Chapter 3 - Ladies and gentleman, we are now introducing a dead man here. May sh...he rest in peace(Ha Ha Ha! Get it? Peace?)

At 9 am you hear a knock on the door. You sighs. 'I haven't drank enough coffee to deal with this' you think, while looking at the empty bottle of coffee, that was, to be blunt, filled with atleast 5 cups of coffee, which if i were to be honest, is 5 cups more than what is recommended for someone his age and... "stature" i believe that's the word, right? let's settle with that. But let's be real here, we'd do anything short of getting up from where you are sitting, for a single cup of coffee wouldn't you? I mean, let's face it, there are just some people in life you just don't wanna deal with so early in the morning, right? We've got a pissed off gremlin here annoyed at the fact that he now has to talk to someone who seperated him from his sister, years ago.

He sighs and walks out.

He meets the eyes of the people in the dining table.

he takes a seat near the man. Everyone looks uncomfortable. The man says "can you sit there?" pointing on the other side at the empty seat.

He just shrugs and complies. The woman makes her way and sits in the seat you were previously sitting on a minute ago while you are chatting with the others in the table your age. 'Ah, it's her personal seat!!! makes sense!'

"So, how do they teach you all in school?" you ask. Gods, if only i was born here. They are just giving away years worth of knowledge, for nearly negligible investment.

Your sister and her siblings look at you like you've grown a new head or something. The man and the woman, to their credit looks confused.

"What? It can't be that bad right?"

Rain just sighs "it's boring!!!". Now it's your turn to look at her like she belongs in a zoo.

She stumbles over her words and says "they keep you locked up in an enclosed space, with 30 other people who don't know how to shut up!"

You just nodded. 'Makes sense. I've looked at the people outside and I already feel like this is my nightmare' You just shudder. 'Even i can't be that unlucky, right?' you ask yourself.

"so what do they do?" you add.

The younger boy 11ish says "the teachers teach us, make us write on the notebooks and make us write exams every week to make sure we remember everything!"

Are these people serious? I know most peoples memory isn't as good as mine, but you are telling me that they need to write things down just to remember something for a measly week?

You shake your head in disappointment.

The man and the woman just look at you with a baffled face, while the trio of siblings look at you curiously.

You just shrug. "Can't relate. I have good memory. I don't need to write something down to remember it for a measly week or two."

The man and woman just lower their heads in embarrassment.

The lady says "alright children, let's eat the breakfast. We have a lot of things to talk about"

As you eat the scrambled egg, you see your sister mix "that" with her bread and eating it. You shudder in disgust. The lady looks at you traces your line of sight to the bread in Rain's hand, and asks, before her husband who had managed to understand the situation could stop her, "Do you want some honey too. I can ask th..." the man covers her mouth, but the damage has been done.

You look at them in disgust "You want me to eat THAT?".

Then you think to yourself 'Wait, maybe they lied to me about how the honey is made? Those bastards were from a gang after all?' I mean, these people don't look like someone who eats insect's vomit, right? .

You decide to give them the benefit of the doubt and ask "What is the 'Honey' made of?"

Whatever shred of patience and respect you had for those street thugs in the slum just got skyrocketed as the lady says "umm, you know, there is an insect called honey bee, we ha.."

You massage your temples and motion her to stop. "Trust me, i don't wanna hear about the birds and the bees, again."

The maids cough.

The man sighs in dejection

The woman starts shifting uncomfortably, with an embarrassed face.

Your sister and her siblings look like they want to crawl into a hole and die.

"What?" you ask.

They just say "Nothing" all at once, voices so bright it bordered on maniacal.

You just shrug, and ask "How on earth do you all eat it, knowing how it's made?"

"Because... it's sweet???" the boy says, but with a hint of hesitation and a look akin to disgust in his eyes as if asking himself 'am I really eating this filthy thing, just because it's sweet?'.

Sunless just shrugs "Suit yourself! I am not going to judge you based on your preferences" with a judgemental look full of disgust, ofcourse.

The parents in the room just wince.

The boy just puts aside the bread and honey, his disgust now visible, as if it would be enough for his mind to forgive him for putting his tongue and stomach through... that .

Rain and her other brother just look between you and their breakfast, as if asking for your permission to continue.

Sunless just shrugs again.

The man now looks at his wife, with a face reserved for when someone wants to ask god why they took away their loved one away from their life.

The lady, to her credit looks embarrassed.

They all, collectively, as if coming to a silent agreement, put aside the jar of honey.

Everyone just thought 'Well, we'll just have it later!'

Both Sunless and the new member of the "I hate honey" club member looked at them with apalled faces, after realizing that they aren't going to stop.

'Is this what he meant when he said that he won't judge?', the man, lady, and Rain thought to themselves.

Every one continues to eat in silence.
