Chapter 373 - Ch:176-182

Ch:176

At first, it was a tentative tenderness, like a feather brushing a calm lake, stirring ripples.

Then, the kiss deepened, carrying long-suppressed emotions, intoxicating like fine wine.

Susan's arms wrapped around Lin Feng's neck, responding to his passion.

The World seemed to stand still at this moment, with only their breaths and heartbeats remaining.

That night, gentle and lingering, their affection was profound.

They shared each other's secrets, and they shared the warmth of their bodies.

In Lin Feng's embrace, Susan felt an unprecedented sense of security and belonging.

The fears about mutation, the confusion about the future, all seemed to temporarily dissipate in this intense affection.

The next morning, the first ray of sunlight streamed into the room through a gap in the curtains.

Lin Feng quietly got up, pressed a light kiss on Susan's smooth forehead, and then left the apartment.

He knew that some things required him to push forward. Lin Feng went directly to Stark Industries Tower.

He had met Tony Stark a few times and knew that this genius inventor, billionaire, and Iron Man had an extraordinary keenness and interest in unknown technology.

"Mr. Lin, what a rare guest!"

Tony Stark, wearing his signature casual suit and holding a cup of coffee, walked out of his private laboratory.

A playful smile was on his face.

"What brings you here? Are you thinking of investing in my new project? I must say, good eye."

"Mr. Stark, I'm here today to talk to you about something else."

Lin Feng got straight to the point.

"It's about Dr. Reed Richards and his team, also known as the 'Fantastic Four' in the news recently."

Tony raised an eyebrow:

"Oh? Those space mutants? What, are you interested in them too? I did read some reports—one who can stretch, one who can use Invisibility, one who can use Fire, and one... well, a rock lump. Sounds like characters out of a comic book."

...245: Superpower Wholesale?!

His tone carried a hint of mockery, but his eyes gleamed with curiosity.

"They are going through a huge crisis, not just of identity, but physiologically as well."

Lin Feng said in a deep voice.

"Their genes have undergone uncontrollable mutations. Dr. Richards is trying to develop a reverse gene technology, hoping to restore them to normal, or at least control this mutation."

"Reverse gene technology?"

Tony's interest was immediately piqued.

"That's interesting. Changing gene expression, even reversing gene mutations? That's far more complex than my iron man armor. How are they progressing?"

"They've hit some bottlenecks."

Lin Feng admitted frankly.

"Dr. Richards has had many theoretical breakthroughs, but in practical application and drug synthesis, he lacks some key technologies and... I think, perhaps different approaches."

Tony stroked the carefully trimmed beard on his chin, a glint in his eyes:

"So, you want me to... get involved?"

He laughed.

"You know, I usually don't easily get involved in other people's research, unless... that research is truly cool, or challenging enough."

"I believe, for Mr. Stark, this is definitely an unprecedented challenge."

Lin Feng said, "Moreover, this is not just about the four of them. If this technology matures, it will be revolutionary for the entire field of human gene science."

Tony pondered for a moment, the smile on his face receding, replaced by a scientist's unique focus and excitement:

"You've convinced me, Mr. Lin. I'm always particularly interested in 'impossible missions.' And, frankly, I'm also very curious about the mechanism of these 'superpowers.' If we can figure out how cosmic rays turn people into that, who knows... Heh heh."

He didn't finish, but Lin Feng knew that Tony Stark had a new inspiration.

"So, shall we go see Dr. Richards now?" Lin Fengsuggested.

"Of course! Jarvis, prepare the car! And while you're at it, find all the papers Reed Richards has published recently, and all public information about that space accident. I want to read it on the way."

Tony Stark was decisive and immediately got into gear.

In the Baxter Building laboratory, Reed Richards was staring at a pile of complex data models, troubled.

Johnny was practicing shooting with small fireballs nearby, almost burning a valuable research note.

Ben sat in the corner, staring blankly at the wall, exuding a low pressure that kept people away.

Susan had just come out of the room and was stunned to see Lin Feng walking in with an unexpected guest.

"Tony Stark?"

Reed stood up in surprise, pushing up his glasses.

He certainly knew this World-renowned genius inventor.

"Dr. Richards, I've heard much about you."

Tony extended his hand, a confident smile on his face.

"Mr. Lin told me you ran into a little trouble, about... gene cocktails or something?"

Lin Feng explained from the side:

"Reed, Mr. Stark is very interested in our research, and he hopes to offer some help."

...246: I, Tony Stark, Pay Up!

Reed's face showed incredible joy:

"Mr. Stark! You... you're willing to help us? This is truly... wonderful!"

This was Iron Man, the famous genius inventor with extraordinary intelligence; his joining was undoubtedly a godsend!

"Please, have a seat! Susan, get Mr. Stark some coffee!"

Johnny also stopped playing with fire, curiously looking at Tony Stark, his eyes sparkling with admiration:

"Wow! Iron Man! Hey, can I borrow your Iron Man Suit?"

Tony glanced at him, a smirk on his lips:

"Kid, wait until you can control your little flames and don't burn holes in my Iron Man Suit."

Ben Grimm also rarely looked up at the legendary figure, and although he didn't speak, there was a hint of expectation in his eyes.

Reed quickly adjusted his emotions and began to introduce their current research progress to Tony:

"Mr. Stark, this is the reverse gene compilation model we derived based on Mr. Lin Feng's energy characteristics and our analysis of our own DNA mutation points. Theoretically, it can guide mutated genes back to their initial state, or at least a stable state. But the problem is how to transform this theoretical model into a safe and effective biological agent. We have tried various compounds for simulated activation, but all carry uncontrollable risks..."

Tony Stark walked to the giant display screen, looking at the dense data and complex molecular structure diagrams.

He frowned at times, at others he gestured in the air with his fingers, muttering:

"Hmm... the energy path design here is a bit conservative... the stability threshold for this molecular docking can be further increased... have you considered using quantum entanglement catalysts?"

In just a few minutes, Tony posed a series of sharp and constructive questions that enlightened Reed, but also put him under immense pressure.

Mr. Stark's speed of thought and breadth of knowledge were simply superhuman.

"Quantum entanglement catalyst?"

Reed's eyes lit up.

"That's a completely new approach! We were previously limited to traditional biochemistry."

"Traditional? Buddy, you yourselves are now the epitome of 'unconventional.'"

Tony grinned.

"To deal with extraordinary problems, you need extraordinary methods. Alright, don't just stand there, copy all your raw data for me. From today, this project, I, Tony Stark, officially join!"

The atmosphere in the laboratory instantly became lively.

With Tony Stark's addition, the research, which had been at a standstill, seemed to see a new dawn.

Reed and Tony, two top scientists, immediately engaged in a fierce discussion on issues such as gene sequences, energy conduction, and molecular structures.

Various specialized terms and complex formulas rapidly collided between them, sparking flashes of brilliance.

Susan watched this exciting scene, then looked at Lin Feng beside her, her eyes full of gratitude.

She knew that all this turning point was inseparable from Lin Feng's help and wisdom.

Just like how she smoothly mastered her superpowers!

Lin Feng's strength was truly immense, like a legendary god, omnipotent!

...247: Von Doom's Scheme!

Lin Feng, however, stood calmly to the side, a faint smile on his face, as if everything was within his expectations.

He knew that once Pandora's Box was opened,

the mysteries of the Universe would, like stars, attract generations of explorers.

The lively discussion in the laboratory continued.

Tony Stark and Reed Richards, these two giants of the scientific World, once immersed in work, were like two rapidly rotating stars.

Attracting and colliding with each other, they sparked countless flashes of wisdom.

Lin Feng, like a patient catalyst, occasionally intervened when they reached a critical point in their arguments.

With his unique perspective, he would offer one or two insightful remarks from the level of energy essence, which always enlightened both of them.

Susan held a cup of coffee, quietly watching them.

She was happy for Reed and excited for the team's future.

Johnny, on the other hand, had completely become Tony's little fanboy, pestering him with questions about everything from the principle of the arc reactor to the flight system of the iron man armor.

Although Tony found him a bit noisy, seeing Johnny's eyes full of admiration and longing,

he uncharacteristically patiently answered a few questions, not forgetting to tease him a few times.

This made Johnny scratch his head sometimes and excitedly shout at others.

Ben Grimm, the silent rock man, also quietly handed a large wrench to Tony, who was assembling some instrument.

The latter took it unceremoniously, muttering:

"Thanks, big guy. Your strength in moving things and tightening screws is indeed a little more convenient than my mechanical arm."

Ben grunted a muffled "Hmm," as a response.

Just as the laboratory was immersed in a tense and orderly scientific atmosphere, the doorbell of the Baxter Building rang.

"I'll get it."

Susan put down the clipboard in her hand, tidied her clothes, and walked towards the door.

(agdh) She thought it was a regular visitor or someone from the building management.

However, when the door opened and she saw the person standing outside, Susan's brows involuntarily furrowed.

The newcomer wore a well-tailored dark suit, his hair meticulously combed.

He had a faint, almost imperceptible smile on his face, but in his deep eyes, there was an elusive chill.

Ch:177

Victor?"

Susan's voice held a hint of aloofness.

Victor von Doom, Reed's college classmate, was also a brilliant scientist.

But his ambition and paranoia were equally famous.

In the space mission that led to their mutation, Victor was also one of the participants.

It was just that the cosmic rays seemed to affect him differently from the others.

At least on the surface, he didn't appear to have undergone any obvious physical mutation.

"Susan, my dear."

Von Doom's voice was deep and magnetic.

He bowed slightly, his gaze unashamedly sweeping over Susan.

"I heard you all returned, and... encountered a little 'surprise.' As an old classmate, I specially came to see you, to see if there's anything I can help with."

His tone sounded full of concern, but Susan felt an undisguised probing and... a disturbing possessiveness... 248: Dr. Doom, Arrives!

"We're fine, Victor, thank you for your concern."

Susan replied politely, her body instinctively blocking the doorway, not intending to let him in.

"Reed is very busy right now, I'm afraid he doesn't have time to entertain you."

Von Doom's smile remained unchanged, but his eyes grew a few degrees colder:

"Oh? Is that so? I heard you are conducting a very... interesting study. About genes, about mutation. You know, I've always been very interested in this field. Perhaps some of my insights could give Reed some inspiration?"

He tried to catch something from Susan's expression, but Susan just looked at him calmly:

"I don't think that's necessary, Victor. We have enough manpower and resources. If you have nothing else, I'm afraid I must excuse myself."

"Is that so?"

Von Doom's gaze swept over Susan's shoulder, seemingly trying to see inside the laboratory.

"I heard that Tony Stark of Stark Industries is also here? It seems you've found powerful external aid. However, Susan, some things, outsiders can never truly understand, only those of us who have personally experienced them can..."

"Victor,"

Susan interrupted him, her tone firm.

"We know very well what we are doing. We appreciate your kindness. Goodbye."

With that, Susan unhesitatingly closed the door, shutting Von Doom and his unsettling gaze outside.

Outside the door, Von Doom's smile slowly vanished, replaced by a gloomy expression.

He adjusted his tie, took a deep breath, and a hint of ruthlessness flashed in his eyes.

"Susan... Reed... and that Stark..."

He muttered to himself, a cold arc curving at the corner of his mouth.

"You will understand, only I, Victor von Doom, can truly Master this power and lead the future!"

He turned and strode away, his figure quickly disappearing at the end of the street.

Von Doom returned to the top floor of his "Doom Industries" building on the other side of the city.

This was less an office and more a fortress blending cutting-edge technology with mysticism.

Outside the huge floor-to-ceiling windows was the bustling urban nightscape.

0 --- Please give me flowers --- The interior, however, was filled with unsettling symbols and cold metal constructs.

"Master."

A figure shrouded entirely in black tactical gear knelt on one knee, his voice hoarse and devoid of emotion.

He exuded a strange odor, a mixture of blood and something putrid.

0 ... Von Doom walked to the huge throne and sat down, his fingers gently tapping the armrest:

"How are things progressing?"

"As per your instructions, the 'Shadow' squad has assembled. They are your most loyal blades, having undergone the 'Dark Baptism,' their strength, speed, and perception far exceed ordinary humans, and they are absolutely obedient to your commands."

The man in black reported.

"Very good."

A dark light flickered in Von Doom's eyes, his voice imbued with a chilling meaning.

"Reed Richards and his group of 'monsters,' and that meddling Tony Stark, they are researching a technology capable of altering genes. This technology must be in my hands."

... Up.

249: Timeline Correction!

"Master's meaning is..."

"Infiltrate the Baxter Building, and at all costs, obtain their research data, especially all data concerning gene mutation and reversal technology."

Von Doom's voice was icy cold.

"Remember, I not only want their technology, I also want to know how they obtained that power. That space accident, the cosmic rays... Hmph, that was not merely an accident "Zero Eight Three," that was a gift from the Universe! And this gift rightfully belongs to a greater being!"

He stood up, walked to the floor-to-ceiling window, and looked down at the city below, his eyes filled with mad ambition:

"They think they are heroes? A miracle? No, they are just experiments, stepping stones to a new era! And I, Victor von Doom, will become the god of this new era!"

"Yes, Master!"

The man in black accepted the order, his figure blending into the shadows like a ghost, disappearing.

.

Meanwhile, inside the Baxter Building's laboratory.

Scientific research continued in full swing.

Tony Stark's involvement undoubtedly injected a strong boost into the entire project.

His thinking was unconstrained, unfettered by traditional frameworks, often proposing solutions from unexpected angles.

And Reed Richards, with his profound theoretical foundation and rigorous logic, verified and perfected Tony's leaps of thought one by one.

"...So, if we introduce a controllable decaying particle as a beacon to guide nanobots to precisely target mutated gene fragments, while simultaneously using miniature repulsive field generators to construct a temporary barrier at the cellular level, preventing byproducts generated during the reverse transcription process from causing secondary contamination to normal cells..."

Tony sketched complex structural diagrams rapidly on a virtual screen, speaking voluminously.

Reed watched intently, his eyes behind his glasses sparkling with excitement:

"A brilliant idea! The repulsive field barrier! This could greatly reduce rejection reactions and cytotoxicity! But, how can the energy source and stability of such a miniature repulsive field generator be guaranteed?"

"That's my specialty, buddy."

Tony snapped his fingers proudly.

"The latest improved version of the miniature arc reactor, with stable and long-lasting energy output, is sufficient to support the entire reverse gene compilation process 0 ... Moreover, I've also designed a feedback system based on quantum algorithms that can adjust the repulsive field strength and range in real-time, ensuring foolproof operation."

Lin Feng listened quietly from the side, occasionally adding:

"The form and frequency of the energy also need precise control. Mutated genes themselves are in an unstable, high-energy state; guiding them back is like putting a harness on a runaway wild horse. Too much force will tear it, too little will fail to control it. It requires a... gentle yet firm guiding force."

"Exactly!"

Reed slapped his thigh.

"Mr. Lin 3.7 is right! Our previous models focused too much on 'correction' and overlooked 'guidance.' It's like flood control, it's better to divert than to block!"

With the concerted efforts of the three, the theoretical prototype of reverse gene technology was deduced at an astonishing speed.

And it showed promising results in simulated experiments.

This made everyone very happy... 250: Dr. Doom's Scheme!

Although there was still a long way to go before it could be truly applied to the human body, requiring a large amount of experimental data and clinical validation, the dawn was already ahead.

To celebrate the phased achievements, and also to allow everyone, whose nerves had been taut for days, to relax.

Tony Stark proposed holding a small cocktail party on the top floor of his Stark Industries building.

A deeper meaning was also to subtly convey a message to the public and media through this opportunity:

The Fantastic Four were not monsters.

They were heroes with extraordinary abilities 06, worthy of trust and respect.

As night fell, the Stark Industries building was brilliantly lit.

In the top-floor ballroom, guests were elegantly dressed, and glasses clinked.

New York City's celebrities, scientific elites, and media reporters gathered together.

The appearance of the Fantastic Four was undoubtedly the focus of the entire event.

Reed wore a proper suit, and although he was still somewhat unaccustomed to such occasions, his expression was much more relaxed.

Johnny, like a fish in a pond, excitedly weaved through the crowd.

He occasionally gestured his signature flame pose for the cameras.

Of course, it was just for show, he didn't actually light a fire.

Ben Grimm, the rock giant, although his appearance was still striking.

But under Tony Stark's deliberate arrangements and public guidance, people's gazes were more of curiosity and awe, rather than fear.

Susan wore a light blue evening gown, which perfectly accentuated her elegant temperament.

She held a glass of champagne and sat with Lin Feng in a relatively quiet corner.

"These past few days have been truly exhausting."

Susan gently swirled her glass, looking at the amber liquid within.

"My brain is running at high speed every day, it feels like I'm taking an endless exam."

Lin Feng smiled as he looked at her:

"But the results are pleasing, aren't they? Seeing Reed and Tony so excited, I'm happy for you all too."

"Yes,"

Susan's face broke into a heartfelt smile.

"Thanks to you, Lin Feng. If it weren't for you, we might still be treading water. And, also Tony... you always bring surprises."

"I just did what I had to do."

Lin Feng's gaze was gentle.

"It's you, Susan, who also needs a good rest. When this matter comes to an end, let's find some time to go out and relax, how about it?"

Susan's eyes lit up:

"Really? That would be great! I want to go to the beach, listen to the sound of the waves, not think about anything, just zone out."

"No problem." Lin Feng promised.

The two exchanged smiles, the atmosphere warm and harmonious.

Ch:178

Just then, an uninvited guest interrupted their conversation.

"Susan, you seem to be in a good mood tonight."

Victor von Doom walked over gracefully, holding a wine glass, his face still bearing that polite yet distant smile.

But deep in his eyes, there was a hint of undetectable coldness.

The smile on Susan's face faded a bit, but she still responded politely:

"Victor, you're here too."

"Mr. Stark's party, of course I have to show my support."

Von Doom's gaze turned to Lin Feng, with a scrutinizing look.

"This is… your friend, Susan? He seems unfamiliar."

... 251: The Invisible Woman Susan's Invitation!

"This is Mr. Lin Feng."

Susan introduced simply, with a hint of wariness in her tone.

"Lin Feng, this is Victor von Doom, Reed's… old classmate."

"Mr. Lin Feng."

Von Doom nodded slightly, a hint of inquiry flashing in his eyes.

"I seem to have heard that name somewhere… Ah, yes, the news mentioned some time ago that a mysterious Oriental helped Stark solve some troubles. Could it be you, sir?"

Lin Feng met his gaze calmly:

"It was just a small favor."

"Oh? A 'small favor' that can make Stark look at you differently, it seems Mr. Lin is no ordinary person."

Von Doom's tone carried a hint of undetectable probing.

"I wonder what Mr. Lin thinks of the genetic mutations of us 'lucky ones'?"

Susan immediately interjected:

"Victor, Mr. Lin Feng is our friend, not here to be interrogated by you. We are chatting, if you don't mind…"

The smile on Von Doom's face stiffened for a moment, then returned to normal:

"Of course, of course. I was abrupt. Well then, I wish you a pleasant conversation."

He gave Lin Feng a deep look, as if trying to see through him, then turned and left.

"This person…"

Lin Feng looked at Von Doom's retreating figure, his brows slightly furrowed.

"Don't mind him."

Susan's tone was a little displeased.

"Victor is just like that, always full of possessiveness and… some very uncomfortable things. He seems very interested in our mutation, but definitely not with good intentions."

Lin Feng nodded thoughtfully.

He could feel a different aura emanating from Von Doomthan ordinary people.

Cold and powerful, with a hint of… evil.

Von Doom walked to the other side of the banquet hall, holding a wine glass, but his gaze occasionally drifted towards Susan and Lin Feng.

When he saw the two talking happily.

And Susan's face occasionally showed a relaxed smile that only appeared in front of close people.

The coldness in his eyes deepened, and a strong killing intent flashed through.

"Lin Feng… Hmph, a mere clown who popped out of nowhere, daring to covet something Victor von Doom has set his eyes on… courting death!"

He drained the wine in his glass, with such force that he almost crushed the stemmed glass.

The party lasted until late at night.

After it ended, Susan declined Reed and Johnny's offer to go with them, choosing to leave with Lin Feng.

"I'll take you back," Lin Feng said.

Susan looked at him, with a hint of anticipation and imperceptible shyness in her eyes:

"Lin Feng… Tonight, can I go to your place? I… don't want to be alone."

The pressure of these days, the unpleasantness brought by Von Doom, and the confusion about the future.

Made her (his money is good) especially need a shoulder to lean on at this moment.

Lin Feng's heart stirred, looking at Susan's clear and somewhat fragile eyes, he couldn't refuse her.

He gently held Susan's hand, the cool touch made a sense of pity rise in his heart.

"Okay," he said softly.

The night was like water, and in Lin Feng's temporary residence in New York, the lights were warm.

Both of them greatly enjoyed this rare feeling… 252: Fantastic Four, Attack!

Without many words, Susan just leaned quietly in Lin Feng's arms, feeling his steady heartbeat and the reassuring scent on his body.

In these past few days, she had experienced too many incredible things.

From an ordinary female scientist, she became a superhuman with Invisibility and force field abilities.

The change in identity, the physiological mutation.

And the uncertainty about the future, all put tremendous pressure on her.

Lin Feng gently stroked her long hair, not asking questions, just silently accompanying her.

He could feel Susan's inner fatigue and unease.

"Lin Feng…"

Susan's voice choked a little.

"Thank you. Thank you for always being by my side."

"Silly girl."

Lin Feng lowered his head and kissed her forehead.

"I told you, I would protect you."

Susan looked up, her eyes misty with tears, the moonlight spilling on her face through the window, pure and beautiful.

She leaned forward and kissed Lin Feng's lips.

It was a gentle and lingering kiss, without any lust, only mutual comfort and reliance.

All the emotions that had accumulated in her heart these days seemed to be released in this kiss.

After a long while, their lips parted. Susan's cheeks were flushed, but her eyes held a hint of determination and relief.

"Tomorrow… are we really going to the beach?" she whispered.

"Of course."

Lin Feng's fingertips gently wiped away the tears from the corners of her eyes.

"Tomorrow, just the two of us, go anywhere you want to go."

Susan smiled sweetly, like a child who had received candy, and nestled securely in Lin Feng's arms, falling into a deep sleep.

This night, there were no thrilling experiments, no schemes or calculations.

Only two comforting souls finding a moment of peace in the quiet night.

The next day, the sun was bright.

Lin Feng and Susan, as agreed last night, prepared for their outing.

Susan changed into a casual outfit, with a relaxed and joyful smile on her face, as if the fatigue and worries of last night had vanished.

"Where are we going?"

Susan sat in the passenger seat of the convertible Lin Feng rented, fastened her seatbelt, and asked excitedly.

"How about we drive along the coastline first, then find a quiet beach?"

Lin Feng started the car.

"That's great!"

Susan cheered.

The sports car drove out of the city, speeding along the winding coastal road.

The sea breeze blew, tousling Susan's long hair, and also dispelling the last trace of gloom in her heart.

The two laughed and chatted all the way, enjoying their rare time alone.

As they drove onto a magnificent bridge spanning the bay, an accident occurred.

"Bang — Boom!"

A loud noise came from ahead, followed by a piercing screech of brakes and the loud crunch of twisting metal.

Not far ahead, a huge oil tanker, like an out-of-control beast, broke through the central divider and crashed head-on into a yellow school bus in the oncoming lane!

Under the violent impact, the school bus was overturned and spun towards the edge of the bridge!

The windows shattered, and inside came the terrified screams and cries of children!

"Oh my God!"

Susan's face turned pale, and she cried out in alarm.

The school bus swayed precariously, half its body already hanging in the air!

... 253: Chaos Magic, Erase!

It could fall into the turbulent sea dozens of meters below at any moment!

The oil tanker also burst into flames, with thick smoke billowing, and the situation was extremely critical!

"Stop the car!"

Susan shouted urgently.

Lin Feng had already slammed on the brakes, stopping the car steadily at a safe distance.

Just at this critical moment, several figures sped past them from behind at an incredible speed, rushing towards the accident scene.

"It's Reed and the others!"

Susan recognized them at a glance.

Reed Richards' body stretched like rubber, his arms tightly gripping the wobbling tail of the school bus, trying to secure it.

Ben Grimm, the orange rock giant, also roared and rushed forward.

He used his massive body to brace the side of the school bus, preventing it from sliding further.

Johnny Storm, engulfed in flames, flew near the oil tanker.

He tried to melt the deformed cab door with high heat to rescue the trapped driver.

At the same time, he had to carefully control the flames to avoid igniting the oil tank.

Ch:179

Quick! Kids! Grab onto something!" Reed roared, his arm muscles bulging, veins throbbing, clearly under immense strain.

Ben Grimm also gritted his teeth.

Cracks appeared in the bridge deck beneath his feet, but he still held on desperately.

The entire scene was chaos; screams, cries, car horns, and the screeching of metal intertwined, as if the apocalypse had arrived.

Susan stood rooted to the spot, watching the terrifying scene unfold, her heart burning with anxiety, yet feeling a deep sense of powerlessness.

Her abilities were Invisibility and generating force fields.

But in this situation, she didn't know what she could do.

Create a force field to hold up the school bus?

She wasn't sure if her force field was strong enough, and the distance was too great for her to control it precisely.

"I... what should I do?" Susan murmured, her face filled with anxiety and self-blame.

Although Reed and Ben had temporarily stabilized the school bus, it was incredibly heavy, with dozens of terrified students inside.

Their strength was being depleted little by little.

The school bus continued to slide slowly towards the edge of the bridge, emitting a grating metallic screech.

"Can't... can't hold on!" Ben Grimm let out a pained growl, and even tiny cracks appeared on his rock-like skin.

Reed's face also turned extremely grim, sweat soaking his hair.

Just as the school bus was about to plunge completely, an invisible yet immense force suddenly surged from behind.

Like a gentle yet tenacious giant hand, it firmly held up the plummeting school bus!

"Hmm?" Reed and Ben simultaneously felt the pulling force on the school bus ease, and they looked back in surprise.

They saw Lin Feng, who had appeared behind them at some point, his arms outstretched, palms facing upwards.

A chaotic, almost imperceptible energy flowed from his palms.

Like countless strong threads, it wrapped around the bottom of the school bus, slowly and steadily pulling it upwards!

The force was so powerful and stable that the heavy school bus seemed weightless in his hands.

"Lin Feng!" Susan exclaimed in surprise.

Lin Feng's expression was calm, his gaze focused.

Under his precise control, the Chaos Magic gently pulled the school bus from the edge of the bridge back onto the safe road.

254: Dr. Doom's Scheme!

The entire process was smooth, without the slightest bump.

It wasn't until the school bus's four wheels were on the ground and it came to a stable stop that Lin Feng slowly withdrew his power, a fine layer of sweat beading on his forehead.

Clearly, saving so many people at once was not an easy task for him either.

The surrounding vehicles had long since stopped, and countless passersby watched this incredible scene in stunned silence.

When the school bus landed safely and the doors opened "Zero Eight Three", and the children were led to safety by their teachers, the scene erupted in thunderous applause and cheers!

"Hero! He's a hero!"

"That's incredible! He saved everyone!"

Reporters also rushed to the scene, flashbulbs popping, aiming their cameras at Lin Feng and the Fantastic Four.

Lin Feng did not bask in the praise of the crowd; he walked over to the still-shaken Susan and gently patted her shoulder:

"It's over."

Susan looked at Lin Feng, her eyes filled with admiration and gratitude, and a hint of... reliance.

Meanwhile, at the top floor of the Doom Industries building.

Victor von Doom was watching the live news broadcast of the unexpected accident on a massive screen.

When he saw Lin Feng save the school bus with incredible power, becoming a hero admired by all, his face turned ashen, and his eyes were filled with jealousy and malice.

"Chaos Magic... such powerful strength..."

Von Doom stared intently at Lin Feng's figure on the screen, his teeth grinding audibly.

"This power, this glory, only I, Victor von Doom, deserve to possess! Why is it an unknown Oriental man?!"

He slammed his fist onto the control panel, making a loud noise.

"Reed Richards, Ben Grimm, Johnny Storm... and this Lin Feng! They all gained superhuman powers! And me? I, Victor von Doom, whose intellect far surpasses theirs, can only watch as they bask in glory?"

Von Doom's eyes burned with fierce jealousy and ambition. He took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down.

"It seems I must accelerate my plans."

He pressed the communicator.

"Master."

The black-clad man's voice sounded again.

"'Night Shadow' squad, move out immediately!" Von Doom's voice was cold and decisive.

"The Baxter Building will have most people's attention drawn away today because of that so-called 'heroic deed', making it the most vulnerable time for its defenses. I want you to infiltrate the laboratory, and at all costs, seize all genetic mutation technology data! If you encounter resistance, kill without mercy!"

"Yes, Master! Mission accomplished!"

Von Doom hung up the communication, a sinister smile playing on his lips:

"Fantastic Four... Lin Feng... Soon, everything you possess will become a stepping stone for me, Victor von Doom! This World will eventually prostrate itself at my feet!"

3.7 Inside the Baxter Building, in the Fantastic Four's laboratory.

Since most of the core members participated in the bridge rescue and were now surrounded by media and official personnel.

The security in the laboratory had indeed dropped to its lowest point.

Only a few ordinary researchers and security personnel remained... 255: Home Infiltration? Danger!

They were watching the rescue progress on the bridge through the news, full of admiration for the heroic actions of the Fantastic Four and Lin Feng.

Suddenly, the laboratory's alarm system let out a piercing shriek!

"Intrusion! Unidentified personnel have intruded!" a security guard yelled into his walkie-talkie.

Immediately after, the laboratory's heavy alloy door made a grating, twisting sound.

It was then forcibly torn open from the outside by an immense force!

"Who's there!" The remaining researchers looked at the doorway in horror.

They saw over a dozen 06 mysterious figures, clad in black tactical suits and wearing hideous masks, stream in.

They moved swiftly and silently, like ghosts in the dark of night.

Each of them exuded a chilling killing intent, along with a faint, almost imperceptible, dark energy fluctuation.

"Who are you! This is private property! Leave immediately!" a brave security Captain drew his stun gun and shouted sharply.

His response was a black shadow, fast as lightning.

"Pfft!" The security Captain didn't even see the attacker's movement before a short blade, glowing with an eerie light, appeared in his chest.

He looked down in disbelief, blood instantly staining his clothes, and his body slumped to the ground.

"Ah!" The researchers screamed in terror.

"Eliminate all resistance, secure the laboratory, and collect all data!" The leading black-clad man issued a hoarse command.

The "Night Shadow" squad members were like tigers among sheep.

They had been modified by Von Doom's dark sorcery, and their strength, speed, and reaction capabilities far surpassed those of ordinary humans.

And they struck ruthlessly, without mercy.

Although the security personnel in the laboratory were also professionally trained.

They were no match for these specially modified assassins.

Gunshots, screams, and the clang of metal echoed through the lab.

One researcher tried to activate the laboratory's emergency data destruction program.

But before he could press the button, a flying knife precisely pierced his hand, pinning him to the control panel.

"Ah—!" He let out a painful wail.

Another researcher tried to escape through a secret passage to call for help.

But a black-clad figure, appearing like a phantom behind him, snapped his neck.

The battle ended in a very short time.

All security personnel and researchers who attempted to resist in the laboratory were brutally murdered.

Blood stained the pristine floor and the precise instruments.

The remaining researchers huddled in a corner, trembling, their faces etched with fear and despair.

"Begin data collection! Especially regarding reverse genetic technology and mutant analysis, not a single byte 083 can be missed!" The leading black-clad man commanded coldly.

The squad members immediately fanned out, skillfully operating computers, copying data from servers.

At the same time, they cleared out all paper documents and experimental records.

Their movements were swift and professional, clearly indicating prior study of the laboratory's layout and data storage locations.

For precise instruments and samples that could not be immediately copied or taken, they carried out destructive damage.

Glassware was smashed, culture tanks overturned, complex instruments violently disassembled, and wires torn out... 256: Jarvis, activate!

Ch:180

In just over ten minutes, the entire laboratory, a scientific sanctuary once filled with wisdom and hope, had been reduced to a chaotic slaughterhouse and ruins.

By the time Lin Feng and the Fantastic Four, after dealing with the aftermath of the bridge accident, received the urgent communication about the lab attack and rushed back to the Baxter Building, it was already too late.

What greeted them was a floor covered in blood and corpses.

Smashed instruments and scattered fragments of research data lay everywhere.

The air was thick with the smell of blood and gunpowder.

"No—!"

Reed Richards let out a heart-wrenching roar of grief.

He rushed into the laboratory, seeing the fruits of countless days and nights of his and his colleagues' hard work utterly destroyed.

He saw the researchers who had once fought alongside him lying in pools of blood.

His eyes were bloodshot, and his body trembled.

Susan covered her mouth, tears streaming down her face.

She couldn't believe the hellish scene before her.

Johnny Storm's flames flared up violently as he roared in anger:

"Who! Who did this! I'll burn them to ashes!"

Ben Grimm, the usually taciturn rocky man, also let out a Beast-like roar.

He punched the nearby wall, and the sturdy structure instantly cracked.

Lin Feng's expression was also terrifyingly grim.

He walked over to a special glove that a black-clad assassin had inadvertently dropped, picked it up, and examined it carefully, a cold glint flashing in his eyes.

A faint but unique dark energy fluctuation and a special metallic component remained on the glove.

"All our research data... the models for the reverse gene technology... it's all gone... all destroyed..."

Reed knelt on the ground, his hands buried deep in his hair, his voice hoarse and distorted by extreme pain and anger.

Tony Stark also arrived shortly after, seeing the horrific state of the laboratory.

For the first time, his usually nonchalant expression turned grave and furious:

"Jarvis, immediately seal off the building and retrieve all surveillance footage! I want to know who did this!"

"Sir, most of the surveillance systems were interfered with by an unknown signal ten minutes before the incident and are now inoperative."

Jarvis's voice also carried a rare hint of gravity.

"Damn it!"

Tony cursed under his breath.

"It's Von Doom..."

Lin Feng suddenly spoke, his voice cold.

"This dark energy signature, and this special alloy, I sensed similar traces on him before. And, capable and motivated to do such a thing, besides him, I can't think of anyone else."

"Victor von Doom!"

Reed abruptly looked up, his eyes filled with bloodshot fury and deep-seated hatred.

"It must be him! He coveted our technology! He wanted to seize our power for himself!"

"That bastard!"

Johnny was beside himself with rage.

"I'm going to make him pay!"

"Calm down, Johnny!"

Susan held back her impulsive brother, but her own voice was trembling.

"We need evidence now!"

"Evidence?"

Ben Grimm rumbled, his voice filled with suppressed fury.

"These dead colleagues are the biggest evidence! I don't care who he is, I'm going to smash him into a pulp!"

...257: Gene Godhood! On Par with Gods!

"I agree with the big guy."

A cold light flashed in Tony Stark's eyes.

"Daring to do something like this in New York, right under my nose, he's declaring war on me, Tony Stark! Jarvis, fully track the movements of Von Doom and all his properties. I want to know where he is now and what he's doing!"

Lin Feng walked to Reed's side and helped him up:

"Reed, the deceased are gone. What we need to do now is avenge them and stop Von Doom's conspiracy. Since he stole the technical data, he will definitely conduct research, 097 and even... use it on himself."

Reed Richards took a deep breath, the sorrow in his eyes gradually replaced by resolute anger:

"That's right! We absolutely cannot let him succeed! Von Doom, you will surely pay a heavy price for your actions!"

He clenched his fists, his fingernails digging deep into his palms.

Former classmates, now mortal enemies, an unavoidable fated showdown had already begun.

.

Meanwhile, in a heavily guarded private laboratory.

Victor von Doom was smugly looking at the data hard drives and research notes presented by his subordinates.

"Well done! Excellent!"

He picked up a report on the reverse gene compilation model, a greedy and excited smile on his face.

"Reed, my old classmate, you truly didn't disappoint me. And Stark... humph, your intellect will all be used by me!"

He eagerly imported the data into his supercomputer.

He began to meticulously study the complex formulas and molecular structure diagrams.

"cosmic rays... genetic mutation... reverse transcription... truly marvelous!"

A mad glint shone in Von Doom's eyes.

"As long as I Master this technology, I can bestow upon myself any power I desire! I will transcend humanity and become a god! An eternal, immortal, omniscient, and omnipotent God!"

He spread his arms as if to embrace the entire World.

He let out a morbid and fanatical laugh that echoed through the cold and empty laboratory.

A greater storm was quietly brewing... Half a day later.

In Latveria, deep within the austere castle that blended medieval Gothic style with future technology.

A brand new secret Base, far larger and more advanced than the Baxter Building laboratory, had already been partially constructed.

On the cold metal walls, holographic projections flickered with complex gene sequencing charts and energy flow models.

Countless robotic arms precisely operated various instruments in a sterile environment.

There was no hint of humanity here, only the cold echo of efficiency and ambition.

Victor von Doom, clad in his signature dark green cloak and metal armor.

Only a pair of shrewd and fanatical eyes were visible beneath his mask.

He stood before the massive central control console, his hands clasped behind his back, like a monarch reviewing his domain.

On the screen were the core data of the "reverse gene technology" stolen from Reed Richards.

It was currently being analyzed, optimized, and even reconstructed by his supercomputer at an astonishing speed.

"Reed, my dear old classmate, you are always so fixated on using technology to benefit those ignorant mortals!"

...258: Dr. Doom Becomes a God?!

"Yet you never considered that technology itself is power, and power should only be held by the most excellent."

Doom muttered to himself, his voice, amplified by the mask's generator, taking on a metallic quality that made it sound even colder.

He turned to a row of subordinates standing respectfully behind him, also dressed in high-tech battle armor, and commanded:

"Immediately activate Phase One of the 'Chosen One' project. Screen the most top-tier samples from the gene pool we control. I want to see the first batch of successful mutants in the shortest possible time. They don't need thoughts, only loyalty and strength. They will be the first cornerstone of my ascent to godhood."

"Yes, Master!"

The subordinates responded in unison, their voices precise and uniform, like robots.

Doom nodded with satisfaction, his gaze once again drawn to the complex gene model.

His ambition extended far beyond creating a team of superhumans. That was merely a tool, a process.

His ultimate goal was to apply this technology to himself, to absorb, merge, and control every power he could imagine.

Even to break through the shackles of a mortal body.

To become a truly eternal, immortal, omniscient, and omnipotent—God!

He wanted the entire World, the entire Universe, to tremble under his will.

Reed Richards, Tony Stark, Lin Feng... these so-called heroes, in his future divine kingdom, would be nothing more than insignificant dust.

Just as he was immersed in his grand blueprint.

A secretary in a black suit and gold-rimmed glasses hurried in, bowing slightly and respectfully reporting:

"Master, news from the Doom Group's New York branch: Mr. Reed Richards and his three companions have come to visit, specifically asking to see you."

Doom's movements paused for a moment, then a contemptuous sneer came from beneath his mask.

"Oh? They found their way here so quickly? It seems that fellow named Lin Feng is more perceptive than I imagined."

He slowly turned around, his metal gauntlets reflecting a chilling glint in the light.

"They guessed it was me, and they've come to demand an explanation, haven't they?"

A bead of cold sweat appeared on the secretary's forehead:

0 --- Please give flowers --- "Yes, Master. Their attitude... is very resolute."

"Resolute?"

Doom's laughter grew louder, filled with disdain and arrogance.

"So what if they guessed? Where's the evidence? Accusations without evidence are merely impotent rage. The technology is already in my hands. My wealth, resources, and intellect far surpass theirs. Even if they burn with anger, they cannot stop my plan to achieve godhood. Let them in. I want to see what kind of spectacular performance a group of losers can put on."

0 ...The top-floor reception room of the Doom Group's New York branch was as luxurious as a palace.

Outside the massive floor-to-ceiling windows lay the bustling Manhattan.

But at this moment, the atmosphere in the room was so oppressive it was suffocating.

Reed Richards, Susan Storm, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm stood there.

Anger and restraint were etched on each of their faces.

Ch:181

The heavy alloy door slid open silently, and Victor von Doom, surrounded by a retinue of bodyguards, slowly walked in...

259: God's Curse? Anomaly!

He wasn't wearing his formidable armor, but a well-tailored, expensive suit.

A perfectly appropriate smile even graced his face.

As if he were meeting an old friend he hadn't seen in a long time.

"Reed, my old classmate, and Susan, Johnny, Ben, I never expected you to grace me with your presence so suddenly.

What brings New York's heroes to my humble abode?"

"097" Von Doom spread his arms wide, his posture welcoming, but the coldness and mockery in his eyes were completely unconcealed.

"Victor!"

Johnny's temper flared, his body temperature instantly rising, causing the air to warp.

"Stop with the fake pleasantries!

Was the Baxter Building incident your doing?!"

"Johnny!"

Susan immediately pulled him back, an invisible force field barrier appearing and disappearing instantly.

It suppressed Johnny's nearly out-of-control flames.

Von Doom glanced at Johnny, raising an eyebrow in feigned surprise:

"Oh? The Baxter Building?

I heard about it, an unfortunate attack, truly heartbreaking.

Your laboratory was destroyed, and some excellent researchers tragically perished; I deeply regret this.

As your old classmate, if there's anything you need help with, such as financial support, just ask.

I'd be delighted to contribute to rebuilding the temple of science."

His words were impeccable, filled with "sympathy" and "goodwill."

Yet, they were like poisoned daggers, stabbing into the Fantastic Four's hearts.

Reed Richards stared intently into Von Doom's eyes, saying word by word:

"Victor, we're not here for your theatrics.

The special alloy used by those attackers, and the dark energy residual on their bodies, all point to you.

Besides you, no one has the motive or the capability to do such a thing.

Return our research data!"

"Research data?"

Von Doom's smile vanished, replaced by a cold, wronged innocence.

"Reed, we've been classmates for years, and I've always respected your talent, but I never thought you would be so... slanderous.

You are falsely accusing me.

You say I did it, but where is the evidence?

Did someone see me at the scene, or was any identification related to my Von Doom Group found on these so-called attackers?

An accusation without evidence, legally, is called defamation 0..."

He spread his hands, his posture so nonchalant that he seemed like the World's biggest victim.

"You!"

Reed trembled with rage.

He knew that Von Doom had covered his tracks perfectly; those attackers were fanatics, making it impossible to leave any direct clues.

The energy fluctuations Lin Feng sensed could not be used as courtroom evidence.

"What? Can't produce evidence?"

Von Doom's lips curled into a victorious smirk.

"In that case, I must excuse myself.

I have an important international meeting to attend.

Gentlemen, please 3.7."

With that, he didn't even glance at them again, turning and walking towards the door.

"We will find the evidence!"

Susan said coldly behind him.

"Your crimes will be exposed one day!"

These words were spoken with great certainty and conviction... 260: Stark's Decision!

Ben Grimm's rock-formed hands creaked as he rumbled, "By then, I'll personally crush that tin can of yours!"

Von Doom's steps paused.

He didn't look back, only leaving a cold remark:

"I await that day.

But I'm afraid you'll never see it."

The door slowly closed, shutting out the Fantastic Four's anger and frustration.

Outside the reception room, Von Doom's facade instantly vanished, replaced by 06 boundless contempt.

"A bunch of fools."

He muttered softly, then ordered his secretary beside him.

"Accelerate the 'Chosen One' project, spare no expense!

I want Reed Richards to witness firsthand how everything he cherishes becomes a part of my power.

Only absolute strength can command true authority!"

...Stark Industries Tower, top-floor conference room.

The atmosphere was equally heavy.

Tony Stark, Lin Feng, and the recently returned Fantastic Four were all gathered.

"It failed."

Reed leaned back in his chair, exhausted, informing everyone of the outcome of his meeting with Von Doom.

"He denied everything, flawlessly.

We... we have no evidence."

"That damned bastard!"

Tony slammed his fist on the conference table, causing the holographic projection on the surface to shake violently.

"I knew he'd pull something like this!

Don't let me catch him, or I'll blast his turtle shell and his castle to kingdom come!"

Lin Feng's expression was calm, seemingly unsurprised by the result.

"This was to be expected.

Someone like Von Doom, arrogant yet cautious, wouldn't leave any direct evidence that could incriminate him."

"So what do we do now?"

Susan's face was filled with worry.

"All our research has gone to waste; starting from scratch will take who knows how much time and effort.

More importantly, Von Doom already has the technology, and his threat is imminent; we can't just sit back and do nothing!"

Everyone fell silent.

This was a desperate predicament.

They had not only lost valuable research results but had also created a terrifying enemy who possessed this technology and had no moral bottom line.

After a long pause, Lin Feng slowly broke the silence:

"When soldiers come, use generals to block them; when Water comes, use Earth to cover it.

Since we can't convict him openly, we'll work from the shadows."

Everyone's gaze focused on him.

"Since Von Doom intends to conduct research, he will definitely need a large-scale, highly confidential experimental Base."

Lin Feng's eyes were as sharp as knives.

"Stark, your intelligence network and 097 Jarvis are the best in the World.

Fully monitor all abnormal movements of the Von DoomGroup globally, especially those secret strongholds with huge energy consumption, extremely high security, frequent but undisclosed logistics."

Tony immediately understood, a glint flashing in his eyes:

"Exactly!

Such a big project can't be completely hidden!

Jarvis, did you hear that?

Make this a top-priority mission!"

"Yes, sir."

Jarvis's voice echoed in the conference room.

Lin Feng then looked at Reed and Ben:

"Reed, you know Von Doom best; it's up to you next!"

... 261: Jessica's Overtures?!

"From his way of thinking and technical preferences, analyze where he is most likely to build his Base.

Ben, you and Johnny are responsible for mobile support.

Once a suspicious target is found, you will need to conduct initial on-site reconnaissance."

"Leave it to us."

Reed rallied, the fire of revenge burning in his eyes.

"We'll dig him out."

Ben Grimm's voice was steady and firm.

"Very good."

Lin Feng nodded.

"Everyone, do your part and start acting.

As long as we find his lair, the rest will be simple."

Everyone agreed, the oppressive atmosphere replaced by rekindled fighting spirit.

A secret war against Dr. Doom thus began.

After the meeting, everyone dispersed, diving into intense preparations.

Lin Feng, however, left Stark Tower alone.

The Von Doom matter was currently in the intelligence gathering phase, so he didn't need to act personally yet.

Once Tony and Reed found the enemy's Base, it wouldn't be too late for him to strike with thunderous force.

He had someone more important to see now.

Under the New York night, the city lights began to glow.

Lin Feng didn't take any transportation, his figure flickering several times, crossing half the city.

He silently appeared on the balcony of a high-end apartment.

He pushed open the French window and walked inside.

A warm table lamp lit the room.

A graceful figure was curled up on the sofa, covered with a thin blanket, seemingly having fallen asleep while waiting.

It was Jessica.

Lin Feng's face showed a rare soft smile after days of tension.

He lightened his steps, walked to the sofa, and quietly watched her sleeping face.

Long eyelashes, fair skin, slightly pouted lips, shedding her usual coolness and competence.

At this moment, she appeared exceptionally serene and lovely.

As if sensing someone approaching, Jessica's long eyelashes fluttered, and she slowly opened her eyes.

When she saw the familiar face before her, her sleepiness instantly vanished.

It was replaced by uncontrollable surprise and longing.

"Lin Feng!"

She sat up abruptly and threw herself into his arms, hugging him tightly.

As if wanting to melt into his body.

"I'm back."

Lin Feng gently patted her back, inhaling the faint scent of her hair, his heart filled with peace.

The fatigue and killing intent from dealing with various crises over this period seemed to be healed at this moment.

"` ˇ How long has it been since you came back..."

Jessica's voice carried a hint of grievance and deep longing.

"I thought you had forgotten me."

"How could I?"

Lin Feng cupped her face and pressed a kiss on her smooth forehead.

"Things have been a bit busy (of Nuo Zhao) lately.

How about you? Is university on break?"

Ch:182

Yeah, I'm on vacation. I wanted to find you, but you're always so busy."

Jessica leaned against his chest, listening to his strong heartbeat, feeling incredibly at ease.

They cuddled for a long time, enjoying this rare moment of tranquility.

"Let's go out for a walk."

Lin Feng suggested.

"You're on vacation now and have some free time, let's go on a date."

...262: Assassin Alliance! Truth Society!

"A date?"

Jessica's eyes lit up, her face showing a girlish anticipation and shyness.

Although they had been together for a long time, dates like ordinary couples were few and far between.

She cherished every moment she spent alone with Lin Feng.

That feeling made her feel like the entire World only had the two of them.

"Okay!"

She nodded without hesitation.

The two of them didn't go to the restaurants or cinemas that couples usually frequented.

Lin Feng took Jessica to a seemingly ordinary old textile factory in Brooklyn.

This was the new headquarters of the Assassin Alliance, which Lin Feng had taken over and entrusted to Jessica.

As they walked into the textile factory, they found a hidden World inside.

The vast, renovated space was full of modern technology, complete with training grounds, an intelligence center, and an armory.

When the members of the Alliance saw Lin Feng and Jessica, they stopped what they were doing and bowed respectfully.

A woman in a fiery red, tight-fitting combat suit, with a graceful figure and eyes as sharp as an eagle, quickly came forward to greet them.

She was Fox, the current leader of the Assassin Alliance, known as "Fire Fox."

"Master, Miss Jessica."

Fox warmly welcomed the two, leading them to the top-floor office.

"How has the Alliance been recently?"

Lin Feng asked casually after sitting down.

When it came to business, the smile on Fox's face faded, becoming serious:

"Everything is on track. With Mr. Stark's funding and technical support, our intelligence network and equipment have been fully upgraded. It's just..."

"Just what?"

Jessica keenly noticed her hesitation.

Fox sighed, a hint of shame on her face:

"Recently, an organization called the 'Truth Society' has emerged in the New York underworld. They act mysteriously, employ ruthless methods, and are expanding very quickly. They have provoked us repeatedly, seizing our territory and businesses, and even assassinating our people. The conflict between us has reached an irreconcilable point."

She lowered her head, with a hint of self-reproach:

"It's my dereliction of duty; I failed to curb them in time, causing losses to the organization."

Lin Feng picked up his teacup, blew on the hot liquid, and said calmly:

"They are just some insignificant small fries, no need to pay attention to them."

To him, the so-called underground organizations were merely games played by ants.

Jessica's eyes, however, turned cold.

She glanced at Fox, her tone carrying an undeniable dominance:

"Truth Society? Sounds quite intimidating. Since they want to die, we'll grant their wish. Just wipe them out."

When Fox heard this, her heart trembled, followed by a surge of ecstasy. She knew that as long as Master and Miss Jessica decided to act, that so-called "Truth Society" was destined to disappear from this World. They were doomed!

"Yes!"

Fox immediately nodded, knowing her Master's strength well; the Truth Society's threat was indeed negligible.

She immediately stood up and pulled up all the information on the "Truth Society," projecting it holographically in the air before the three of them.

"The 'Truth Society's' headquarters are located in an abandoned church in Queens!"

...263: Truth Society! Demigods!

"Their leader calls himself 'the Prophet,' and he has twelve so-called 'disciples' as his core high-ranking members. Here are their specific Location of the station, personnel composition, and activity patterns..."

Fox immediately relayed all the information, down to the smallest detail, to Lin Feng and Jessica.

Lin Feng glanced at it and then lost interest.

Jessica, however, observed it very carefully, her fingertips gently tracing the holographic screen, and sneered:

"A bunch of guys pretending to be gods and ghosts. Tomorrow, we'll let them see what true 'Truth' is."

After a brief discussion, the action plan was set.

Tomorrow, they would personally take action to completely annihilate this "Truth Society" that dared to challenge the Assassin Alliance.

.

Meanwhile, in Queens.

Inside an abandoned church, forgotten by time, it was a different scene.

The spires of the Gothic architecture cast grotesque shadows under the moonlight.

The stained-glass windows were long shattered, leaving only twisted lead bars wailing in the wind.

Inside the church, the area where sacred statues and pews once stood was cleared, replaced by a massive circular stone platform.

Around the stone platform, twelve statues of various designs replaced the saints.

Their postures were either grotesque or mysterious, exuding an unsettling evil aura.

This was the headquarters of the "Truth Society," the newly risen overlord of the New York underworld.

At this moment, more than a dozen figures stood around the stone platform.

They were the core of the "Truth Society," the twelve "disciples" who called themselves "prophets."

And sitting in the center of the stone platform, on the only throne made of bones and obsidian, was not their leader "the Prophet."

But a gaunt old man who looked unremarkable.

The old man's eyes were tightly closed, his eyelids covered by a dark red cloth strip, clearly indicating he was blind.

He wore a simple grey martial arts uniform, leaning on a short staff made of peculiar white wood, and the entire person was like a silent rock, yet exuded an aura as profound as a deep pool and as towering as a mountain.

He was the true mastermind behind the "Truth Society," the oldest and most unfathomable existence—Stick.

"Assassin Alliance... Hmph, a bunch of rats hiding in the shadows, relying on Stark Industries' funding, they dare to snatch food from our 'Truth Society,' truly courting death!"

0 --- Seeking fresh flowers --- A burly man, built like a bear, with bulging muscles.

The scarred man spoke in a booming voice, filled with violence and disdain.

He was "Tyrant," one of the twelve disciples, a representative of the radical faction.

0 ... He slammed his fist on the stone table in front of him, causing gravel to fall.

"Tyrant is right!"

Another voluptuous woman, dressed provocatively, with nails painted in a poisonous color, Black Widow, chuckled.

"They occupy the most lucrative territory in Manhattan, and their monthly income is several times ours. Instead of holding a meeting here, why don't I lead people to kill them directly, twist off that woman 'Fire Fox's' head, and then their territory and money will naturally be ours."

"No!"

A middle-aged man wearing gold-rimmed glasses, looking refined and scholarly, more like a university Professor, immediately spoke up in opposition.

He was "Sage" among the disciples, the leader of the conservative faction... above.

264: War, Destruction!

He pushed up his glasses, the lenses reflecting a cold light:

"Everyone, we know too little about the Assassin Alliance. Their ability to integrate most of New York's assassin organizations in such a short time indicates a powerful force supporting them that we are unaware of. Stark Industries is merely the overt financier, but we know nothing about their military composition or their high-level combat power. The leader, 'Fire Fox,' intelligence shows that she was once a top assassin of the Assassin Brotherhood 'Zero Nine Seven,' and her strength should not be underestimated. A rash war, even if we win, will surely be a Pyrrhic victory, not worth the cost."

"Sage, you're always so timid!"

Tyrant glared with bull's eyes and angrily rebuked.

"Strength is the greatest confidence of our 'Truth Society'! 'The Prophet' has bestowed upon us power far beyond ordinary people. With our twelve disciples united, who in New York can stop us? A mere Assassin Alliance, just crush them directly!"

"Reckless courage!"

Sage retorted without showing weakness.

"Do you think this is a street brawl? This is a war of the underworld! One move affects the whole situation. Stark Industries, S.H.I.E.L.D., and even the Avengers, are you sure they won't interfere? Our 'Truth Society's' goal is to establish a new order in the underworld, not to seek momentary gratification and push ourselves against everyone!"

"You..."

"Enough."

Just as the two sides were in a deadlock, the atmosphere tense, Stick on the throne finally spoke.

His voice was hoarse and old, like two pieces of sandpaper rubbing against each other.

Yet it carried an undeniable authority.

Just two words, and the entire church instantly fell silent.

Tyrant and Sage both closed their mouths, respectfully lowering their heads, not daring to say more.

In the "Truth Society," "the Prophet" was a totem of faith.

And Stick was the embodiment of power, a revered teacher to all.

Stick's eyes, covered by the cloth band, seemed to pierce through people's hearts.

He "looked" at the arguing parties and slowly said:

"Sage's concerns are valid. The Assassin Alliance's rise has been too rapid, yet its foundation is unusually solid, which is uncommon. Tyrant's confidence is also valid. Our strength is indeed sufficient to meet any challenge in New York."

He paused, and the white wood staff in his hand gently tapped the stone floor, emitting a crisp "thud" that seemed to strike everyone's heart. 0 ... "War is the last resort. Our goal is annexation, not destruction.

A complete, orderly Assassin Alliance is more valuable than a pile of ruins."

A profound smile played on Stick's lips.

"A lion uses its full strength even against a rabbit. But before we act, we might as well try to gain the greatest benefit with the smallest cost."

He turned to a disciple beside him, who was as silent as a Shadow.

This person was shrouded in a black robe, revealing only a pair of emotionless eyes.

"Night Owl."

"Here." The black-robed man bowed.

"You go for 3.7 me and meet the people of the Assassin Alliance."

Stick said.
