Chapter 371 - Ch:158-166

Ch:158

Coulson secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

Under the current circumstances, this was already the best outcome.

For the S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents, who were displaced, having a safe haven was already a great fortune.

But Fury's expression became even more complex.

His strategic mind immediately saw through the implications behind this proposal.

Once they accepted Lin Feng's protection, his Agents would gradually become dependent on Lin Feng, and eventually might turn their loyalty to this young man.

And he, Nick Fury, would gradually be reduced to a commander without troops.

"I need to think about it."

Fury suppressed his anger, his voice unnaturally calm.

Lin Feng smiled slightly, as if he fully understood Fury's concerns.

"Of course, this is an important decision. However…"

His gaze swept over Coulson and Hill.

"Perhaps your subordinates already have their own ideas."

Coulson cleared his throat somewhat awkwardly:

"Officer, considering our current situation, Mr. Lin's proposal is indeed the optimal choice."

... 203: Hell's Kitchen! Invincible!

Hill also nodded in agreement:

"Our colleagues are scattered and fleeing. If we can have a safe gathering place, it will be very beneficial for reintegrating our forces."

Fury's face became even uglier.

He felt an invisible force dismantling his authority.

Lin Feng seemed to enjoy the scene, and he leisurely added:

"Oh, Natasha is here too. She has already joined my ranks, and I believe she will be happy to help you adapt to the new environment."

"Romanoff?"

Coulson asked in surprise, a glimmer of hope flashing in his eyes.

Lin Feng nodded in confirmation:

"That's right, she is my capable assistant now. I think she will be very happy to see you all."

Hill couldn't help but show a relieved smile:

"At least we can still see old friends."

Fury's fists quietly clenched under the table. Natasha was one of his most trusted Agents, and now she had also sided with Lin Feng.

He felt an unprecedented sense of frustration, but his expression remained as hard as iron.

"So."

Lin Feng looked around at everyone.

"What is your decision?"

Coulson and Hill looked at Fury in unison, awaiting his final decision.

Fury took a deep breath, knowing he had no other choice.

"We will temporarily accept your help."

He practically squeezed these words out through gritted teeth.

"But I have conditions."

"Tell me."

Lin Feng seemed intrigued.

"We maintain the right to act independently."

Fury looked Lin Feng directly in the eyes.

"We are not your subordinates, but allies."

Lin Feng pondered for a moment, then nodded:

"Conditions are reasonable. You can maintain your own organizational structure; I will only provide shelter and necessary resource support."

He extended his hand.

"Deal?"

Fury hesitated for a moment, then finally reached out and shook Lin Feng's hand.

At this moment, he felt as if he had made a deal with the devil.

"Matt."

Lin Feng turned to Daredevil, who was standing by.

"Please go call Natasha."

Daredevil nodded and left.

A brief silence fell over the conference room, and a strange tension filled the air.

A few minutes later, Natasha walked into the room.

--- Requesting fresh flowers --- She was wearing a simple black suit, her red hair casually draped over her shoulders.

Seeing Fury and the others, a flicker of surprise crossed her eyes, but she quickly returned to her usual calm.

"Long time no see, Fury."

She nodded in greeting, then looked at the others.

"Coulson, Hill."

Coulson stood up, his eyes full of relief:

... "Natasha, it's good to see you safe and sound."

Hill also gave her a warm smile:

"We were all worried about you."

Natasha smiled slightly, then turned to Lin Feng:

"What's wrong?"

Lin Feng briefly explained the situation:

"Fury and his team will temporarily receive our protection in Hell's Kitchen. I hope you can help them settle down, as you understand their needs and habits best."

Natasha keenly sensed the deeper meaning in Lin Feng's words. She nodded:

"Of course, I will arrange everything."

Fury's gaze moved back and forth between Lin Feng and Natasha, his sense of unease growing stronger.

His once most capable Agent had now become Lin Feng's right-hand man.

204: Natasha! Room booking?!

This filled him with a deep sense of loss and vigilance.

"Then."

Lin Feng stood up, signaling the end of the meeting.

"Natasha will take you to see the living quarters and other facilities. If you have any needs, you can tell her directly."

Natasha gestured to Fury and the others:

"Follow me."

Coulson and Hill immediately stood up, ready to follow.

Fury slowly rose, his single eye "Zero Six Seven" fixed on Lin Feng, as if trying to see through the young man's soul.

"This isn't over, Lin Feng."

Fury said in a low voice, with a subtle threat.

Lin Feng merely smiled slightly:

"Of course not, Director Fury. This is just a new beginning."

Fury gave Lin Feng a deep look, then turned and followed Natasha and the others.

The moment he left the conference room, he had already made up his mind.

He still had a trump card, a resource even Lin Feng might not know about—

Carol Danvers, codenamed "Captain Marvel."

That was his last hope, and his only chance to turn the tables.

Natasha led Fury and his team through the spacious corridors, showing them various areas of the building.

"This will be your office area."

She pointed to a simply decorated but fully equipped hall.

"It's already equipped with the latest communication and computer equipment."

Coulson looked at the facilities in surprise:

"These… are all prepared for us?"

Natasha nodded:

"Lin Feng anticipated this day might come a long time ago. He has always been preparing to welcome you."

Hill looked around thoughtfully:

"He seems to have foresight about many things."

"More than you imagine."

Natasha replied briefly, continuing to lead them on the tour.

Fury remained silent, simply taking note of every detail, every possible entrance and exit, and security measure.

His strategic mind never stopped working.

When they arrived at the living quarters, Natasha opened several prepared suites.

"Everyone has their own independent space, and basic living necessities are already prepared."

Hill looked at the comfortable rooms in surprise:

"This is better than our dorms in the Triskelion 0…"

Natasha smiled slightly:

"Lin Feng believes that making allies comfortable is the most basic courtesy."

Fury snorted, but made no comment.

After the tour, Natasha led them to a lounge area.

"Get a good rest tonight; tomorrow we can discuss more details."

She looked at Fury.

Ch:159

Lin Feng hopes you can find your place, rather than feeling imprisoned."

Fury finally spoke, "Tell Lin Feng, we appreciate it. But this won't change anything."

Natasha gave him a meaningful look, "Everything has changed, Nick. It's just that some people haven't accepted that fact yet."

With that, she turned and left, leaving Fury and his group in the rest area, silently looking at each other.

"She's changed."

After Natasha had gone far, Coulson whispered.

Hill nodded in agreement, "She's completely Lin Feng's person now."

Fury's expression was as grim as iron, "Everyone changes, but that doesn't mean we have to accept such changes."

...205: Monitoring Nick Fury!

He looked around to make sure there were no listening devices, then lowered his voice.

"We need a backup plan."

Coulson and Hill exchanged a worried glance.

Fury continued, "For now, accept Lin Feng's protection, but remain vigilant. We cannot completely rely on his goodwill."

"Then what should we do?" Hill asked.

A decisive glint flashed in Fury's one eye, "Wait for the right moment. I still have a trump card... I just need to find a way to contact her."

Coulson keenly guessed, "You mean... Carol Danvers?"

Fury nodded slightly, saying no more.

He knew Carol Danvers was his last hope, and the only possible way to counter Lin Feng's extraordinary power.

At this moment, in Lin Feng's office, he was discussing the recent meeting with Natasha.

"Fury won't be content to be marginalized like this," Natasha commented.

"He must be planning something."

Lin Feng leaned back in his chair, looking confident, "Of course, that's exactly what I expect. A fox backed into a corner often reveals its sharpest claws."

Natasha raised an eyebrow, "You want to see what other tricks he has?"

"Not just that."

Lin Feng's eyes deepened.

"I want to see what choices a person who is used to controlling everything makes when they lose control."

"Is this a psychological game?" Natasha asked curiously.

Lin Feng shook his head, "No, this is a game about the future. Fury represents the old order, and I... represent new possibilities."

Natasha was silent for a moment, then asked, "So, what's next?"

Lin Feng stood up and walked to the window, "It's time to meet another old friend. The Winter Soldier we just captured, Bucky Barnes."

"Tony Stark has already taken him back to his lab?"

"Exactly," Lin Feng nodded.

"Tony hopes to break HYDRA's mental control over Bucky. This is a good opportunity... perhaps it can draw out more pieces."

Natasha understood Lin Feng's intention, "Including Captain America?"

Lin Feng smiled slightly, "The greatest super soldier in history, sleeping beneath the ice of the North Pole. It's time to wake him up, isn't it?"

A hint of worry flashed in Natasha's eyes, "Are you sure he's still alive?"

"I have good reason to believe so," Lin Feng said with certainty.

"And Bucky will be the key to finding him."

Natasha nodded, "Then, I will continue to monitor Furyand them, to make sure they don't cause any trouble."

"Very good," Lin Feng picked up his coat.

"I'm going to Stark Manor now. Let's see how our Winter Soldier is waking up."

.

Stark Manor still maintained its unique blend of luxury and technology.

As Lin Feng's car drove through the gate, Happy Hogan hurried to meet him.

"Mr. Lin," Happy extended his hand warmly.

"Mr. Stark told me you would be coming. Welcome."

Lin Feng shook Happy's hand, "Thank you, Mr. Hogan. Is Tony in the lab?"

"Yes, he's been there for two whole days," Happy's tone carried a hint of helplessness... 206: HYDRA, Rise!

"Ever since you gave him that... uh, Winter Soldier, he's been like a man possessed."

Lin Feng smiled slightly, "Tony has always been a tireless researcher."

"Indeed," Happy led Lin Feng into the manor.

"But this time seems particularly different. He's especially interested in that person's mechanical arm."

As they walked and talked, Happy curiously asked, "By the way, Mr. Lin, I've always wanted to ask... how did you find and subdue the Winter Soldier? He's said to be one of HYDRA's most dangerous assassins."

Lin Feng replied meaningfully, "Everyone has weaknesses, Happy. Even the most dangerous weapon has its safety valve."

Happy nodded, half-understanding, and didn't press further.

Soon, they arrived at the elevator leading to the underground lab.

"Mr. Stark is in the lowest-level lab, the one with the highest security," Happy entered a complex password, and the elevator door opened.

"I can only take you this far."

Lin Feng nodded in thanks, "Thank you for leading the way, Happy."

Taking the elevator down to the lowest level, Lin Fengentered Tony Stark's core laboratory.

The equipment here was more advanced than in ordinary labs, with various holographic projections and robotic arms busily working in the air.

Tony Stark had his back to the entrance, completely engrossed in his research.

Hearing footsteps, he said without turning his head, "If it's you, Happy, I told you not to disturb me—"

"It's me, Tony," Lin Feng said.

Tony immediately turned around, a tired but excited expression on his face, "Ah, Mr. magic is finally gracing us with his presence!"

He walked over and shook Lin Feng's hand, "I almost thought you'd just dump this hot potato on me and forget about it."

Lin Feng followed Tony deeper into the lab, "How is Bucky?"

"Terrible," Tony said bluntly.

"HYDRA's mental control over him is deeper than I imagined. I've tried everything—medication, memory reconstruction, even neural electrical stimulation... nothing can completely remove the influence of those damned trigger words."

They came to a reinforced glass isolation room.

Bucky Barnes was restrained in a specially designed chair, his eyes blankly staring ahead.

His metal arm was restricted by a special device, unable to move.

"Poor guy," Tony shook his head.

"Brainwashed for seventy years, turned into a killing machine. I can't even imagine what he's been through."

Lin Feng looked at Bucky, "Have you tried to awaken his memories?"

"Of course," Tony nodded.

Ch:160

I've gathered all the data on Sergeant James Barnes, trying to awaken his past. But every time he seems on the verge of breaking through that mental barrier, HYDRA's conditioned reflexes pull him back."

He turned to Lin Feng, his eyes gleaming with anticipation.

"So, Mr. Mage, technology has reached its limit. Now it's time for your magic to take the stage."

Lin Feng pondered for a moment:

"Let me try."

Tony quickly typed a series of commands, and the door to the isolation room slid open.

"Be careful."

He warned him… flying.

207: Captain America Returns! After 70 Years!

"Even restrained, he is extremely dangerous."

Lin Feng walked into the isolation room, standing face to face with Bucky.

The Winter Soldier looked up, his hollow eyes staring directly at Lin Feng, devoid of any emotion.

"Bucky Barnes."

Lin Feng said softly.

"Sergeant James Buchanan Barnes."

A faint flicker appeared in Bucky's eyes, but it quickly returned to indifference.

Lin Feng slowly raised his hands, and red chaos magicswirled at his fingertips.

"You've been controlled by HYDRA for too long. It's time to come back."

His magic, like threads of silk, gently probed into the depths of Bucky's consciousness.

Under Tony's surprised gaze, a layer of red energy enveloped Bucky's head.

Bucky began to struggle, letting out painful groans.

His eyes flickered with fear and confusion, as if two consciousnesses were vying for control of his body.

"Hold on, Bucky."

Lin Feng intensified his magic, the chaos magic delving into every HYDRA-modified neuron and every twisted memory within Bucky.

Outside the isolation room, Tony held his breath, nervously observing the scene.

Suddenly, Bucky let out a heart-wrenching roar, then slumped in the chair.

Lin Feng withdrew his magic, stepped back, and waited for the result.

A few seconds later, Bucky slowly lifted his head.

This time, his gaze was no longer empty, but filled with confusion, pain, and deep exhaustion.

"Where… where am I?"

He asked hoarsely, his voice carrying the first true consciousness of James Barnes in seventy years.

Lin Feng breathed a sigh of relief and gestured for Tonyto release the restraints.

"You're safe, Bucky. You're at Stark Manor."

Bucky looked around in confusion, his gaze finally resting on his metal arm.

Painful memories flooded back, and his face showed deep self-reproach and sorrow.

"What have I done?"

He whispered, his voice trembling.

"Those people… those I killed…"

Lin Feng took a step closer, his tone firm yet gentle:

"That wasn't you, Bucky. That was what HYDRA made you do. You are the victim, not the murderer."

Tony also entered the isolation room, slightly wary but trying to appear friendly:

"Hey, soldier. Welcome back to the 21st century. I'm Tony Stark."

Bucky looked up at Tony, a flicker of surprise and more guilt in his eyes:

"Stark… Howard's son?"

Tony's expression stiffened for a moment, but he quickly returned to normal:

"That's right, the son of that genius inventor."

Lin Feng sensed the subtle tension between the two and quickly changed the subject:

"Bucky, there's a lot we need to tell you. You've missed a lot of history."

Bucky nodded blankly, his gaze wandering, seemingly trying to accept this new World.

Suddenly, his eyes lit up:

"Steve! Steve Rogers! How is he?"

Lin Feng and Tony exchanged a meaningful look.

"About that."

Lin Feng slowly began.

"We have some news for you."

"Is he… dead?"

Bucky's voice was almost trembling.

Lin Feng shook his head… 208: Crash? Man!!

"No, we have reason to believe that Captain AmericaSteve Rogers might still be alive, frozen somewhere in the North Pole."

Bucky suddenly stood up, his eyes gleaming with long-lost hope.

"What? Steve is alive? We must find him!"

Tony looked at Lin Feng in surprise.

"Wait, are you sure? I thought that was just a legend, or some kind of S.H.I.E.L.D. secret project."

Lin Feng nodded in confirmation.

"According to the information I have, Captain Rogers did not die when his plane crashed into the North Pole. Instead, due to the Super Soldier Serum, he entered a state similar to hibernation. He is likely still frozen somewhere in the North Pole."

A flame of determination ignited in Bucky's eyes.

"We must go find him. Now."

Tony was also intrigued by the news.

"If Captain America is really alive… this would be an unprecedented discovery. I can provide all the necessary resources, including my private quinjet and the most advanced search equipment."

Lin Feng smiled slightly, looking at the eager expressions on their faces.

"Well then, it seems we have a new mission."

Tony immediately sprang into action, issuing various preparation commands.

"Jarvis, prepare the quinjet. Notify the R&D team; I need all equipment suitable for polar search loaded immediately."

"Yes, sir."

Jarvis's voice echoed from the ceiling.

Bucky stood aside, still immersed in the hope of finding his old friend.

But his expression suddenly became hesitant.

"What's wrong?"

Lin Feng looked at Bucky, noticing his sudden hesitation.

"If we really find Steve… what will he think of me?"

Bucky whispered, his metal arm clenched into a fist.

"I'm not the Bucky he remembers anymore. I've done so many terrible things…"

Lin Feng walked over to Bucky and gently patted his shoulder:

"Steve Rogers is the most loyal friend I know. No matter what happens, he will stand by you."

Tony interjected from the side:

"Don't be so sentimental, Barnes. If your old friend really was frozen for seventy years, the first thing he'll probably ask when he wakes up is where you got that cool metal arm."

--- Requesting fresh flowers ---" He paused, then added:

"By the way, the technology for that arm is really outdated. I'll upgrade it for you later."

Bucky smiled faintly, his tension seeming to ease a bit.

"Sir, the quinjet is ready, and all polar search equipment has been loaded."

Jarvis's voice sounded.

Tony clapped his hands:

"Alright, ladies and gentlemen, it's time to go fish someone out of the North Pole."

.

Three hours later, Tony Stark's private quinjet cut through the clouds, flying towards the Arctic region.

Inside the cabin, Lin Feng, Tony, and Bucky sat around a holographic projection table, which displayed a detailed map of the Arctic region.

"According to historical records, Steve Rogers' last communication was in this area."

Lin Feng pointed to an area on the map.

"He was piloting Schmidt's plane and chose to crash it to prevent bombs from hitting U.S. cities."

… Up.

209: Searching for Captain America? An Old Relic!

Bucky stared at the map, his eyes gleaming with the light of memory:.

"Steve was always like that, willing to sacrifice himself to protect others."

Tony rolled his eyes:

"Typical do-gooder behavior. But seriously, if he really survived under the ice for seventy years, then the Super Soldier Serum's effect is even more astonishing than my father described."

"Your father was involved in the Super Soldier program?" Bucky asked.

"Howard Stark was one of Dr. Erskine's main collaborators."

Tony replied, with a hint of complexity in his tone.

"He always regarded Rogers as one of his greatest achievements—though technically it was Dr. Erskine's achievement."

Lin Feng noticed Bucky's subtle reaction upon hearing Howard's name but chose not to mention it.

Instead, he continued to explain:

"The Super Soldier Serum altered Steve's metabolism and cellular regeneration. Theoretically, in extremely low-temperature environments, this could lead him to enter a state similar to hibernation, rather than death."

Ch:161

So, what we're looking for is a seventy-year-old human popsicle," Tony concluded, adjusting the search algorithm.

"Jarvis, set scanning parameters, look for any large metal structures, especially wreckage from World War II aircraft."

"Yes, sir."

Bucky stood up and walked to the porthole, looking out at the endless white ice field below.

"Hang in there, Steve."

He whispered, "We're coming for you."

.

The Quinjet landed on the Arctic ice field, and the biting cold wind immediately enveloped them.

Tony put on a specialized polar suit.

Lin Feng, meanwhile, used magic to create a warming barrier around himself and Bucky.

"Jarvis, begin scan," Tony ordered, complex data streams appearing on his armor's faceplate.

The three split up, using different methods to search the vast ice field.

Lin Feng's chaos magic probed the ice, searching for any signs of life.

Tony's armor used the most advanced scanning technology, searching for metal and energy signals.

Bucky, relying on his Winter Soldier training, observed the terrain and possible crash marks.

However, after six hours of searching, they found nothing.

"Damn it!"

Tony kicked a snowdrift in frustration.

"This area is too big, it's like looking for a needle in an iceberg."

Bucky stood silently at the edge of an ice cliff, his eyes hollow.

Lin Feng walked up to him:

"Don't give up, Bucky. We've only just begun."

"Maybe our intel was wrong."

Bucky whispered, "Maybe he really is…"

"Hey, you two!"

Tony suddenly shouted, interrupting Bucky.

"Look over there!"

Following Tony's refer to direction, they saw a group of people and equipment on the distant ice field.

"What is that?"

Bucky squinted and asked.

Lin Feng concentrated on observing:

"Looks like some kind of scientific expedition team."

Tony's faceplate displayed an enlarged image:

"Arctic Glacier Research Team. Looking at their equipment, they should be studying ancient ice layers."

The three exchanged glances, and a thought simultaneously occurred to them.

"Maybe they can help," Lin Feng said.

He knew the plot, after all… 210: Spending millions? You're invincible!

"Or at least we can borrow their equipment," Tony added.

The three quickly moved towards the scientific expedition team.

As they got closer, they could see a dozen researchers in heavy polar clothing busy around a huge ice-drilling rig.

"Hi!"

Tony took off his helmet and waved to the expedition team.

"Tony Stark, maybe you've heard of me?"

The members of the expedition team turned around in surprise.

Seeing Iron Man himself standing on the Arctic ice field, their expressions quickly changed from shock to excitement.

"Mr. Stark?"

A middle-aged man who looked like the team leader stepped forward.

"I'm Dr. Derek Hansen, head of the Arctic Glacier Research Team. This is truly… an unexpected pleasure."

"Dr. Hansen, it's a pleasure to meet you."

Tony shook his hand.

"These are my friends, Lin Feng and James. We're on a… private search mission."

Dr. Hansen looked at the three curiously:

"In the Arctic? Searching for what?"

Lin Feng stepped forward:

"We're looking for the wreckage of a World War II aircraft. We have reason to believe it crashed in this area."

"A World War II aircraft?"

Dr. Hansen raised an eyebrow in surprise.

"That's not common. However, our equipment can indeed detect anomalous objects beneath the ice, mainly for studying ancient ice bubbles and sediments…"

Just then, a young researcher ran over in a hurry:

"Dr. Hansen! The scanner detected an anomalous signal! There's a huge metallic object about 200 meters below the ice!"

Everyone's gaze turned to the researcher.

"What kind of metallic object?" Dr. Hansen asked.

The researcher handed over a tablet computer:

"Based on the shape and size analysis, it's very likely some kind of aircraft!"

Tony, Lin Feng, and Bucky exchanged a hopeful glance.

"Dr. Hansen," Tony immediately said.

"I'm willing to provide a substantial amount of funding for your research project if you allow us to use your equipment to excavate this discovery."

Dr. Hansen blinked:

"Mr. Stark, are you saying…"

"Five million dollars, directly donated to your research institution," Tony said bluntly.

"Plus full compensation for any equipment damaged during the excavation process."

The members of the expedition team whispered to each other in surprise.

Dr. Hansen cleared his throat:

"That's a very generous offer, Mr. Stark. But I must point out that if this is indeed a historical artifact, we need to handle it according to international protocols…"

"Of course, of course."

Tony quickly agreed.

"Everything will be done by the book. I just want to speed things up. Time is life, literally."

Bucky stood nervously to the side, his gaze constantly shifting between the scanner image on the tablet and Dr. Hansen.

Lin Feng gently patted his shoulder, silently conveying comfort.

Finally, Dr. Hansen nodded in agreement:

"Alright, Mr. Stark. Our equipment is at your disposal. But I hope my team can be involved throughout and document this discovery."

"Deal." Tony extended his hand, a triumphant smile on his face… 211: Excavating Captain America! Frozen!

Over the next twenty-four hours, activity on the ice field became exceptionally busy.

Tony brought in more equipment and personnel.

Stark Industries helicopters constantly shuttled back and forth, transporting advanced excavation and scanning equipment.

Bucky barely rested, staying at the excavation site the entire time.

Lin Feng used magic to assist in the excavation, carefully melting the ice without damaging any objects that might be beneath.

"Scan shows we're only 20 meters from the target!"

A technician shouted.

Everyone held their breath. As the last layer of ice was carefully removed, a huge black object gradually emerged.

"That's…"

Dr. Hansen was too surprised to speak.

"Schmidt's plane."

Bucky whispered, an unbelievable glint in his eyes.

The outline of the plane was clearly visible in the ice.

Although severely deformed, it was still recognizable as a huge World War II aircraft.

"Jarvis, scan for life signs."

Tony ordered, his voice trembling slightly.

"A faint life signal detected, sir. Located in the cockpit area."

Bucky abruptly turned to Tony, a flame of hope igniting in his eyes:

"He's alive?"

"If Jarvis says there's a life signal, then there is."

Tony said firmly.

"Speed up the excavation, but be extra careful!"

The members of the expedition team whispered in surprise, unable to believe that someone could still be alive beneath the ice.

"This is impossible…"

Dr. Hansen murmured.

"No one can survive under the ice for seventy years…"

Lin Feng smiled faintly:

Ch:162

Doctor, some things are beyond the scope of conventional science."

As the last layer of ice was cleared, the plane's cockpit was fully exposed.

Tony carefully used a laser to cut through the deformed metal, creating an entrance.

"Let me in."

Bucky insisted.

Tony nodded:

"Be careful. The structure might be unstable."

Bucky took a deep breath and crawled into the plane wreckage.

The cockpit was dark, with only the beam of his flashlight illuminating the way.

Frost covered every surface, and the instruments on the dashboard had long since failed.

Then, his beam landed on the pilot's seat.

There, encased in frost, was a figure in a Captain America uniform.

"Steve..."

Bucky's voice choked.

He quickly stepped forward and brushed away the frost covering Steve's face.

Despite his skin being as pale as snow, the face he knew so well was still serene, as if he were merely sleeping.

"I found him!"

Bucky shouted.

"He's here!"

Lin Feng and Tony immediately rushed over, carefully entering the cockpit.

"My god, it really is him."

Tony exclaimed, looking at the legendary Captain America frozen before him.

(of Wang Zhao) Lin Feng immediately checked Steve's condition:

"His life force is extremely weak, but it is definitely there. We need to transfer him to a medical facility immediately."

"Jarvis, prepare the medical pod and activate all life support systems."

Tony commanded.

"Notify New York headquarters to prepare for the cryogenic resuscitation procedure."

The three carefully moved Steve from the frozen pilot's seat.

His body was stiff as stone!.

...212: Captain America wakes up! Who are you?!

But as Lin Feng's magic gently enveloped him, he gradually became movable.

The members of the scientific expedition team watched in astonishment, some even starting to take photos to document it.

"Is this... Captain America?"

Dr. Hansen asked incredulously.

Tony nodded seriously:

"Yes, and he needs immediate medical attention. Dr. Hansen, regarding this discovery, I hope your team can keep it confidential for now."

Dr. Hansen looked at Steve being carried out, then at Tony's firm gaze, and finally nodded in agreement:

"I will ask the team members to sign a non-disclosure agreement. But Mr. Stark, this is a major historical discovery..."

"I know."

Tony said.

"Once his 067 condition is confirmed stable, we will handle the follow-up matters appropriately. That is my promise."

.

Stark's private jet flew back to New York at top speed.

Inside the cabin, Steve was placed in a specialized medical pod, with various advanced equipment monitoring his vital signs and slowly raising his body temperature.

Bucky stayed by the medical pod without moving, staring intently at Steve inside.

"He'll be fine."

Lin Feng comforted, handing Bucky a cup of hot coffee.

"The super-soldier serum protected him."

Bucky took the coffee (agdh) but didn't drink it:

"I just... can't believe it. Seventy years have passed, and we're both still alive, but we both missed an entire century."

Tony walked over, looking at the readings inside the medical pod:

"His vital signs are gradually strengthening. Heart rate and brainwaves are all approaching normal values. To be honest, this is simply a medical miracle."

"No, this is Steve."

Bucky said softly.

"He always creates miracles."

...Three days later, the medical center of Stark Tower.

Steve Rogers was placed in a special recovery room, surrounded by various monitoring equipment.

According to the doctors' assessment, his body was completely out of danger, just needing time to wake up naturally.

Bucky was almost inseparable, only resting when Lin Feng and Tony strongly insisted.

This afternoon, when Bucky briefly stepped out, the monitoring equipment suddenly sounded an alarm.

"His brainwave activity is rapidly increasing!"

A doctor exclaimed.

"He's waking up!"

Lin Feng and Tony immediately rushed to the ward.

Steve's eyelids began to flutter, and the rise and fall of his chest became more pronounced.

"Notify Barnes."

Tony said to an assistant nearby.

A few minutes later, Steve Rogers slowly opened his eyes.

He blinked blankly, looking around the unfamiliar surroundings.

"He's awake!"

A researcher exclaimed, immediately running out of the room to notify others.

Steve tried to sit up, but found his body was still very weak.

"This... where is this?"

His voice was hoarse and weak.

Lin Feng stepped forward:

"Captain Rogers, you are safe now. Please don't move too quickly."

Steve looked at Lin Feng warily:

"Who are you? Where is this place?"

Just then, a group of researchers and doctors in white coats poured into the room, discussing excitedly.

"Unbelievable!"

"He really woke up!"

"Vital signs are completely normal!"

...213: Plane crash? Man!

Steve's vigilance immediately heightened. He suddenly sat up, pulling out the monitoring equipment connected to his body.

Alarms immediately blared.

"Please calm down, Captain Rogers!"

A doctor tried to approach, but Steve had already jumped out of bed, adopting a defensive stance.

"Back off!"

Steve commanded, his sharp eyes scanning the room.

"Where is this? Who's in charge?"

The researchers retreated in a panic. Tony tried to step forward:

"Hey, soldier, calm down—"

But Steve had already made a decision.

He quickly assessed the situation, then rushed towards the door, pushing aside the researchers blocking his way.

No one could stop a super-soldier determined to escape, even if he had just woken up from being frozen.

"Damn it!"

Tony cursed. "He ran off!"

Lin Feng said calmly:

"Let him go. He needs to see the outside world for himself."

"But he'll get lost!"

A doctor said in a panic.

"He knows nothing about modern New York!"

Lin Feng smiled slightly:

"Don't worry, I know where he'll go."

.

Steve Rogers rushed out of Stark Tower and onto the streets of New York.

He stopped, looking around in shock.

Towering glass skyscrapers, flashing holographic advertisements, a constant stream of strange cars, oddly dressed pedestrians... all of it made him feel strange and fearful.

"Where is this?"

He murmured, slowly walking forward, trying to find any familiar landmarks.

Passersby looked curiously at the tall man in a hospital gown, some even taking out their phones to take pictures.

Steve had no idea what these small devices were.

He instinctively avoided the crowd and continued walking.

When he turned a corner and saw the familiar silhouette of a building in the distance, his heart settled slightly.

Ch:163

At least Times Square hadn't moved, though it looked completely different—

It was filled with giant screens and flashing lights.

Just as Steve was trying to comprehend everything before him, a voice came from behind:

"Welcome to seventy years later, Captain."

Steve whirled around, seeing Lin Feng standing a few steps away, smiling calmly.

"Who are you?!"

Steve asked warily, adopting a defensive stance.

"---Requesting Flowers--- What is this place?"

"My name is Lin Feng."

Lin Feng replied, his tone gentle.

"This is New York, but it's New York in 2010. You've been asleep in the ice for nearly seventy years, Captain."

Steve's eyes widened in disbelief:

"This is impossible..."

"..."I know it's hard to accept."

Lin Feng said.

"But it's the truth. You crashed Schmidt's plane into the Arctic glacier, and the super soldier serum put you into a state of suspended animation. We found you and brought you back."

Steve shook his head, trying to process the information:

"We? Who do you mean by 'we'?"

Lin Feng smiled slightly:

"Tony Stark and I—Howard's son, and..."

He deliberately paused.

"And Bucky."

Steve's expression instantly became agitated:

"Impossible! Bucky is dead! He fell from the train! Who are you? Don't lie to me!"

"Wouldn't you know if it's true by seeing Bucky?"

...Up.

214: Welcome to the 21st Century!

Lin Feng said calmly.

"He's anxiously looking for you at Stark Tower. If you're willing, I can take you to see him."

Steve stared at Lin Feng, half-believing, half-doubting, struggling internally.

Finally, hope triumphed over suspicion:

"Take me to him. If you try any tricks..."

"I promise, no tricks."

Lin Feng raised his hands.

"Follow me, Captain."

.

"067" In the lobby of Stark Tower, Bucky paced anxiously.

Tony sat nearby, his fingers tapping rhythmically on the armrest.

"Where could he have gone?"

Bucky asked, his voice filled with worry.

"He knows nothing about this era!"

"Relax, Lin Feng said he knows where to find him."

Tony replied, though he himself seemed a bit uneasy.

"And honestly, if I were Rogers, waking up after being frozen for seventy years and seeing a bunch of people in white coats surrounding me, I'd run too."

The elevator doors suddenly opened, and Lin Fengstepped out.

Behind him was a wary Steve Rogers.

"Steve!"

Bucky immediately stood up, his voice trembling with emotion.

Steve froze, staring at Bucky in disbelief.

That face, though showing more fatigue and the marks of time, was undoubtedly that of his best friend, James Barnes.

"Bucky?"

Steve's voice was almost a whisper.

"This... how is this possible?"

Bucky took a step forward, tears in his eyes:

"It's me, Steve. I can't believe it either... but we both made it."

Steve slowly walked towards Bucky, reaching out to touch his shoulder, as if to confirm he wasn't an illusion.

Then, the two embraced simultaneously.

Seventy years of time seemed to be compressed and transcended in that moment.

"I thought you were dead."

Steve choked out.

"I watched you fall..."

"I thought I'd never see you again either."

Bucky replied, his voice equally shaky.

"But here we are, old friend."

Tony and Lin Feng stood by, quietly watching the moving reunion.

Tony cleared his throat:

"Uh, not to interrupt this touching reunion, but maybe we should get Captain a change of clothes? Hospital gowns aren't exactly fashionable on the streets of New York 0 ..."

Steve finally noticed Tony. He released Bucky and looked curiously at the stranger:

"You are..."

"Tony Stark."

Tony extended his hand.

"Howard's son. Glad to finally meet you, my dad talked a lot about you."

Steve shook Tony's hand in shock:

"Howard's son... My God, it really has been seventy years."

"I'm afraid so, Captain."

Tony nodded.

"Welcome to the 21st century."

...Over the next few days, Steve and Bucky spent a lot of time together, sharing their experiences.

Bucky told Steve how he was rescued by HYDRA and transformed into the Winter Soldier.

Steve recounted his last memories—

Crashing the plane into the glacier, and the confusion upon waking up.

They sat on the balcony of Stark Tower, overlooking the modern New York skyline.

"So, Lin Feng used magic to help you break free from HYDRA's control?"

Steve asked, still trying to understand it all... 215: HYDRA? Captain America is stunned!

Bucky nodded:

"Yes. Technology couldn't completely erase those trigger words, but his magic did."

He paused.

"This World has become more complex than in our time, Steve. There are super-powered people, aliens, magic..."

"Sounds like science fiction."

Steve shook his head and smiled.

"But aren't we ourselves characters from science fiction? A super soldier and an assassin with a metal arm."

Bucky laughed:

"You're right."

Steve's expression turned serious.

"Bucky, about what you did as the Winter Soldier... that wasn't your fault."

"I know."

Bucky whispered, though his eyes indicated he didn't entirely believe it 06.

"But those memories are still here."

He pointed to his head.

"The faces of those people, their screams... I can't forget."

Steve gripped Bucky's shoulder:

"We'll face all of this together. Just like we always have."

"Till the end?"

Bucky asked, recalling their youthful vow.

"Till the end."

Steve replied firmly.

.

Later, Lin Feng and Tony joined them.

The four sat around in the reception room of Stark Tower, discussing future plans.

"So, what are you two planning to do?"

Tony asked, pouring everyone a drink.

"Seventy years of vacation are over, any plans?"

Steve and Bucky exchanged a glance, both looking a bit lost.

Ch:164

To be honest, I don't know," Steve admitted.

"This World is still very unfamiliar to us."

Bucky nodded in agreement: "We are two men out of time."

Lin Feng put down his glass and looked directly at them: "Perhaps you don't need to see it that way. The Worldhas changed, but some things will never change."

"Like kindness, courage, and a sense of justice," Lin Fengsaid calmly.

"Like protecting the weak and fighting evil. These values will not disappear with the passage of time."

Steve nodded thoughtfully. Tony swirled his glass and added:

"And, to be honest, this World needs people like you more than ever now."

"What do you mean?" Steve asked, his brow furrowed slightly.

Tony and Lin Feng exchanged a look. Tony sighed: "Let's start from the beginning. In the past seventy years, the World has changed a lot. The Cold War, the Vietnam War, the rise of terrorism... and of course, our favorite old friend—HYDRA."

Steve suddenly looked up: "HYDRA? Weren't they wiped out at the end of the war?"

Bucky gave a bitter smile: "If that were the case, I wouldn't have become the Winter Soldier."

"HYDRA never truly perished," Lin Feng explained.

"They're like their name suggests: cut off one head, and two more grow. When the United States and the Soviet Union competed for German scientists, many HYDRAmembers were recruited by various governments, lured by their technology and intelligence capabilities."

Tony continued: "S.H.I.E.L.D. was founded by your old friend Peggy Carter and my father, Howard, with the purpose of combating threats like HYDRA. But ironically, HYDRA, like a parasite, quietly infiltrated S.H.I.I.E.L.D. itself."

... 216: Captain America Joins! Avengers!

"What?" Steve stood up in shock.

"The organization Peggy and Howard founded was infiltrated by HYDRA?"

"Yes, and not just S.H.I.E.L.D.," Lin Feng added calmly.

"Government agencies, intelligence departments, military organizations around the World... HYDRA spread like a toxin. Thanks to Tony's and my efforts, we found Buckyand helped him break free from HYDRA's control."

Bucky whispered: "If it weren't for Lin Feng's magic, I might still be controlled by them to this day, continuing to carry out those... missions."

Steve's face was filled with anger and shock: "I can't believe it... We defeated Red Skull, sacrificed so much, and seventy years later, HYDRA is not only still around but stronger than ever?"

Tony shrugged: "Welcome to the 21st century, Captain. The Water here is much deeper than you imagine."

Steve sank heavily back into his chair, covering his face with his hands: "If Bucky wasn't still here... I really don't know what my purpose is in this era."

Bucky reached out and patted Steve's shoulder: "Hey, don't say that. Maybe there's a reason we woke up. Maybe this is our second chance to complete the mission we couldn't finish seventy years ago."

Lin Feng nodded: "Bucky is right. Both of you are warriors ahead of your time, and perhaps now is when the Worldneeds you most."

Steve looked up, his eyes gleaming with determination: "How bad is the HYDRA situation?"

Tony said gravely: "Very bad. They have resources, personnel, technology, and most dangerously, they have patience. They manipulate countless events from the shadows, instigating conflicts, creating chaos, and then offering solutions when people are most vulnerable."

"And these solutions," Lin Feng added, "often come at the cost of freedom."

Steve's gaze became resolute: "Then we must stop them. I won't let the sacrifices of seventy years ago be in vain."

Bucky smiled at his old friend: "I knew you'd say that."

Tony raised his glass: "So, Captain, Winter Soldier, will you join us? We can form a team, a team capable of fighting HYDRA and other threats."

"But before that," Lin Feng interjected, "Steve needs time to adapt to this new World and regain his strength. Buckyalso needs to continue his rehabilitation process."

Steve nodded: "You're right. I need to understand this era, the history I missed, and adapt to new technology. But I promise, once I'm ready, I'll give it my all."

"We can train together, just like before, Steve," Buckysuggested.

"I've adapted to some modern combat techniques; I can teach you."

"Then it's settled," Tony said with a smile.

"Welcome aboard, Captain, Sergeant."

The four clinked glasses, officially forming an alliance against HYDRA.

A few days later, Bucky took Steve from Stark Tower to a secret Base in the suburbs.

This was a safe residence provided by Tony, far from the city's hustle and bustle, suitable for Steve's recuperation and training... 217: Stark Industries Ball!

"This place is good," Steve said, looking around the spacious training ground, nodding in approval.

The Base was equipped with the most advanced training equipment, from strength training to combat simulations, offering everything imaginable.

Bucky smiled and tossed a towel: "Don't just look, try it? I want to know if seventy years of being frozen has made you dull."

Steve caught the towel, raising an eyebrow: "Be careful, Buck. I don't want to beat you to a pulp on the first day."

The two exchanged smiles, then entered training mode.

Although Steve's physical condition was still excellent, he did need to adapt to modern combat techniques.

Bucky, as the former Winter Soldier, mastered various advanced assassination and combat techniques, becoming Steve's best training partner.

"Your right side defense is too weak," Bucky said, landing a side kick to Steve's ribs, who grunted.

"Modern combat is more flexible and varied, not as straightforward as in our era."

Steve rubbed his side, nodding to accept the advice: "Teach me."

And so, the two old friends began their special training plan.

They trained physically during the day and studied history and technology at night.

Steve was particularly fascinated by the internet; this network that could connect the entire World left him both amazed and perplexed.

"So people can now communicate with anyone anywhere in the World at any time?" Steve asked, clumsily swiping his finger across the tablet.

Bucky nodded: "And not just communication. Shopping, learning, working, entertainment... almost everything can be done online."

"That's incredible," Steve shook his head.

"Technology has developed too fast."

"Don't worry, you'll catch up," Bucky encouraged.

"You always learn fast."

Meanwhile, at Stark Tower, Tony and Lin Feng were discussing future plans.

"How's Captain and Barnes' training progressing?" Lin Feng asked, sipping a cup of green tea.

Tony brought up the Base's surveillance footage: "Quite good. Rogers' adaptability is amazing, and Barnes is an excellent coach. I estimate they'll be ready for combat in about two weeks."

Lin Feng nodded: "That's good. We need all the help we can get. HYDRA has been very active recently, especially in Eastern Europe."

"Speaking of help," Tony suddenly changed the subject, a sly smile on his face.

"I have a ball this weekend, Stark Industries' annual charity gala. Celebrities from all walks of life, including many beautiful actresses, will be attending. You should come."

Lin Feng raised an eyebrow: "A ball? That's not really my style."

"Oh, come on," Tony clapped Lin Feng on the shoulder.

Ch:165

You can't always bury your head fighting Hydra. Relax a bit, make some new friends, and perhaps even find new allies. I promise to arrange some charming female companions for you."

Lin Feng thought for a moment, then finally nodded:

"Alright, I'll go. But there's no need to arrange female companions."

Tony smiled:

"Excellent! Saturday night at seven, formal attire. You'll have fun, trust me."

…Saturday night, Lin Feng arrived punctually at the charity ball hosted by Stark Industries.

The venue was on the top floor of a luxury hotel in Manhattan!

...218: Fantastic Four! Invisible Woman!

Through the floor-to-ceiling windows, one could overlook the dazzling nightscape of the entire city.

Lin Feng was wearing a dark grey custom suit, understated yet tasteful.

He politely declined the champagne offered by a waiter and found a seat in a corner by himself, quietly observing the crowd in the ballroom.

Business magnates, political dignitaries, Hollywood stars… various celebrities clinked glasses and chatted animatedly.

"This gentleman seems a bit out of place."

A gentle voice came.

Lin Feng looked up and saw a blond man smiling at him.

Behind him stood three equally well-dressed individuals:

a somewhat serious middle-aged man, a beautiful blond woman, and a strong-looking young man.

Lin Feng immediately recognized them—the famous scientist Reed Richards and his team, nicknamed the "Fantastic Four."

"Just enjoying the night view."

Lin Feng responded politely, gesturing for them to join him.

The four sat down around Lin Feng. Reed took the initiative to extend his hand:

"Reed Richards, this is my fiancée Susan Storm, her brother Johnny, and our friend Ben Grimm."

Lin Feng shook hands with each of them:

"Lin Feng, it's a pleasure to meet you all."

"Mr. Lin Feng, what do you do?"

Susan asked curiously.

Lin Feng smiled:

"Just an ordinary person."

Johnny laughed:

"Appearing at Stark's private dinner, it's unlikely you're an ordinary person, is it?"

Ben Grimm—a burly man—said in a low voice:

"We were just discussing a project about outer space exploration. We need to find some investors and partners."

Reed added:

"Yes, we believe there are infinite possibilities in the universe, including new energy and new materials. However, such projects are high-risk, and it's difficult to find people willing to invest."

Lin Feng showed an interested expression:

"That sounds very challenging. What's your specific plan?"

Just as Reed was about to explain in detail, the atmosphere in the ballroom suddenly became lively.

Tony Stark appeared in a dazzling dark blue suit, as usual becoming the center of attention for everyone.

To the surprise of the Fantastic Four.

0 --- Request for flowers --- Tony looked around, then walked directly towards their corner, a warm smile on his face.

"Lin Feng! You actually came!"

Tony greeted loudly, completely ignoring the curious glances from around them.

"Sorry I'm late, I had a few uninvited guests to deal with."

Lin Feng stood up and shook hands with Tony:

0 ... "It's alright, I was just chatting with Dr. Richards and his team."

Tony then noticed the presence of the Fantastic Four:

"Ah, Richards! I hear you've been researching cosmic rays recently?"

Reed nodded, but his eyes were full of doubt:

"That's right… Mr. Stark, do you know Mr. Lin?"

Tony smiled and put his arm around Lin Feng's shoulder:

"Of course! He's one of my best friends and an important partner of mine. What, he didn't tell you? Too modest, right?"

The Fantastic Four exchanged glances, clearly even more curious about Lin Feng's identity.

The other guests in the ballroom also began to whisper, speculating about who this mysterious figure, so close to Tony Stark, could be…

219: Mister Fantastic! Reed!

Just then, the band began to play a dance tune, and Tony raised his glass:

"Alright, friends, the ball officially begins! Don't let this wonderful music go to waste."

Susan Storm, as if having made up her mind, stood up and extended her hand to Lin Feng:

"Mr. Lin, would you care to dance?"

Reed's expression changed slightly, clearly a bit displeased, but he quickly masked it.

Lin Feng smiled slightly and accepted "067" the invitation:

"It would be my honor, Miss Storm."

As the two stepped onto the dance floor, Susan whispered:

"I hope I haven't put you in an awkward position. I just wanted an opportunity to get to know you better. Reed and the others are very interested in your project."

Lin Feng elegantly twirled her:

"Not at all, I'd be delighted. Speaking of which, Dr. Richards' space exploration project sounds very promising."

"Really?"

Susan's eyes lit up.

"Reed has put a lot of effort into this project, but funding has always been an issue. If there's a chance… perhaps you'd consider investing?"

Lin Feng nodded:

"I am indeed very interested in space exploration. Perhaps after the ball, we could find a place to discuss it in detail?"

Susan was overjoyed:

"Of course! Reed will be thrilled."

By the edge of the dance floor, Reed watched the dancing pair intently, his expression complex.

Johnny noticed and teased:

"What, is the great scientist jealous?"

Reed shook his head:

"Don't talk nonsense. I'm just worried Susan is being too enthusiastic. We know nothing about this Lin Feng, except that he seems to be close to Stark."

Ben Grimm whispered:

"Whoever he is, if he can help our project, it's worth a try. Don't forget our research funds are running dry."

Johnny shrugged:

"Don't worry, Susan knows how to handle things. Look over there, she's already made Mr. Lin smile. That's a good sign."

When the music ended, Lin Feng politely escorted Susan back to her seat.

Susan excitedly told Reed:

"Mr. Lin is very interested in our project! He's willing to discuss it in detail after the ball."

Reed's brows relaxed:

"Really? That's wonderful."

Lin Feng nodded in confirmation:

"Yes, Dr. Richards 0… I have always believed in the importance of space exploration. If it's convenient, after the ball, we could meet at a nearby cafe to discuss the possibilities of cooperation in detail."

Reed extended his hand:

"Thank you very much for your interest, Mr. Lin. We will definitely be there on time."

Just then, Tony reappeared, holding two drinks:

"I hope I'm not interrupting any important conversation?"

Lin Feng took the drink:

"Dr. Richards is inviting me to participate in their space exploration project."

Tony raised an eyebrow:

"Oh? That sounds interesting. But be careful, Richards, Lin Feng is a shrewd investor and won't be easily convinced."

Susan smiled:

3.7 "I believe our project is convincing enough."

Tony raised his glass in a gesture:

"Well, I wish you good luck. By the way, Lin Feng, a few people want to see you later, including Nick Fury from S.H.I.E.L.D."

Lin Feng nodded:

"I'll make time to see him."

As night deepened, the atmosphere of the ball became even more fervent… 220: Cosmic Rays! Genetic Mutation!

Lin Feng became the focus of everyone's attention.

Not only because of his close relationship with Tony Stark, but also because of his mysterious identity and elegant demeanor.

Many guests tried to approach him, but most were politely yet firmly turned away.

Only the Fantastic Four seemed to have successfully piqued his interest, which made them stand out among the numerous guests.

Especially Susan, her intelligent conversation and professional knowledge clearly left a deep impression on Lin Feng.

Reed 06, though occasionally showing a hint of unease, was more filled with anticipation for the project's future.

Ch: 166

If they could secure Lin Feng's support, their space exploration program would take a turn for the better.

As the ball neared its end, Lin Feng arranged to meet the Fantastic Four at a quiet coffee shop.

Tony watched them leave, a meaningful smile on his face.

"Interesting developments."

Tony muttered to himself, sipping the whiskey in his hand.

"It seems our alliance might soon welcome new members."

Meanwhile, elsewhere.

The coffee shop's lighting was soft and warm, a pleasant contrast to the neon glow of the bustling city outside.

Lin Feng sat in a corner, a spot that offered both a view of the street and a degree of privacy.

Soon, the Fantastic Four arrived punctually.

"Mr. Lin, thank you for taking the time to meet with us."

Reed was the first to extend his hand, a sincere smile on his face.

Lin Feng stood up and shook hands with each of them:

"Just call me Lin Feng, no need to be so formal."

The waiter brought them coffee and light refreshments.

After some polite small talk, Reed eagerly got to the point:

"Lin Feng, regarding our space exploration project, I'd like to start by giving you a basic overview."

Reed's eyes sparkled as he spoke of his research:

"Our core research direction is the effect of cosmic rays on matter. Based on our preliminary findings, specific cosmic rays may have peculiar effects on biological genes, effects that are difficult to observe within Earth's atmosphere."

"Genetic effects?"

Lin Feng put down his coffee cup, showing great interest.

Susan took over the conversation:

"Yes, theoretically, these rays could activate certain dormant genes within living organisms, or even rearrange DNA sequences. If we could master this technology, it would have revolutionary significance for medicine, agriculture, and even energy development."

"Sounds like a superhero origin story."

Lin Feng said playfully.

Johnny burst out laughing:

"Yeah, just like in the comics, gaining superpowers after being exposed to cosmic rays. But we are serious scientists, pursuing scientific explanations and practical applications."

067

Reed seemed particularly excited, his gestures becoming more animated:

"Lin Feng, do you know? The universe is full of energies and radiations that we don't yet understand. Earth's atmosphere acts like a protective shield, filtering out most of the rays from outer space. But in space, the original state of these rays may contain unimaginable power."

"We have already developed an experimental spacecraft capable of withstanding such radiation, but due to funding limitations, we have been unable to complete the final tests and launch."

Ben Grimm added, his voice deep and steady... 221: One hundred million dollars? Invincible!

Lin Feng nodded, took a sip of coffee, and asked:

"So, how much funding do you need, and how exactly will the plan be implemented?"

Reed opened his tablet, displaying a series of data and charts:

"The preliminary budget is one hundred million US dollars, which includes the final assembly, testing, and launch costs of the spacecraft, as well as subsequent data analysis work. If all goes well, we plan to complete preparations within a month, then launch the spacecraft into a specific orbit for a two-week experiment."

Lin Feng carefully examined the data, nodding at times and frowning at others.

He was clearly seriously evaluating the feasibility and risks of the project.

"I can invest."

Lin Feng suddenly looked up, his tone firm, which startled the Fantastic Four.

However, he changed his tone:

"But I have one condition."

Reed leaned forward slightly:

"Please tell us."

"I want a seat."

Lin Feng said calmly.

"On the spacecraft, I want to personally participate in this expedition."

This request clearly exceeded their expectations.

The four exchanged glances, and Johnny couldn't help but exclaim:

"What? You want to go to space yourself?"

Susan said worriedly:

"Lin Feng, this mission carries some risks, and we've all undergone professional training..."

"I know the risks."

Lin Feng interrupted her.

"But this is my condition. Don't worry about my safety, I have some... special skills."

Reed fell into deep thought, his brows furrowed.

Ben Grimm whispered to him:

"Richards, we need this funding."

After a moment of thought, Reed finally nodded:

"All right, we can arrange a seat for you. But you'll need to undergo the necessary space adaptation training, for your own safety."

"Of course."

Lin Feng smiled and extended his hand.

"Deal. One hundred million dollars, and if there's a need later, I can increase the investment."

Reed shook his hand, a relieved smile appearing on his face:

"Thank you very much for your generous support, Lin Feng. This is of great significance to our research."

Susan excitedly added:

"Tomorrow, would you like to visit our lab? We can show you more details, introduce the spacecraft's structure, and our research equipment."

"I'd be delighted."

Lin Feng nodded in agreement.

Johnny raised his coffee cup:

"`ˇ To great space exploration, cheers!"

The five clinked cups, the coffee shop's lights reflecting on their expectant faces.

This meeting not only signified the launch of a scientific project.

It also foreshadowed the imminent beginning of an extraordinary space adventure.

The next morning, Lin Feng arrived punctually at the Richards Research Center.

It was a modern building located in the city center, understated in appearance but exuding a sense of technology.

As he walked into the lobby, Susan (of Wang Zhao) came to greet him:

"Lin Feng, you're here! Just in time for good news."

Lin Feng raised an eyebrow curiously:

"What good news?"

"Your investment has already arrived."

Susan said excitedly.

"And it was paid through Stark Industries. Reed and the others were stunned."

Lin Feng smiled slightly:

"Tony promised to help me handle this. I hope it didn't cause any trouble."

... 222: Cosmic Explorer!

Susan shook her head:

"Not at all, it's just... everyone is even more curious about your identity now. Stark Industries wouldn't pay such a huge investment for an ordinary person."

"Tony and I are friends, nothing more."

Lin Feng replied lightly, clearly not wanting to discuss the topic further.

Susan tactfully shifted the focus:

"Come on, Reed and the others are waiting for you in the lab. They're eager to show you our achievements."

They took the elevator down to the underground lab.

As the elevator doors opened, a breathtakingly vast space unfolded before Lin Feng.

This 067 place resembled a miniature NASA control center, with advanced equipment neatly arranged and dozens of researchers busy at their workstations.

Seeing Lin Feng, Reed immediately walked over:

"Lin Feng! Welcome to our main laboratory. First, I want to thank you again for your generous investment. With this funding, we can accelerate the final preparations for the spacecraft."

Johnny and Ben also came over, Johnny excitedly saying:

"We've already adjusted the flight plan, we can launch in half a month."

Ben added:

"(agdh) We are stepping up our training to ensure everything goes smoothly. Your training plan is also ready, if you insist on participating in the flight."

Lin Feng nodded:

"Of course, I'm looking forward to it."

Reed took Lin Feng on a tour of the entire laboratory, explaining various equipment and technologies in detail.

When they arrived at a sealed chamber, Reed smiled mysteriously:

"This is the highlight of the day."

The cabin door opened, revealing a uniquely designed small model of a spacecraft.

"This is our mode of transport, a one-tenth scale model of the Cosmic Explorer One."

Reed introduced proudly.

"The real spacecraft is currently undergoing final assembly and testing at a military base. It uses a special alloy I designed, which can maximally protect the crew inside from cosmic ray damage, while not completely blocking the specific frequency radiations we want to study."

Susan continued:

"The spacecraft is equipped with advanced monitoring equipment that can analyze the composition and intensity of cosmic rays in real-time, as well as their effects on biological samples."

"Biological samples?" Lin Feng asked.
