to think.

Even if he could recover from injuries from an instant, even if he could kill literally anyone with just a touch, even if he could control the battlefield with his Quirk... it would just take one lucky shot.

One lucky shot, and Kai Chisaki would die.

And Atlas would have infinite time to do get that lucky shot... all without Overhaul ever knowing the threat that he faces.

'It's no contest. Even if All For One is the Titan of Fear, he's practically nothing compared to Atlas, the Titan of...' his thoughts came to a halt, his brow furrowing. 'Well, the Titan of Time's already taken... or can there be two Titan's of Time? No no no, that'd just be stupid...'

"What's your headliner?" Kai found himself asking.

"My what?"

"What are you the Titan of?"

"Those... not only are those not official, because the world would much rather just call them all heroes instead of the beings that they are... but even if I'm technically a Titan, I don't really feel like one."

"Ah... because even if you're a terrifying opponent one on one, you can't control the world— or at least, you can't control it openly..." Kai concluded.

"Yeah... it'd be nice if I could just wave my dick around like the rest of 'em, but no. If the world were to learn what I was capable of, they'd never stop trying to take advantage of me, because even if I have infinite time, I'm still just a regular guy."

"So what, should I just call you The Weakest Titan?" Kai suggested.

Atlas just gave him a flat look.

"Precision," Nezu eventually interjected. "With infinite time at your disposal, no one can ever come close to the level of precision that you can accomplish in any given task.

"That makes you... the Titan of Precision."

Silence followed that statement, almost as if Nezu's very words had weight.

And in a way, they did.

"Precision, huh..." Atlas repeated out loud, as if to test the words on his tongue. "Well... I don't hate it. But we're getting side tracked. Everyone in position?"

"""Yeah./Yes./Yep./Uh-huh."""

"Then let's go ahead and call our bishop..."

And then, a few miles away, a certain pager rings.

*

Already in position, Kai watches.

Kai watches as O'Clock II, Number Six, arrives on the scene, faster than he can even react... only to immediately lose both of his legs. Running into near-invisible trip wires made of Razor's body, who merely stood where Atlas told her to stand. Then he's thoroughly dismantled by Firestarter and Deathclaw in the blink of an eye.

Someone that Kai would struggle with, or maybe even lose against... reduced to a limbless, charred corpse in just a few seconds.

Then he watches as Atlas taunts the boogeyman.

Purple fog manifests into existence behind him, a hand reaching towards the back of Atlas's head... only for Razor to drag Atlas out of the way, all while dragging All For One all the way through the portal of mist. All while Atlas's crew slaughters both his teleporter, and his reserve teleporter.

Then Atlas snaps his fingers.

On the brat's command, Overhaul bolts forwards... because Erasure has activated. And Kai can see it, with the way the boogeyman starts to wither.

Then Radio Waves activates. Twice in quick succession. The demonlord's last chance of escape, which just so happens to knock out every light fixture in the park... but not the small campfires that they set up beforehand. Giving Kai just enough light to see his target, to outstretch his hand and touch the back of the boogeyman.

OVERHAUL.

He feels every atom, every structure... every flow. He feels the flow of blood, the flow of neurons, the flow of being that is All For One. Because everyone has their secrets, and Overhaul's Quirk, which was originally determined to be matter manipulation... was so much more. Absolute Structure Manipulation, letting him sense structures down to the atomic level and rearrange them. It was how he was able to reassemble people, mind and all, with just a touch, even if he had never touched them before.

A Quirk worthy of a Titan... if he wasn't so fragile. But it took more than a powerful Quirk to shape the world.

And Overhaul knows that with just a touch, that he can reassemble All For One, the Quirk, into himself. He can become Japan's fourth Titan.

All because of Atlas, who has set the stage for him.

But...

The second he tries such a thing, not only will Atlas know, but Kai Chisaki will immediately forget. Even if he becomes the Titan of Fear, there is no scenario in which he takes Atlas's Quirk before Atlas activates it himself, going back to before Kai even knew that he had attempted such a thing.

With the Titan of Precision watching his every move, there is no route to victory.

So Kai Chisaki decides to do the smart thing.

With just a thought, All For One, the man, is reduced to a bloody mist.

The boogeyman of Japan splattered across Tokyo Central Park before he can even realize what's happening.

Silence.

"Huh," Kai muttered. Then he looked down at his right hand, and grimaced.

"Gross..."

There were a few drops of blood on his ungloved hand.

But before Kai can put two and two together, since with full control over All For One, the boogeyman's blood should never touch him...

Kai Chisaki feels the irresistible, unexplainable urge to grab his own face.

OVERHAUL.

"Quirks want to be used." -Kyudai Garaki.

As the man that has spent over a century deciphering the metaphysical phenomena known as Quirks, he knows so, so much about their inner workings.

He knows that, in some vague sense, Quirks want to be used.

That's why modern society is plagued with Villains— in an attempt to control Quirks, the governments of the world restricted them... and when a Quirk comes around that, thanks to the user's overseeing governmental body, cannot be expressed in any capacity... the Quirk pushes.

The mind of the user warps, or fractures, unable to express themselves... because that's exactly what Quirks are.

An extension of the self.

But the discovery that he has yet to make... is a frightening one indeed.

Because anyone who knows biology, knows that evolution is inherently lazy.

So how do Quirks do it? How do Quirks, that affect the metaphysical... connect to the metaphysical? How do they negate gravity, warp reality, create energy out of seemingly nothing? How to Quirks communicate with the very world itself?

Simply put, they awaken.

The Quirk manifests with a metaphysical copy of the mind, a copy of the physical, overlapping the Quirk factor. One that doesn't know it to be any different than the person itself, but guides the connections of the Quirk, allowing the Quirk to break the rules of the world.

That's why Himiko Toga, who's Quirk was shunned by her own parents, eventually lashed out. Her metaphysical self unable to cope with the pressure.

That's why Touya Todoroki, who's Quirk burned his very body, was eventually driven insane. His metaphysical self unable to cope with the idea that he was not fit for his body.

That's also why Narumi Yamazaki, who's been using her Quirk for years without restraint... is happier than she's ever been. Her metaphysical self happy to be used, happy to be activated constantly, to peer into the pasts of everyone she touches.

The term "Quirk Awakening" has never been so accurate.

And this was why, when All For One, the Quirk, takes Quirks... takes these metaphysical copies of the mind... he sees "vestiges." Because being the mind of someone else entirely breaks the illusion, and the metaphysical mind cannot cope with the idea that they are also All For One. So they become aware, so they fight.

And All For One, the man, is forced to reign them in.

And while that neatly answers why unused Quirks make their users lash out, it leads to the question...

What if you went too far?

What if you never had Quirk counseling, because you were born at the Dawn of Quirks? What if you never had someone to reign in your impulses, so you gave in to them all the time, every time? Using your Quirk whenever you felt the slightest desire to use it?

What if... what if you never bothered to have a personality for yourself? Never tried to become your own person, just picking an idea that sounded fun, and then acting on it? Because your Quirk makes you strong enough to do, so why not?

What if... what if you never bothered to give yourself a name, and just took the name of your Quirk?

Biology is never perfect.

And in such a situation... All For One, the Quirk, would have a greater grasp on All For One, the man, then what should ever be possible.

And All For One, despite not knowing, would not care.

Because to him, he and his Quirk are already one in the same.

So what happens when he dies?

Kyudai Garaki thought he knew. He thought that, since All For One, the Quirk, stole the stockpiles of energy that each Quirk Factor holds... it simply had the energy to sustain itself. And that was why, when he finally found Super Regeneration, and grafted the physical Quirk Factor on to All For One's corpse, the Quirk simply had enough energy to resuscitate All For One, the man.

And while that was close to the truth, that wasn't quite right.

No...

With the death of All For One, the man... All For One, the Quirk, found itself aware.

And then it used Super Regeneration to recreate its other half.

A warped, deranged copy of the original.

One that was not only just as impulsive as the original... but even more so. One that still had an obsessive desire to reunite with his brother, a desire to be the demonlord of the comics he once read... but those desires were warped, his deranged desires even more pronounced, since they were the only parts that All For One, the Quirk, vividly remembers of All For One, the man.

An imperfect copy.

All little things that Kyudai couldn't tell, that no one could tell... because All For One, the man, was a callous individual who held no one close to his heart.

And now...

Now All For One, the Quirk, finds itself aware once more.

With a toy far better than Super Regeneration.

*

OVERHAUL.

Kai Chisaki explodes into a shower of mist, only to immediately re-assemble.

Still sporting black hair and brown eyes... but now, now he wears a face eerily dissimilar to his own.

One that every user of One For All would instantly recognize.

Because the copy of All For One, the man, has now re-achieved his prime.

And when All For One, the man, realizes just what his new toy, Absolute Structure Manipulation, is capable of...

He laughs.

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
