Chapter 66 – Tsunade: The Sky Has Fallen, I Returned After Seven Years, But My Home Is Gone

"That's odd," the Uchiha chef thought. "The girl is clearly a ninja, so why isn't she wearing a Konoha headband?" But he quickly pushed the thought aside and returned to work.

The beef noodles recommended by the clan head had become the most popular dish in the restaurant—almost every customer ordered them.

After Tsunade and Shizune finished eating, they emerged from Pansi Cave into the quiet night.

The streets were nearly empty, most lanterns extinguished.

"Lady Tsunade, shall we go back now?" Shizune asked, holding Tonton in her arms.

"Yes, let's go."

They walked in the direction of their old home.

---

Ten minutes later, Tsunade stopped before a building, staring in disbelief.

"Shizune… did we take the wrong way? Where's our home?"

Years ago, when she returned from the battlefield, the Senju clan lands had already been reclaimed by the Hokage. Tsunade was instead given a detached house in the village center.

At the time, she had accepted it. The clan was gone, scattered and integrated into Konoha on her teacher's advice.

She had lived in that house with Shizune—Kato Dan's niece—before she left the village seven years ago.

Her memory couldn't be wrong. Yet here, where her home should have stood, was now a bustling seafood market.

Shizune ran to a cherry blossom tree in front of the building.

"Lady Tsunade, we didn't get lost! Look—this scar on the bark is from when I threw a kunai years ago."

Tsunade's eyes darkened. She kicked over a crate of fish, scattering it across the street as a foul stench rose.

"Which blind fool demolished my home and built a seafood market here!?"

Shizune frowned, troubled.

"Lady Tsunade, what should we do? It's so late, we can't even find anyone to ask."

"Then we'll stay at an inn for now. Tomorrow, we'll find out who had the guts to tear down my house."

Shizune sighed. "I suppose that's the only way."

Luckily, they soon found an inn still open and checked in.

---

The next morning, Shizune rose early. When she entered Tsunade's room, the heavy smell of alcohol hit her.

Her worst fears were confirmed—Tsunade was sprawled out, surrounded by empty bottles, her clothes in disarray, fast asleep.

Shizune pressed a hand to her forehead.

"Lady Tsunade… didn't you say we'd investigate today? Why were you drinking all night again?"

Resigned, she opened the windows, cleared away the bottles, fixed Tsunade's clothes, and covered her with a blanket. Then she went to extend their stay at the inn, since it was obvious Tsunade wouldn't wake until afternoon.

After breakfast, Shizune took Tonton for a walk.

Passing the seafood market again, she confirmed it: the building truly stood on the land where Tsunade's house once was. Even the old izakaya next door was gone.

The other houses had changed with time, but why demolish Tsunade's?

Didn't anyone know whose home it was?

The thought made her blood boil, but she forced herself to calm down.

"No… if I investigate without Lady Tsunade, she'll be furious. I'll wait for her."

She sighed and walked away.

At a steamed bun shop, she bought xiaolongbao, soy milk, and a few big buns for Tonton. She sat in the corner, eating quietly.

Just then, a familiar boisterous voice rang out.

"Sasuke, I'll definitely beat you in training today!"

Shizune looked up. At the shop entrance stood a blond boy with a school bag—Naruto. Next to him was a black-haired boy with a cool, aloof expression—Sasuke.

"It's Naruto…" Shizune thought, remembering their meeting the night before. She smiled softly but didn't call out, simply watching from her seat.

Sasuke seemed to notice her gaze and muttered something. Naruto followed his glance—and his eyes lit up.

"Ah! It's Shizune-neechan!"

He rushed inside, grinning from ear to ear.

Shizune smiled warmly. "Hello, Naruto. We meet again. Are you on your way to school?"

"Yes! And today we've got combat training. I lost to Sasuke last time, but this time I'll definitely win!" he said proudly.

Then he noticed the small pig chewing happily under the table.

"Wait—that's Tonton! Whoa, he eats a lot!"

Tonton snorted indignantly.

Shizune chuckled. "Tonton is a ninja pig. He not only understands you—he can even use ninjutsu."

Naruto's jaw dropped.

"What?! Even Tonton can use ninjutsu… but I can't even master the Three Basic Techniques yet!"

He stared in disbelief, half crushed and half amazed.
