Chapter 89 - Chapter 89 – Sparring Training

Afternoon. On the Soul Battle Platform in the Shrek Academy plaza, Oscar held his jade sword, standing alone against Ma Hongjun, Dai Mubai, and Zhu Zhuqing.

Dugu Yan didn't participate. If she had, the fight would've been meaningless—her third soul skill was so deadly that even Ma Hongjun wouldn't dare touch it. Otherwise, the result would only be poisoning and collapse; without timely treatment, even death was possible.

On the side, Zhao Wuji and Ge Yue sat atop the viewing platform, sipping tea. Dugu Yan stood beside them, her gaze locked firmly on Oscar.

Oscar, alone against three, showed no fear. His jade sword flickered, sending out streaks of sword aura in an instant, slashing toward the trio.

Ma Hongjun gave a sharp phoenix cry, his flaming wings spreading wide as he soared into the sky. From his mouth spewed a blazing Phoenix Flame Line, intercepting Oscar's sword aura.

Dai Mubai stood protectively before Zhu Zhuqing. He opened his mouth, releasing a golden light wave, which joined Ma Hongjun's flames to block Oscar's strikes.

Sword aura, flame line, and golden wave clashed together, shaking the air with a booming wave of force. Seizing the moment, Oscar advanced with his sword, charging directly at Dai Mubai and Zhu Zhuqing.

At the same time, his fingers formed a sword seal, condensing a sword of fire and a sword of ice. They soared upward, converging upon Ma Hongjun in midair.

This was the most fundamental—yet also most difficult—art of swordsmanship: controlling flying swords. Only those with immense spiritual power and willpower could master it.

Oscar's spirit power was already on par with a Soul Emperor. Against three opponents at once, he wielded the swords with ease.

Dai Mubai and Zhu Zhuqing exchanged a glance. Their figures overlapped, merging without hesitation—they weren't going to waste more soul power.

Black and white light intertwined, and a massive Nether White Tiger emerged, three meters long and two meters tall, letting out a thunderous roar.

The shockwave forced Oscar to pause—but to think it would stop him was far too naïve.

His jade sword flipped in his hand, gathering terrifying energy. A moment later, a devastating invisible sword strike slashed forward, its path unseen, its killing intent undeniable.

"Frostmoon Sword Technique – Second Form: Invisible Strike!"

The Nether White Tiger roared again. From its gaping maw, a condensed light beam burst forth, colliding head-on with the invisible strike. Though it managed to block the attack, the beam dissipated instantly.

The White Tiger wasn't surprised. They had fought Oscar before—though he was a food-type soul master, his talent in swordsmanship was extraordinary. With his physique and soul bone support, Oscar could fight far above his level.

Below, he clashed directly with the Nether White Tiger in close combat, while above, his fire sword and ice sword harassed Ma Hongjun nonstop.

The flaming sword's power rivaled Ma Hongjun's own Phoenix Flames. Worse, the icy sword's chilling aura directly countered him, forcing Ma Hongjun onto the defensive.

Unable to assist Dai Mubai and Zhu Zhuqing, Ma Hongjun relied on his self-created Flame Phoenix techniques just to keep from being overwhelmed. He could only curse silently—

"It's not that I'm weak… It's that the Boss is too monstrous!"

Meanwhile, Ge Yue watched with satisfaction, especially at Oscar's mastery of sword control. In his eyes, Oscar had truly inherited his teachings, and perhaps—given time—could even surpass him. Though that might be decades away, after all, Ge Yue was already at the 88th rank, while Oscar was only 38th. The gap was still immense.

Back on the battlefield, Oscar's strikes battered the Nether White Tiger. His raw strength, bolstered by his external spirit bone's 50% power amplification, was overwhelming.

Within just five minutes, the Nether White Tiger's body was covered in wounds, and its soul power drained. What normally lasted fifteen minutes now collapsed in five.

Dai Mubai and Zhu Zhuqing fell from the stage, only to be caught by Ge Yue and Zhao Wuji, who immediately fed them Super Recovery Sausages.

Oscar then turned toward Ma Hongjun. Tossing his jade sword into the air, he stepped onto it, rising gracefully to hover above. With his immense spiritual power, he controlled the two elemental swords to strike relentlessly, while he sat lazily atop his floating blade.

Propping his chin on one hand, he casually orchestrated freezing slashes and blazing cuts. Ma Hongjun could only struggle bitterly.

Finally, Oscar merged the two elemental blades into one, unleashing his self-created technique:

"Ice-Fire Dual Heaven!"

The devastating strike exploded with a secondary blast, blasting Ma Hongjun out of the air. When the dust settled, the twin swords hovered at his chest, pinning him in place.

Defeated, Ma Hongjun sighed helplessly:

"Boss, we lost again… But seriously, how the hell do you train? Your soul power rising so fast is one thing—but even your swordsmanship grows like a monster's!"

Oscar only smiled faintly:

"Nothing special. Just practice makes perfect."

Onlookers Ge Yue and Zhao Wuji didn't laugh at his arrogance—instead, they nodded approvingly. They had seen firsthand how hard Oscar worked.

Dugu Yan, having just settled Dai Mubai and Zhu Zhuqing, overheard those words. Her cheeks flushed red.

This is my man.He might love to act cool, but he had the strength to back it up. And because of him, she too had grown stronger.
