Chapter 187 - Chapter 187: Bright Prospects, Limitless Future — Return to the Village

Chapter 187: Bright Prospects, Limitless Future — Return to the Village

"1.2 billion?"

Uchiha Sihu asked cautiously, still not daring to push the number too high. He had only added a modest 200 million to the Clan Head's estimate of one billion ryo.

Even so, it was already a staggering figure.

That amount of money alone could cover Konoha's entire annual expenditure.

Having gone through the old Hokage's records, Sihu knew that the village's yearly budget hovered around one billion ryo.

Most of that came from two main sources — mission commissions, which brought in about 600 million, and the Daimyo's annual subsidy, roughly 400 million ryo. Together, it made up the essential lifeline of Konoha's economy.

"Still not enough!"

Hyuga Hiashi replied, smiling broadly.

Sihu's expression stiffened. "Alright, Hiashi, stop teasing. Out with it already — how much? You're killing me here!"

In the months they'd spent working side by side, the icy barrier that once stood between Uchiha and Hyuga had melted considerably. The two advisors now addressed each other by name, something unthinkable back when the Third Hokage was alive.

"Hehe… a full 1.8 billion ryo!"

Hiashi finally revealed, his usually composed face breaking into a grin so wide it looked as if he'd won the lottery. The corners of his mouth wouldn't stop twitching upward in satisfaction.

"Good! Good! Excellent!"

Uchiha Sihu burst into laughter, almost unable to contain his excitement. "To think the Daimyo's treasury was hiding this much cash and promissory notes— what a haul!"

The spoils from Hidden Cloud Village had been disappointing by comparison. Despite turning the entire village upside down — every vault, every mountain cave, even beneath the Raikage's office — they'd found only about 600 million ryo in total.

In contrast, the Land of Fire's capital had yielded more than double that.

The sheer wealth of the Fire Country was staggering. And with all that treasure now flowing into Konoha's hands, Uchiha Sihu's faith in the Clan's destiny only deepened.

Under Fugaku Uchiha's leadership, Konoha's rise was inevitable. He could already envision it: the Uchiha at the heart of a new, unstoppable Konoha — the Village standing tall above all nations, dominating the Shinobi world.

"Excellent work," Fugaku said, a satisfied smile playing on his lips. "This windfall will secure Konoha's prosperity for years to come."

Hiashi bowed slightly. "Yes, Hokage-sama. With this much, we won't have to worry about funding the village's needs anytime soon."

Fugaku nodded. "Don't forget — this is just the beginning. Under our rule, Konoha will continue to grow stronger. The Uchiha will bring peace and order to the entire world."

Hiashi chuckled softly. "I have no doubt, Hokage-sama. Under your guidance, the future of Konoha will only shine brighter."

Fugaku waved him off, amused by his subtle flattery. "Enough. Let's focus on the next step."

Turning to Uchiha Sihu, he ordered,

"Sihu, leave part of the force behind to take control of the capital. The rest will return to the village with me."

"Yes, Hokage-sama."

Sihu immediately began delegating orders. After conferring with Hiashi, they appointed a contingent of jonin and chunin to remain stationed in the capital, ensuring stability before the rest departed.

Once everything was set, they regrouped.

"Hokage-sama, all arrangements have been made," Sihu reported.

"Good." Fugaku nodded. With a thought, his Complete Body Susanoo emerged in a burst of blazing chakra, towering like a god of war. He summoned the remaining Konoha shinobi onto its massive palm. Then, once everyone was aboard, he himself stepped onto the Susanoo's hand.

The Eight-Tails — their captured beast — wrapped its tails securely around the Susanoo's legs, anchoring itself as the colossal figure took flight, tearing through the sky toward Konoha.

Hours passed, and as dusk approached, the shinobi began to prepare their evening meal.

Within the Susanoo's chakra barrier, there was no wind or turbulence — it was like dining inside a giant floating hall. Fire-style users ignited the cooking flames easily, and soon the scent of warm food filled the air.

Even Fugaku dined with his men, refusing any special treatment.

Centuries of warrior wisdom had taught him: to share food and hardship with your soldiers was to win their hearts.

He ate, spoke, and laughed alongside them — and in that moment, the unity of Konoha's new age took root.

For the shinobi, this campaign had been more than a victory; it was a transformation. They had seized immense wealth, destroyed corrupt rulers, and returned home under a Hokage who embodied strength and vision.

It was a complete triumph — a flawless campaign.

Only one thing gnawed faintly at Fugaku's mind: Nagato and Konan had escaped.

He had been eager to face the wielder of the Rinnegan again — or rather, the legendary Rinne Sharingan. Its power tempted him.

Next time, he thought, he would bring Hiashi with him. With the Hyuga's Byakugan, even invisible enemies would have nowhere to hide.

"This time, you were lucky to slip away," Fugaku thought before closing his eyes.

"Next time… you won't be so fortunate."

He drifted off into a deep sleep as the night sky stretched endlessly around them.

Below, the shinobi lay across the Susanoo's massive palm, gazing up at the stars and the sea of clouds beneath them. It was unlike anything they'd ever experienced — serene, majestic, almost divine.

By the dawn of the second day, the familiar outline of Konoha Village appeared on the horizon.

The warriors of the Uchiha-led Konoha were finally returning home — victorious, unified, and unstoppable.
